Had to take the MB-D80 grip off my D90. When you put a 70-200 2.8 lens on your camera the MB-D80 causes an intermediate false low battery warning. What a shame Nikon hasn't upgraded the firmware to fix this problem.
Agh, right... Does that get annoying then? I have my D80 set to focus priority so it wont take a photo without a solid focus so do you just press it all the way down and let the camera take the photo as soon as it is focused or do you use the AE-L/AF-L to set the focus??????
Cheers for your help, I dont really want to spend £100 on the MB-D80 and be unhappy with it!!!!
no, with the camera it's good and easy to press half way and then fully again with a defined stop in the middle. The one on the grip will only go full way with no stop in the middle so you have to press it really slowly.

I bought the $60 adorama "Meike" version. It has a nicer grip than the MD-D80 and is 1/3 the price... your all fooled xD

You can press it down halfway but there is no definition between up, middle and down if you know what I mean.

Cheers for the video bud, hopefully getting one of these next monday after the student loan comes through!!!
When you say the shutter release is more sensitive, do you mean it is weak?? Are there still two definite stops between the focus and shutter?
Cheers!

The grip has rubber on it and does the plastic feel durable?
