  • I love Dr. Dawkin's books. He has a wonderful way of making complex scientific concepts so brilliantly simple.

  • Natural selection? LOL

  • @virtualguitarist I can see your reason to laugh at it, because it is so fun to consider the fact that one of my ancestors were not even a cell.

That is the amazing thing about life, it is greatly powerful to adapt to the situaion.

  • @virtualguitarist what's so funny?

having a point in your comment would be nice :)

  • Monotheism has had 2000 years to prove it´s case and has failed miserably, time for it to fuck off.

  • Many of the things that are inexplicable to scientists (real ones, not corporators): the Great pyramid of Giza, the monuments of Cydonia, and so on, defy human understanding because they can not be reproduced by state-of-the-art technology.

  • @YourUTubeMonitor Who said they can't be reproduced by state of the art technology. Who said a lifetime of training with very little distractions not make the most beautiful structures, the most precise puzzles, and so on and so forth.Who says that it is impossible. We were not there to witness the most beautiful paintings being painted, the most thought provoking works being written, but that does not mean they did not happen, that does not men they are still great works and achievements. Fuck you

  • @MrStupididy : Where's your gay-pride now?

  • Apparently Dawkins is unaware that vaccination doesn't equate to immunization...

  • Today's, atheistic Darwinists/evolutionists, are the high priests of corporate science. They sermonize & pontificate, from lecterns & in clumsily-written tomes, on the "over-population" dilemma and the necessity of, foisting upon a stupefied populace, eugenic measures (sterilants & abortifacients) to curtail growth.

  • @YourUTubeMonitor Quick, there's a special offer on tin foil hats over at Wal-Mart!

  • @TomFynn : But surely you can't abandon Oprah half way through? Be patient, Wal-Mart's open all night.

  • @YourUTubeMonitor Oprah's retired. Thank FSM.

  • @TomFynn : Where's your gay-pride now?

  • @YourUTubeMonitor What you're on about? I never watched Oprah. I'm glad that this massive waste of airtime which was nothing but an unbroken line of tear-jerkers is gone for good. Thank FSM.

  • @TomFynn : Be true to yourself and do not abort your baby.

  • @YourUTubeMonitor You are raving.

  • @TomFynn : I'm here to help you.

  • @YourUTubeMonitor Says the one who needs help.

  • @TomFynn : Do family members support your decision to have an abortion?

  • @YourUTubeMonitor Does your Mom still cry over that fact that she did not abort you?

  • @YourUTubeMonitor Please will you shut the fuck up.

  • @MrStupididy : You're aptly named.

  • Behold the great prophet Dawkins has spoken, now buy his book, sign up to his business's, and never think for yourself.

  • @iwanttocrashmybike nice try creationist!

  • @jrswordfish1

    Scientific Proof of God

    From: simpletoremember | Jan 18, 2009 | 62,731 views

This involves: People Darwin, Dawkins, Einstein,James Jeans, George Wald, Verna Hiesenberg ,Irving Schroedinger, and many Scientific Journals..

-Narrated by Gerald Schoeder-MIT & Weizman Institute

  • @iwanttocrashmybike im an atheist and i kind of agree with you on that " never think for yourself" part.

  • @iwanttocrashmybike Never think for yourself... Why, that is a very noble thought. People who think only for themselves are selfish characters.

  • @Hanssama lmao!!=-)

  • @iwanttocrashmybike

    That's just what Jesus said!

  • He looks like a bad touch Pastor...

  • Brilliant! As always the good Doctor says it better and more clearly than anyone. I'd like him to be compulsory part of every school child's scientific education, especially in the so-called 'faith' schools.

  • I liked his tie better when I thought it had a pterosaur on it -rather than the hawk? Eagle?

  • Once again, Dr. Dawkins, you have struck me with awe.

  • Comment rernoved.

  • @dinkipooxa In among all of your garbled, superfluos wording, do you have something to offer ?

The yoda reference was because of...

