  • This conflicts with Darwinian science on so many levels XD

  • @leegeorgeson This is a story based on Kipling's Make believe for children" - please view my animation on "Evolution" to see a bit of Darwin...it is possible to have both in your life.

  • You want to know something weird? I grew up in the US, and I remember this...but with a different narrator and different animation. But I remember it. How weird...

  • an ethiopian disliked it :p

  • @armantastic These Lllama liked their song - thanks

  • I'm sure I watched these when I was like 5 in the UK! (1996)

  • I wonder if this isn't offensive to Ethiopians.

  • I thorgot how long and im in the uk

  • @kaistap1 Thanks for that - the layout of your own page is prety cool - I reckon you are a bit of an artist yourslef - keep it up!

  • @sheilagraber why did you ask that for?

  • @kaistap1 I asked because I made this series years ago - my agent sent it out on TV but I never knew where or when it was screened - so it's just nice to know it was watched by you in the UK...thanks

  • I watch these at school

  • @kaistap1 Hope U enjoyed them - how long ago did you watch - and in which country please..

Thanks for your comment - Sheila

  • Cute!

  • Thanks - your own site is an excellent resource for those wishing to read the original text and see Kipling's own drawings - which as you have seen I used as a basis for many of my own!

  • Fantastic, thank you for sharing.

    I love Kipling

  • these animals are trippppppin ballsa hahaha

  • PORTUGAL THE MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • now we know

  • I enjoyed this :) I truly wish someone would do other racial creation stories, but racial flames are a nasty throwback if they arn't what people like.

  • Sorry you feel that - as it was certainly not Kipling's intention to be so he lived in India and Africa and had a HUGE respect for the people there and their way of life..which he tried to pass on to youngsters. Thanks for favouriting the "whale" - glad you feel it's not "Whalist"-Hope it's sunnier in the US than here in Ireland.

  • racist

  • Oh Noes. People have different coloured skin when they are from different places.

You know that words only have meaning when we give it to them right?

  • Great animation. Although I must stress out one MAJOR continuity error: what happened to the antler (yes, I know it was called something, but I couldn't quite hear it)?

  • This is a gem of a short story. And such FANTASTIC drawings.

  • this is racest

  • If you look at all 10 Just So's you'll see they are just ways that Kipling tried to explain nature in a fun way to his 5 year old daughter.

My job was to animate his stories. I know he uses the word "black" but I guess it make"Spots" sort of "Spottist" for leapords.

  • that's the most stupid shit i've ever heard haha nothing about this is racist

  • thats racest

  • I like your cats dancing on your site..whatever colour they are they are great...which is how I personally view life.

  • That's a cute way of explaining black people. I like it.

  • Yep I agree - Kipling got this one right. that's why I enjoyed making the animated film of his story. Thanks for your comment-Sheila
