How does it work? t's called the game of baseball; players come and go to different teams. Saying that you would automatically hate a player just because of who they used to play for is ignorant. We like Damon because he's done well for us. And you'd like Mariano too if he came over and started racking up the saves for you. Damon earned our respect. This blind hatred, "us against them" mentality gets you nowhere. Have you ever played baseball??

yes, i played it throughout high school thank you very much. have you heard of the greatest rivalry in sports? its called red sox/yankees. there are more fans of each team that have my "mentality" of the rivalry than don't, so try to get used to it.

And yes, I have lived and died through the greatest rivalry in sports, but that doesn't mean that I automatically hate every Red Sox player, and that I wouldn't give them the time of day should they come to the Yankees. Sadly yes, there are many Bostonians with your mentality, and I'm quite used to it by now. We lifelong Yankee fans are used to such venom; we're comfortable with, even downright amused by it.
