Great car. Would i be right if i was thinking: I would replace the 915 gear box with a built beetle box ( lower ratio box). This would mean "gaining torque" in a way, and tranction, as less revolutions happen at the wheel. Probably also better acceleration?

What engine did you start with? Gen 2 turbo II? What 915 did you use? I'm guessing the 7,31 early mag case... ZF LSD?

(Rotary that is) Those air cool monster motors are just not reliable, thier Indestructible in thier stock form(1600cc) But for all of that money that Ive lost on those monster air cooled motors I could have bult three bugs with rotary turbo motors that are reliable for the street and drag! He probaly using a VW-style gearbox. You'd need a custom flywheel adaptor to mate the mazda rotary to a VW transaxel. He'd also might have built some custom engine mounts.

i have a 912 with a 13b turbo with a 901 tranny, car is in pieces right now. how is the shifting on the 915 tranny. did you keep the original engine ECU with miles of unused wires? or did you upgrade to an aftermarket. whats a good after market ECU no need for programing, just to clean up wires, and get rid off extra parts.

you can more than likely get the manual off of the car the engine came out of and just cut the wires coming off the ECU that you dont need. should be a diagram telling you what wires are which///////then again i could be wrong

Look EVERYTHING you just asked up on the VW forums online. They will explain how to do the swap. You need to get an adaptor plate to mate the rotary to the VW transaxle.

Hi, The car was driven on 1/4 mile, about 10,5 sec, had problems with tracion. I put the radiator in the front and cut hole on the front for air to the radiator. The tubing get into the car with a electric waterpump. It was a Turbo 1 engine with a bigger T3/4 hybrid turbo, above 380hp. Halltech E6k Ecu. Adapter betvean engine and porshe 915 gearboks. Made my ovn engine mounts....

The engine are a 13b turbo 86- Street port, with garrett T3/T4 running on 1,2kg boost. The ecu are a Haltech E6k System. The gearbox are a porshe 915. In the wing, the intercooler is mount,a radiator in front with a electric water pump.
