The bestest feel good song ever!!!!

Even when I was at deaths door, living on oxygen and struggling everyday I played this song and it made everything good. Thankfully I'm post a double lung transplant and dont hear this song or have to play it nearly as much but it always reminds me how much it made me feel great!

The song has a simple message: the world today is up in arms and mixed up. Life becomes even more precious. Be thankful that you wake up in your own bed, able to make your day whatever you want.

"I think of you on cold winter mornings" - I can't tell if his love is dead or somehow involved in the war (generic) the song talks about.

'War' could just be the pull of society, in a post 9/11 sort of sense.

At any rate, since 2006 I have listened to this song probably over 500 times. Beautiful!

You could definitely interpret my attitude as 'pretentious' I suppose, though I would've thought you could sympathise with me, reading some of these comments; nonetheless, I personally thought this song was more (as you mentioned) about society and our world today in general rather than the specific example of Jean Charles de Menezes, and I quite enjoy the way it's crafted delicately to be open to interpretation, even as a love song in some aspects.

Furthermore, you're certainly right, it is an optimistic line with which the song ends, yet depending on the way you look at the lyrics as a whole, it can definitely be interpreted as a sorrowful song as well.

Its sad when videogames today are the reason for people discovering good bands. Its not the gamers faults its cause Radio stations are not what they once were and just throw on the same 5 pop band useless crap over and over.