'a motive it still is, said yoda....what is yours ?' - instead of the wording 'it is still a motive'...

if you take the time to listen to yoda's lines, you will see he switches words around in a sentence - just as I did...inspired by him, the literary device adopted mainly because it is your way, and that yoda is fitting as a wise character.

  • @dinkipooxa implicitly impractical or not, a motive it still is, said yoda....what is yours ?

  • @dinkipooxa More poetic, hi-falutin offerings that amount to little.

  • @dinkipooxa Your hi-falutin offering does not even accurately critique what he was stating, and as I say your descriptive wording was unnecessarily over the top and cluttered in the process.

Should you wish to actually discuss any aspects of what RD is about (evolutionary biology) I am happy to reciprocate.

  • @dinkipooxa Perhaps they will cross again...I suspect it will not be much use though...

  • @dinkipooxa 'Comment removed'

    - what comment did you make here ?

  • Professor Richard Dawkins M.A., D. Phil., Dr. Sc., FRS, FRSL

  • @ 23 minutes I think Dawkins made a mistake in his terms. Negative reinforcement is not punishment. It is still reinforcement. It is said to be "negative" because it acts as reinforcement by removing an unwanted circumstance (for instance, reinforcing good behavior in a child by removing a previous punishment).

  • So his bigotry is worse than Stalin's, Hitler's, KKK members', & the extremists of religion? Apparently you have a very loose and bigoted definition of what the word even means... Him or anyone speaking their opinion w/o any other purpose than to spread knowledge and rationality. Weather someone is religious or not, Dawkins' intelligence & passion for what he does is admirable. This is what he loves, science. We should all be so fortunate to find that ourselves.

  • I try to ignore and not comment about this dawkins monkey but it is impossible after hearing a few sentences from him. He is the origin of the worst bigotry I have ever known!

  • Dawkins is a mastery of analogies that makes the science accessible to the rest of us. I love the idea of the body's antibodies being "memories" of an illness like chicken pox and anti-biotics being introduced to the body as "false memories", thus tricking the body.

  • his voice and birtish accent is awesome

  • An excellent video!

  • I found the moment at 1:46 - reading Darwin's final paragraph very touching and emotional, both from observing RD's own emotions in regard to it and my own....a beautiful moment of inspiration.

  • I can't even believe Dawkins would waste his time talking to Bill Oriley about evolution - so beautiful and so compelling....

  • at 25:23 he says an organism that does not have the same DNA as everything else... and I can't fain anything on the web about them... someone please help me find them... I spelled it "harem scariotes" or "harum scareotes" along with many other variations with no avail...

  • @KaslarProductions in his book it is writtem as harumscaryotes (all one word). This is obviously a fictitious organism, based on the context. But I do not know if he pulled the word from thin air or from somewhere in fiction. He has created terms before, so it wouldn't surprise me at all!

  • @kv3g Oh I see now... I thought they where real.....thanks for the reply. :)

  • What a badass tie. This man has inspired me to find myself one as awesome as that.

    Also, good talk.

  • Comment removed

  • Why does this man have to read his lecture? Like most very dull folks, he lacks spontaneity and therefore creativity. He should not try to talk about religion or anything philosophical.

  • @canada2D well, he can rest easy knowing he can reach people via bestselling books, constant worldwide lecture tours, and research work, rather than random youtube comment section criticisms.

  • @BillKiernan Well, we all know what kind of intellect is attracted to the popular these days, don't we.

  • @AxiomaticInfinity You would make a better God than Yahweh at least.

  • @AxiomaticInfinity you rule! finally someone who's interesting.

  • I'm a little bit confused about 1 thing. The religious gather to sing & pray because their holly books tell them to & also because they enjoy it . Why do atheists get together like this. Whats the purpose of these meeetings? Also what do you talk about, if your a nonbeliever then that's it, there's nothing more to say about it, it's like not collecting stamps or not believing in UFOs. Do you complain about religion, or is it a sort of social-bonding thing, to meet other like-minded people?

