just another quick comment, there are many techniques in the wing chun system that was only passed on to a selected few by GM William, I was fortunate to see a part in the Bill Jee (downward palm elbow strike) taken out of the form, Chum Kill (diagonal knee and forearm strike) also taken out of the form, reason too complex I guess!! WC is a lot eaiser than when we were put through the old school of hard knox. I wish you the best in training, make it purposeful and train hard.
@flyerppc I have the feeling that GM William changed quite a few details in the forms over the years, or at least taught different versions to his disciples. I guess Wing Chun is more of a strategy and theory of fighting, and its complexity and synthesis rely on very simple principles that can apply on almost everything, given that it is realistic.
SihingAngelica, just thought I will comment, my study on wc started is 1982 under GM William Cheung, until 1987 I did believe the system was traditional until I did a couple of seminars for GM WC in Asia, then discovered the system has been modified for the good ie the human race is bigger stronger, now for the punching the double punch was used (similar to double palm strike)and is still the most effective in a front on assault, was proven in a fatality, my student got 3months for that. sifu cs
It is called chain punching, it's characteristical of wing chun and the better and only way to do it is by keeping your arms on the center line. But you also have to have elaborate footwork.
If you get good at this you may succeed to do 6-7 punches per second.
I am dissapointed though that people who watch this video ignore the fact that it is a demonstration of techniques and point out that it is not sparring. Of course it is not, but what am I supposed to do? Have someone fight on the street for real?
It makes perfect sense that you spend time to comment and reply on something you have no opinion on. I welcome serious people with formed arguments. Please if you do not know what to say, do not inform me of that, I really do not care.
A very good video, thank you for uploading!
