  • Ford never sought the Presidency or the Vice Presidency before ascending to one, then the other by fate. When Spiro Agnew, Nixon's sleazy attack dog got caught with his fingers in the til, the Democrats made it clear no other candidate but Ford was an acceptable nominee; never the sharpest tool in the box, but honest at the day was long and always eager to please, he stepped up to serve and when the Nixon Administration itself imploded, he stepped up once more to serve, with humility. The recor

  • gerald ford is a man of character and integrity. he represent the average person and of the highest intellect. god, i will miss this man!!! god bless mr. president.

  • I'm sorry, but I'm tired of hearing everyone say what a great man Gerald Ford was. As a nation we had the chance to learn the truth about Watergate, Vietnam, and how the US government consistently lies to its people. After the pardon he green lighted the Indonesian invasion of East Timor, which resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent people. Brokaw should stick to journalism and stay away from this praise rhetoric. We should live in a democracy, not a cult of mythology.

  • I'd love to lick a lemon lollipop in Lillehammer

  • I was there. It was awesome and sad.

  • Stunning news from Yorba Linda today, as Richard Nixon's corpse climbed out of his grave and strangled Gerald For to death.

  • what is pneumonia?

  • what was the cause of death of gerald ford?

  • Ford battled pneumonia a month or so before his death, but at 93 he lived a long life.

  • I thought Osama was Muslim you stupid Prick!!!

  • Why does he look so happy at the beginning.

  • RIP Gerald R Ford. You were great

  • How wonderful to see this speech again, and this well-deserved tribute to President Ford. He didn't get my vote, but he was a GREAT man. I can still remember him cooking his own breakfast in the White House after he became President. Proof positive that he was a down-to-earth, man-of-the-people, look-you-in-the-eye, honest man and all-around good guy.

  • He couldn't do it without a jab at Nixon. Typical Brokawavich.

  • what a great man and what a great voice

  • I was saddened on December 26, 2006 as much as it seems Tom Brokaw was "The champion of mainstreet values who brought all of them to the White House"

  • Brokaw is a legend, and will forever be the greatest anchor to walk this planet.

  • lol...he didn't even acknowledge Mrs. Reagan.

  • After Georgy Porgie's presidency, I hope you tube decides to host this video with adequate bandwidth.

  • no where can i find it?

  • lol. I forgot about that skit. Ironic

  • gerald ford dead today...

    age (H)eighty three

  • lemon lollypop!!!!

  • Gotta love Brokaw. Just look at him, he lives to give these speeches.

  • Tom Brokaw is a god.

  • Thank you for this video. I heard the speech live on NPR, and it was so wonderful that I wanted to hear it again. Bush must have been squirming. He must realize he will never receive such affection and respect.

  • I agree!

  • A wonderful tribute to Ford. Brokaw's speech was respectful and yet delivered a sting to the current adminstration.
