Vikings do not exist today only in the term because they are the Scandinavians who stopped raiding therefore stopped being called Vikings. @spackhollogay That's because they were corrupted by Christianity, they weren't true Vikings. The Viking way was quasi-nomadic. You followed a food source, worked out its pattern and built a village there that could sustain itself, then you did some raiding for some extra commodities to sell and of course gold etc.
Also, no good claiming they stole from the monastaries when the monastaries were founded on gold stolen from Celts and Celtic Kingdoms!
