Holmes and Watson should see to it that Major Murphy ensures that Henry Wood gets the 30 years back pay due him and a retirement pension. That's the least they can do for a soldier who went through something as horrible as that.
Now I want a mongoose! SO ADORABLE! But how did Watson know automatically that the little guy was a mongoose? I mean, how many people would know a mongoose just to look at it? I'd guess it was a ferret or something...
@phanpiggy I'm pretty sure it is a ferret, as I've had several, one of which looked exactly like Teddy. (They make delightful pets!) A mongoose has a pointier nose, for one thing. Besides, I'd have to imagine that it's much more difficult to find a trained mongoose for a film production that a ferret.
Uh... anyone help me out here? The wooden club the police assumed was the murder weapon was apparently not... but it was never explained how it got there, didn't belong to the victim and nobody had seen it before. Bit of a random hole in the plot there?
Henry Wood dropped it there; it's the cane he used to help him walk. It's in his hand at 48:14 but not at 48:39 when he goes to Mrs. Barclay's aid, and he evidently forgot it when he fled.
This was way too easy D: I figured it out as soon as they mentioned the name David and the expression on the mans face. It's a good show, but I like a great mystery- and this was hardly difficult at all.
I love the voice of the hunch back.

@7:03
That smile Holmes is giving Watson is so excellent. I can't tell if he's think 'Watson you've got it wrong again...' or 'I love it when he's clever.'
Brett is winning me over ><

Damn, this episode made me cry. The actor playing the old Henry Wood is really good. Says his lines with real emotion. *sniff sniff*

@phanpiggy probably due to watson's extensive military service in asia, where the mongoose is common.

Hatred-- not unlike love and fear--is truly a force to be reckoned with.