  • @STEPHENWRAYSFORD33 well..if i ever were to go, it would probably be to learn more about evolution and history or just to see how he thinks because he seems to be a pretty bright guy..and just listening to his way of thinking might be interesting, just like wanting to talk to Einstein or Stephen Hawking might be exciting just to see how they think. Of course he's probably not on the same level...but anyways in general it would be interesting to me for those two reasons

  • @STEPHENWRAYSFORD33 We talk about everything. A mind is like a parachute, They both work best when open. You only have 6,000 years of closed minded slavery to a diety, I have 3.5 billion years of live to discover, 4.5 billion years on our planet and nearly 15 billion years of the big bang. I'll never be bored.

  • @STEPHENWRAYSFORD33 Well it turns out that your desire to have fellowship with other people, for purposes other than economic, doesn't go away just because you stop believing in God. Why are there Lions Clubs or Moose Lodges? For that matter why does a secular charity like Doctors Without Borders exist, whose members risk their lives to aid others WITHOUT any belief in an eternal reward? Neither your social needs nor your charity and compassion go away if you chuck the fairy tales.

  • @STEPHENWRAYSFORD33 "Do you complain about religion, or is it a sort of social-bonding thing, to meet other like-minded people?" mostly we figure out ways to fight the civilization-stunting effects of religious fundamentalism.

  • Oh Dawkins, You're such a dreamboat.

  • Our universe and "the matrix" are both environments based on laws and often compared in discussions regarding our certainty of anything. Are we in a virtual reality? The only difference to note is that they broke out of the matrix and could prove it. Have we broken any laws of our universe yet? Maybe we are already at the topmost reality. But there are some interesting ideas suggesting our universe is inside another in a higher dimension that we cannot reach yet.

  • @TekLok Actually in the Matrix movie there's no proof cited in the plot that when they break out of the Matrix that that 'reality' isn't just another layer in the Matrix!

  • @mikeyo1234 Right because Neo is able to see the "code" even after his eyes are scorched. But maybe it doesn't matter what a reality or universe is composed of but its more a matter of how deep or complex it goes. I think people are scared of VR for the same reasons they are scared of cloning. Its just misunderstanding.

  • brilliant summary to a great book.

  • @tomitstube Nahhh. Brilliant promotion of a prejudiced money spinner. Ive got nothing against Dawks, but he's not an honest man and he's also well known to be afraid of open debate. Put him in an atheist convention and yes indeed, he's shit-hot. But put him in a room with a real scientist like me and he's got nothing to say. But yeah, he's certainly on a book tour.

  • @RyanTheChristian ~ ooh, richard dawkins must be trembling. so what's you specialty there pumpkin? you got some sky fairy fossils in your basement?

  • @tomitstube Trembling? What in the hell are you talking about? My speciality is scientific and logical thought and, uniquely it seems, a genuinely open mind. Dawks may be intelligent but A: he's afraid of open debate and B: he's trying to get rich selling his theories to mugs like you. Read some criticism of Dawkins and you'll see what I mean. Theories (not very good ones a lot of the time) spun into a book so that Dawks doesn't have to get a proper job. Congratulations, you sap.

  • @RyanTheChristian ~ you're a delusional wannabe. "scientific and logical thought"? sounds like an inflated title of opinion? gee, we don't have enough creationists with an uneducated understanding of science.

what are your credentials buffoon? the theories in his book aren't his dumbass, their peer reviewed facts from several scientific fields and supported by numerous scientists he interviewed. and he IS an ethologist and biologist.

try reading the book, it's obvious you haven't.

  • @tomitstube I've read all his books and the reviews and the responses, and I've written to Dawkins going through the flaws one by one (and there were many). His arguments are based on assumptions and very unscientific, very prejudiced assumptions. YOU read the book. Then read the Oxford Grammar Guide you illiterate scum. THEN come at me with your amateur atheism.

  • @RyanTheChristian ~ lol, if you've read his book why so vague? i'm sorry, what field did you say you were in? "scientific and logical thought". i'm not familiar with that field of study, where did you go to school?

i'm thinking 'restraining order' on your ass if i were dawkins.

