@ThinkerResearcher Sometimes it takes several times of quitting before it actually happens for good. The best advice I can give you is keep your hands busy. Knit, crochet, underwater basket weaving etc...whatever you can do and then do a lot of it. I drank water every time I wanted a cig. Then I started waking and I would walk every time I wanted one. Do something physical t take your mind off it. If you walk or run, you will soon appreciate being a non smoker. Good luck!
Hopefully you've discovered the wonders of PV's (personal vaporizers, aka e-cigarettes) by now. :) Most are finding it child's play to give up cigarettes when they change to PV's. The top forum for 'vapers' on the net shows an experienced 84% success rate in stopping smoking. Same nicotine but 0 tar, no 10,000 unknown chemicals, no evidence of health issues, 0 smell, 0 smoke as you exhale water vapor instead. Check it out. I started 5 weeks ago, not a single cigarette since my first vape.
@OrthodoxAtheist Thanks but ACTUALLY, I went cold turkey when I quit. I did try the vapor cigarette but as you know there hasn't been enough research on them to tell what, if any, harmful effects they may have on the human body. PERSONALLY, I got pneumonia every winter so I worry about fluid in the lungs and that is what this cigarette is, water vapor laced with nicotine, am I correct? I don't need nicotine anymore but I wouldn't use this cigarette because I wouldn't want water in my lungs.
@daligoddess2006 :) No, its not water... what you exhale is water vapor, but what you inhale is propylene glycol. Very safe (google it) and used in about 500 things in your house right now. It actually has a drying effect, so it won't add water to your lungs... more likely to dry you out. The FDA doesn't like them, but for frivalous and unfounded purposes. I've read virtually every study on the issue.. it is as dangerous as a nicoderm path, and about 1/1000th the 'harm' of smoking.
@daligoddess2006 but if you no longer want or need nicotine, then cold turkey is obviously the best approach. Personally I love nicotine, always have, and it helps me in several ways, so vaping is a perfect solution for me. If you have friends having trouble going cold turkey, I'd recommend it to them. Otherwise, CONGRATS... and if you feel the urge to return to smoking again (aka fall of the wagon), which I very much hope you don't, consider a PV instead. :)
@fuckpennyfinders Good question! I think because I thought it "Looked Cool". Walked into the girls bathroom at school one day and saw this blonde, "bad girl", wearing a black leather jacket, standing near the open window, smoking. Everything about the scene burned forever into my mind. The smoke billowing out into the cold blue air behind the chick's silhouette, her indifference as she turned to see me catch her, the casual way she shook a "Kool" to the top of the pack and offered me one.
It was like a scene right out of the book, "The Outsiders", which we were reading in English at the time. If I had known at the time, that it wouldn't look "Cool" 40 years down the road and that it would possibly kill me and keep me from breathing, I would have never started smoking! HIndsight is 20/20.
Very attractive lady ! Beautiful face , hair, eyes... etc .. sexy mannerisms.. Sexy smoking style as well .. also Great wet, congested coughing! I bet this hottie is capable of hocking up some fantastic loogies.. would love to wake up next to her in the mornings !
@ArthurRyeTits I know better than anyone how bad smoking is for me. It's an addiction I've been struggling with for years. Although I wish they could, even your derogatory comments cannot make me quit, but thanks for trying.
@daligoddess2006 My comments are not derogatory at all .. I find YOU to be quite sexy.. Could you make a clip when you are especially congested perhaps with a cold or allergies or just smoking too many the night before .. Coughing and spitting.. would be Fantastic !
