  • So true.

  • I've always wanted to do this. I don't really know where to start.

  • God, such bad looking characters for this videos acting programmers :D

  • I miss the big computer game boxes...

  • JAVA IS NOT A FUCKING COMPUTER LANGUAGE!!

Ok.. may a better script language.. ;)

  • @1337anonym That's like saying - C++ is not a fucking computer language. Ok, maybe a better macro assembler.

  • @insaneAnimeLover In fact, C++ is extremely high-level. That joke would be better with C ;)

  • @1337anonym in fact; C++ is about mid level, with it's capabilities of incorporating lower level languages.

Java would be considered an "extremely high level language". it compiles, so it's a programming language. the fact that it heavily depends on a platform makes it a high level language. though it does get a little vague seeing how the platform it depends on can be very specific, I'm sure that's where your confusion is.

  • @frosty1433 LOL, there was no confusion. I will just never accept Java as a computer language :P

And in fact things like iterators, template metaprogramming, parallel_for, threads, mutexes, (which come with the new C++11 standard), are extremely abstract/high level toys ;)

  • @1337anonym C++ allows you to incorporate lower level languages, allowing it interface with the hardware a lot closer than a high level language. remember that the "levels" are all determined by how intimate it is with the hardware. Java is in fact a computer language, because... well for one it's on a computer, and two it is a language; even if it does all of it's work through API. "scripting" is just a another term very high level language. even javascript and html are languages.

  • @frosty1433 I think you will never get the point, sorry. Lost your leetness :p

Java is not a computer language - not because it's high level, just because it's Java ;)

  • @1337anonym that's just stupid. that's like saying a Taurus will never be a car just because it's Ford. if you understood the concept of compilers and linkers, you would know that Java applications are compiled and/or linked to machine code just like every over language. including javascript, html, c, c++, etc. otherwise those pretty lights wouldn't be flashing.

I see you point, I understand it, and I'm telling you it is just plain wrong and makes no sense. that is all from me.

  • @frosty1433 "if you understood the concept of compilers and linkers" hahaha, your funny :D

I will never accept this as a "concept" ;)

  • @frosty1433 HTML is a markup language. It's in the frikkin' name. It's not linked.

Neither is Java. Java is linked to machine code interpreted by the Java Virtual Machine. So it's both an interpreted and compiled language, which makes it bad for both devs and users.

  • std:cout<<" Hello World/n";

  • I feel sorry for FORTRAIN guys

  • @MandrilMadness

    It's spelled FORTRAN, douchebag.

  • I was when I was young professor in COBOL language now.. I Feel like prehistoric monster ! ! !

  • because you are. christ.

  • when will they invent a program to do the programing for us =P

  • Some programming can already be done automatically. Many compilers(ie. GCC) can generate assembly from high level source code. You may think that those are indirectly created by people but that brings a good question. If a person made a program that can program, is that person the indirect creator of every program it makes? If yes, how can the program "program" without creating? If no, why isn't a code generator or translater considered an automatic programmer that lacks creativity?

  • no, but the creativity of generated code is derived from the input creativity.

  • Quite educational.