  • @tomitstube Vague? Ask me a question you tit and I'll answer it. You want a damn review in 500 characters or less? Very reasonable of you. And they say atheists don't believe in miracles! Restraining order on my ass? Well you're not Dawkins, Tom, you're Tom, a pimple on the anus of humanity. Now take your amateur atheism and get the hell out of here. Read the God Delusion or something. Anything that takes your from this place where you embarrass yourself.

  • @RyanTheChristian ~ the only thing "embarrassing" is your fake credential in the study of "scientific and logical thought". are you even capable of humility? it's obvious you're full of shit but you continue pretend to be someone you're not. i did ask questions, where did you go to school and study "scientific and logical thought"? care to finally answer?

  • @tomitstube Oxford. Next question. Qualifications? PHD, so that's DOCTOR fullofshit to you, pimples. What about you? Nerdly 6th form? What you got? An NVQ? Well do forgive me, professor. I didn't realise I was speaking to an intellectual. Damn kids blocking up the debate.

  • @RyanTheChristian ~ lmao, "oxford"? so why waste all your time here on the internet with little ole me? after an oxford education you still believe in the great spaghetti monster? ok...

ok. i'll bite, i know i'll regret this because i know you're a fake. and a blowhard. so tell me oxford educated, in lol, "scientific and logical thought", why is there no evidence of a world flood, or evidence of everything dying at once, and no evidence of a migration from mount ararat in turkey?

  • @tomitstube Wow, you have a real inferiority complex there. Does only the scum of society frequent YouTube then? Based on the replies I get here, I'm forced to concur. No evidence of a world flood? What do you want, photos? Provide a photo of your mind and I'll give you a photo of a world flood. If you want real answers then engage me in a debate in private (where there is no 500 letter restriction) and I'll shut you up, or at least give you something to think about. Truly, it's a waste here.

  • @tomitstube Oh, and for the sake of clarity, of course I've never studied at Oxford. Does that mean I am unable to think clearly and logically? Take a look at my favourites. You'll see that I am extremely open minded and not at all a Bible basher. I love Dawkins. The man is brilliant. But he's on a book tour and he's afraid there's going to be a bit of that. I love it. Every time I click on this video to reply to you, there it is. "I'm on a book tour." LOL

  • @RyanTheChristian Doctor fullofshit suits you nicely.

  • @TerranSiegeTank Why, thank you.

  • @RyanTheChristian " Oxford. Next question. Qualifications? PHD, so that's DOCTOR fullofshit to you, pimples" troll.

  • @RyanTheChristian "illiterate scum." how christlike you are.

  • @BillKiernan Fuck you, wingnut. I'm a Christian, not The Christ himself. The sooner you morons get that the better. You people cry "oh that's not very Christian is it?" like the skinny kid at school cries "miiiiiiiiiiss!"

Well grow up. We're not the Messiah.

  • @RyanTheChristian oh i'm not crying, i'm laughing. at you.

  • @BillKiernan Congratulations.

  • @RyanTheChristian So you're hiding behind the excuse that you're not Jesus, allowing you to be not as "good" as him? That's just pathetic...

  • @champjklccmk No, spunky, that's not what I'm saying. I'm not "as good" as Jesus whatever happens. That's how it works. It is NOT POSSIBLE to be "as good" as Jesus. Your mistake - numbnuts - is thinking that by default I should be "as good" but failing, whereas the truth of it - and this is why I'm a better human being than you - is that I'm NOT "as good" as Jesus but I try.

Now tell that to all your other little atheist buddies, prick.

  • @RyanTheChristian Interesting... After mucking through all those words you seem to think implies intelligence, you have only vindicated my post... You say you're better than us because you try? If that was all it took to be above everyone else, then a murderer can TRY to be good and in failure commit to killing anyway... That's just sad... If you really were the good little nut that you claim, you wouldn't make excuses but actually do the deed... For example, not calling people names...

