We fill Universities with people that are not best suited to be there. People drift into get a degree, any degree. Candidates come to see me with I.T based qualifications which look fantastic on paper, but which have related to a person that while overqualified on paper are still not able to perform. I prefer to employ someone who had been working within the industry during that time. Theory and methodology are a poor second to demonstrable experience.

@Makadonska27 I have both a degree and many years experience in IT having worked for numerous blue chip companies. I have worked on several large scale software developments including nuclear control systems and massive financial database systems. Having been out of work for coming up to two years I still cannot find work. The problem we face is the system of free market capitalism that has ball-wrecked the global economy along with billions of lives. I am extremely pissed off.
