Dave Grohl is one of the best drummers in the history of rock music: First It Giveth, erm School, live in Amsterdam etc.....His albums called The Colour and the Shape and the eponymous one were awesome. I don't want ro offend the diehard fans but the guy is wank live. Passion, yes, energy, yes, but Kurt Cobain had more ability in his live performances within his little finger....cue flaming you cnuts

Dave Grohl can't sing live and obviously relies heavily on studio trickery to flesh out his vocals on Foo albums. Saying that I did think the first and second albums were cool listens. Man, he just killed my favourite Foo song with this arse live performance. I wouldn't pay any more than a quid to see this charlatan live.
@Dolphinboy30 hmm, he can sing really well live sometimes, but he wrecks his voice by screaming a lot in gigs. But with Dave it's all about the passion and energy on stage which is really quite a spectacle.
@Dolphinboy30 When you say studio trickery, you forget there were no pro tools when the 1st, 2nd and 3rd record were made, it's all recorded on tape. You also forget that screaming your ass off every 2 nights is pretty big deal to someone's voice + he's not a diva, he's jumping and headbanging, he just needs to rock. Even though he's voice fails, he doesn't go out of tune. Over the years he's vocals got a lot better live.
At both shows I've been to, one around June 1996 in Atlanta and the other about April 20, 2000 in Chattanooga, this song was played. Both versions rocked hard. I missed that dog and The Amps at the first show, and I was fifteen minutes late as they were starting "Weenie Beanie". At the second show, they opened up for The Red Hot Chili Peppers and I was also fifteen minutes late, in fact as soon as I walked into the audience, the opening chords for "Stacked Actors" began.
DUDE!!! I think I was there at that Chattanooga show. UTC arena...Foos opened for Chili Peppers. Dave ran around the whole place through the audience with a wireless on his guitar and mic. Then Flea and the drummer from RHCP streeked the stage. Then after the show we couldn't find our friend...and it turns out she snuck on the Foos tour bus lol
I think that is the same show you are talking about. Actually I'm very sure.
Yeah when they played this and Alone + Easy Target last night, people were singing, but like everyone in our block, perhaps row, weren't singing along, apart from me and my mates , there aren't many old school fans any more :'(
Lol pat and dave remind you of nirvana? The original lineup of the band was supposed to be krist noveselic on bass and pat on lead guitar and dave on rythm guitar and vocals. Imagine how close that would be to nirvana.
yes, yes... he does some great backing vocals on this song too... plus, I'm sorry, but Pat and Dave playing in the same band reminds me a bit more of Nirvana...
I hate the audience in this gig, most of them don't deserve to listen to this song. It looks like they are listening to some boring country music you can't go crazy to, only the ppl in front of the stage go wild. And that although this is IMO on of the Foos' best songs.
Well, btw., I wish they would dig this gem up again for future performances. It'd be so nice to hear it live again.
Yeah. They're probably a bunch of people waiting for all the singles to be played and they don't get into the album cuts and b-sides simply because they don't know them. I don't care, even if I don't know the song, I'll get into it if it kicks ass like this one does. I saw Letters to Cleo do "Demon Rock" before I their second album ever came out. I didn't know it, but because it kicked ass I was really into it. I was a hardcore Letters fan though and these are probably just casual "fans".
Wow, if u look at Pat Smear in the older Foo's videos he's always jumpin round and got this silly look on his face. In this one he's just standing still and looks pissed off! lol
Hawkins loves it !!