  • @champjklccmk Learn a bit about human nature instead of being under the supremely fucking illusory idea that you know everything and then come back and talk to me. Answer me this; if YOU embraced God and became a Christian, HOW YOU YOU DO? Would you all of a sudden become a perfect human being? No, cuntface, you would not.

You've just been educated, now get fucked.

  • @RyanTheChristian Oh, your god would certainly approve of your approach... You know, I've never met any christian who has strengthened our stance on your god more than you... We say the god of the christians is a douche-bag and embracing said douche-bag makes one a douche-bag... The evidence? YOU! Congratulations! At least your life wasn't a complete waste of space... You served as an example on how religion is all full of shit...

  • @champjklccmk Don't feel like answering the question? Feel like ignoring the evidence? Well fuck me, what a blinding example of science YOU are! You just got butt fucked by a Christian who taught you not only that you're a prick - but also exactly WHY you're a prick and now you're reduced to trying to re-assert yourself in the Atheist pack with playground reasoning. Well I've got news for you, Charlie, everyone can still see your shit on my cock.

Now. Are you getting the picture?

  • @RyanTheChristian Is this sort of thing Jesus would do?

  • @st1cklebr1ck I wouldn't know. The only source I have on Jesus is the Bible and all the books that have been written about the Bible. And as the Bible is at least 50% man-made, corrupt, evil, anti-Christian vitriol, I - AND YOU - need to keep an open mind. All I know is that this prick needs a verbal slap and I'm the servant of God to give him it.

Take good care, and may God Our Father, the only God, the One God, the God of all Gods, bless us both with forgiveness.

  • @RyanTheChristian I think it's 100% man made, written for what ever political purpose the authors had in mind. I don't think there is anything divine in the bible. If I wasn't an atheist I'd think Richard Dawkins was God!

  • @st1cklebr1ck Well you're right, Sticklebrick, it is 100% man made (well, probably). You may also be right about there being no divinity in the Bible, but that's really besides the point - we may never know for sure. The point should always be: is the evidence for non-creation stronger than the evidence for creation? I would say most certainly not, as what constitutes as something "non-created"?

And yeah, Dawks is alright. But he's on a book tour. Never forget that. And he wants YOUR money.

  • @RyanTheChristian Question? What question? The only question I can find in your posts is the one you already answered yourself... And I think my last reply was an answer in itself, although in different context... BTW, all you taught me was how much turd one can fit into one's head... In your case; A LOT... But feel free to go about your day carrying an undeserved sense of accomplishment over this debacle... It's not much different than what you normally do anyway based on your replies...

  • @champjklccmk This is my final reply. I'm guessing you're a teenager so I'm not going to be too hard on you. I've verbally destroyed you & to such an extent that for the last four or five posts you've offered no reply to my various well-made point, nor even made a random point of your own about anything which supports your irrationally religious world view.

Therefore I have won the argument and, whatever you choose to say next in pointless defence, people can read for themselves and decide :)

  • @RyanTheChristian I LOL'd so hard when you said you verbally destroyed me... You didn't destroy anything mister... Well, maybe your credibility and dignity, but you didn't have much of those to begin with so it's not much of a loss... And again, I fail to see any well-made points coming from you... Maybe they're so obscure, only a muddled mind can see them; i.e. yours? Because I would be happy to have a half-decent conversation other than what comes from your shit-fountain of a mouth... Ciao!

  • @champjklccmk Haha. I will ALLOW YOU to have the final word.

    ---Drum roll---

    Take it away.

  • @RyanTheChristian Oh, that's very generous of you... Though to be honest, I don't feel very comfortable accepting anything from you... It would be like accepting sex from someone whom you KNOW has STD... But what the heck... Knowing you, it took a lot of effort to even put on this much of a front and hold back on the "You're going to hell" theme right? Don't worry, I won't let your sacrifice go to waste... Later douche-bag!

  • @champjklccmk Actually, numbnuts, I don't believe in hell. The Bible in my heart speaks to me as well as the one in yours speaks to you.

