just saw these guys open for okkervil river in new haven.....seriously blew me away. I am absolutely in awe of Sam's vocals, he has such a range, and he uses it. sure, the comparisons to tom waits, ian curtis, et al., can be made, but i really feel like there is a unique quality to his voice... and ridiculous live! I swear, at times I wasn't sure if he was going to have a heart attack, just so passionately into the music.