I smoked for 50 years. Gave it up on 22nd September 2000, at 4pm.... (Because I was a dead man)..... Then 5 years ago I had LVRS... Lung Volume Reduction Surgery. They cut our 35% of the top lobe of the left lung and 55% of the top lobe on the right lung. I was much better till about 18 months ago and now I'm going backwards again. And I've gone past my use-by date, so there's nothing else they can do.
seriously people if you dont smoke, dont even take one puff ever. you dont know how hard of an addiction it is to break. and it WILL kill you. i wish i never started.....
im 17 years old, ive been smokin for abwt 2 years, and i fukin love it! I LOVE TO SMOKE, and im not afraid to admit it. you know some people say "why?" "whats the point?" "what does smoking give you?". wel i have no idea but i think tht athough smoking is not something for your body, its definately something for the soul. it lets you relax for those few minutes in the middle of the day, it lets you stop in your tracks and forget the chaos around you... so yeah i think smoking is awsome lol
i'm 13 and i been smoking for about a year and a bit and i can barely go a couple of hours without gasping for one, not cos i get stressed its just a horrible addiction, all you comment readers who don't smoke, DON'T EVER START!!!
im 17 and ive been smoking for a year and a half, its the worst thing to do but i realy hate the fact that i do it, but so much shit in life makes u want to have a cig, trust me i went 5 days without smoking one.
hey there came across your video after watching mine, I'm planning on quitting for good and I'm filming the whole thing the first 3 days have been rough and i'm constatly smoking a cig on cam saying i swear ill try harder lol haven't succeeded yet but i think putting it all up for the world to see should give me some motivation, I hope you can kick it too!
cricker~ I did quit. TWICE since that video was made. First time for about 5 months or so. Second time, I was 1 week away from having been quit a YEAR, when I picked those nasty things up again. I could shoot myself.
You need to read Allen Carr's easy way to quit smoking. You are sacrificing other stuff to substitute cigarettes. You dont have to quit the coffee, you will feel like you are making a genuine sacrifice. You will be smoking again within 6 months if you dont read his book. I promise, GL2U
I had to quit drinking coffe when I quit smoking because that was my favorite thing with a cigarette, besides an alcoholic drink. Now I drink herbal teas, not the same kick at all, but healthier for me.
Addiction depends largely on one's personality type as well as all the addictive chemicals the tobacco companies put in their product. I have a few friends who are able to smoke all night long at social gatherings and then go about their regular non-smoking business the next day,
Lol.... I love your rambling... :) u seem like a really cool person like someone that i could have a coversation with for hours.... I've tried quitting a few times im gonna be 18in a couple months and i've been smoking since i was about 10 or 11 so its been about 7 years since i started.. it a terrible habbit and i wish i wouldnt have started but both my parents smoked.. my sister and alot of my family so i just wanted to like them.. but I hope i can get enough courage to quit someday. 5 stars
Hehehe. Yeah, I do tend to ramble sometimes. Listen honey, it may take a few times to quit. I mean I have quit like 10 times in my life so far. I started smoking again after this video, about 5 months or so into it. Then I quit about 9 months later and I have not been smoking since St. Patricks Day last year. Good luck on quitting. Besides a good education, it's one of the best things you can do for yourself.
im happy that you quit for good this time.. its good to kno that theres people out there like you that can do it and if you can do it i can give it my all... I was gonna quit about a week ago and i had 1 pack left and i figured its my last pack im not gonna spend anymore of my money to end up in a hospital bed and knowing that I'M the reason why im here.. but i went without for about 4 hours and had to go get more i tried and failed again. but im gonna go 4 round Two soon :)
hey man i am 14 and i was a straight smoker yor 2 years and quit cold turkey! it was not that hard only at night on a sunday it got soo unbearable i just had to have one... been smoke free for a 6 months now!!!
well, you must've not smoked very much every day, like i said i have been smoking since i was about 10 or 11, which makes me feel stupid to admit that, and im gonna be 18 in a couple months, so thats about 7 or 8 years, starting at a few a day, then half a pack than when i was about 12i started smoking a pack a day. im still at that, and its extremely hard to smoke for that long and then just quit. im not for sure if i'll ever accomplish it, and i regret starting,. Every cigarette i light.
DG-way to go--I hope you're still off the ciggies--I liked your attitude- I quit for a year and started again--it's been a year back on 'em and I'm sick of the things--time for my last cig too!..."last cigarette, all you can get, turning your orbit around.."-from a Wilco song.--:)