Saying all Christians are the same is like me saying all Japanese smell like fish, or all black people are lazy.

    It's prejudiced bullshit.

  • @RyanTheChristian ahahahahaha.... and BANG goes your virtue... my goodness, you really have a knack for making a fool of yourself don't you? and you saying that you're not like other christians isn't that surprising as you can barely agree on anything... now it's my turn to give you the last word... and unlike you, I'll keep that promise... sayonara, baka!

  • @champjklccmk Thank fuck for that. You are one boring cunt.

  • @RyanTheChristian Why all this commotion and fuss, if you really believe in a god, why do you care what others believe?

  • @TheBadunka I don't give a rat's ass what anyone else believes, Badunka. In fact I am thrilled by the variety of forms God takes all across the civilised (and uncivilised!) world.

That fellow I was arguing with was just a mouthy kid who I had to put in his place. He thought he was clever because he's watched a Dawkins video once and I felt the need to correct that delusion.

You make a good point, though. Why the hell does anyone care what anyone else believes?

  • @RyanTheChristian "Why the hell does anyone care what anyone else believes?" Because christians are fundamentally evil. they created racism, they engage in genocide. the world we live in is what happens when a cult (or two) rises to power, becomes socially acceptable, and dominates earth.

  • @RyanTheChristian we probably 'care' for social survival reasons or some combination of that & just survival in general. belief isn't the issue, but rather how strong that belief is, the level of conviction & if there is or can be a danger from it. that's why certain people that are religious are looked at as less dangerous than others, soley do to their level of conviction to their belief system. its not the belief, but how far they are willing to go to live by it or force it upon the world.

  • @TheBadunka they need recuing and blahblahblah

  • @RyanTheChristian god sucks my cock

  • @nuitaridark And your mum suck mine. Have a nice day.

  • @champjklccmk i agree with u

  • @RyanTheChristian what has he been dishonest about?

  • i think as atheists we need to show some dignity and intellect when posting on sites like this. other ppl read this stuff and it gives them ammunition to use against us. do we really want to act like the crazy religious ppl do? it doesnt help our cause when ppl come on here and act like immature children. prof dawkins would be very disappointed in some of you ppl.

  • @sothis48 Atheists are individuals, many do not subscribe to a single collective behavioural norm. Why would they all do anything or not? I tend to be polite to everyone until I think they deserve being taken down a peg or two and then I'll let rip. No one is going to tell me not to do it and no one has the right to try.

  • I love the pride he tries to hide when people clap to something actually worth clapping for.

  • @mfunke Thanks for pointing this out! ^^

  • So much awesome in one men.

  • @LordOfTheObvious PLUS he wears the badest ties ever made

  • @dreadedhalo lol yeah... there seems to be a correlation between intelligence and poor fashion sense. Maybe it's because such people have something better to do than chase the latest socially revered fabric configurations ;)

  • @LordOfTheObvious in one man u mean

  • I have evidence, and so do you, old bean. But while I examine evolution and Big Bangs and magic particles (I'd examine quantum physics too if the summaries I've read weren't so indicative of a damn sci fi storyline) you dismiss my evidence. And worst of all you're just vomitting up lines from the God Delusion in defence. The God Delusion is so flawed that I'm CERTAIN that one day, if you develop an open mind, you'll come to recognise it for what it is: a money-spinning atheist bible.

  • @RyanTheChristian Yes I'm sure you've heard a thing or 2 about evolution and quantum physics. Maybe when you grow a brain you can re-examine them. Or you can stick to the bible.

  • @seebe22 Do you dribble when you speak?

  • @RyanTheChristian No, I'm not a Christian. Do you masturbate to the old testament?

  • @seebe22 Yeah. I love it.

  • @RyanTheChristian

    I love defecating on it.

  • @Averagegamer100 Seems like a strange place to defecate.

  • @RyanTheChristian Well, I do it in the bathroom.

  • @seebe22 crap! sorry i voted down until i saw you were replying to something else... an idiot... i read that one wrong! sorry again! *votes up*!

  • just saw the new synthetic cell technology on TED

  • so now they can make a new Craig Venter..

  • When you pause this video as it opens, Dawkins looks like he's been raped in the bushes outside the conference.

  • Extremely low class debate in the comment section on a video of such a brilliant man.

  • @omnissient Another dickhead who hasn't bothered to actually read any of it. You look really stupid now. Congrats.

  • @RyanTheChristian I see that you re harrassing everyone here in the comment section. You really show what christians are like. You seem like a troll. Like most christians.

There was a time were christians believed in humility and decency and in love. The modern christian just spews out stuff like "Hahaha you ll go to hell s4cker".

  • @omnissient No, Omni, I'm not. I was trying to discuss the topic at hand (check out the months of posts and you'll see for yourself). I don't argue for God, nor Jesus, nor religion. I argue (1) for a creator of the universe, whoever or whatever that may be, and (2) to rub in the fact that Dawkins is "on a book tour" and that he's "sorry but there's going to be a bit of that." That's all. Plus I'll bring idiocy to the attention of idiots, too. I see it as my right because I'm more highly evolved.

  • I think Charles Darwin would be thrilled someone as brilliant as Richard Dawkins is carrying on and spreading his theory across the world.

  • dawkins looks like he just had a wank

    makes sense. evolution is sexy

  • Oy, that was beautifull....

  • @dishonostyfromharris are you suggesting atheism and anti-theism are the same thing?

  • Why Richard never mentions Nikola Tesla in his speeches of previous minds and accomplished scientists who left their knowledge and genius to humanity? :(

  • @mickeypopa

because tesla was also off his rocker.

  • @pyr666

Is that how you describe the man who invented alternating current, wireless technology, neon lights, and so many other groundbreaking inventions?

So what if he had personal issues? What does that have to do with his contributions to humankind? Are you are perfect so you can judge others?

To see how many Americans, let alone New Yorkers, know nothing about the man who lived in their country (and city) and gave so much to the advance of technology, is simply shameful and disappointing.

  • @mickeypopa

newton created calculus and basically wrote the laws of physics, Einstein created an entire branch of science.

tesla was an inventor. granted a very successful one, but to put him on the same tier as newton would be more than a bit absurd.

  • @pyr666

You have no idea what you're talking about.

That is painfully obvious from your statement.

Also, you are shamefully uninformed and arrogant as well.

  • @mickeypopa

insults without substance. try harder next time.

  • @pyr666

No need to try again. I already pointed out your failure.

Nice try with the rhetoric there, doesn't work on me though.

  • @mickeypopa

you say I don't know what im talking about, yet say nothing of what i supposedly don't know.

you call me arrogant, yet i made no statement about myself.

if you want to prove something, you need evidence.

  • @pyr666

All the evidence is in your comments.

You don't need to make a statement about yourself, because this isn't about you.

The way you talk about a man who made possible for you to switch on a light bulb and a PC and type these comments here is sufficient for me to know your state of mind and behavior is indeed arrogant.

No one is trying to belittle Newton or Einstein. Why do you belittle Tesla?

Even unit for magnetic induction is T (Tesla).

    See en(dot)wikipedia(dot)org/wiki/Tesla_%28unit%29

  • @mickeypopa

computers use DC, ac would make them explode. (your psu has a converter)

comparing newton and tesla IS belittling newton. that's entirely my point.

though i find your hypocracy interesting. making yourself feel big by insulting me and claiming I'm the one belittling people. really, the irony is almost palpable.

  • @pyr666

Haha and DC is converted from what? From AC.

You just said it. Without AC, DC would never reach you.

No one here compared Newton and Tesla.

Btw, the fact that you write their names with 1st small letter shows the level of your ignorance and disrespect.

Also, I am not belittling you, although you may feel the world revolves around you.

Let me assure you, it does not.

Pointing out to one's mistakes is not to belittle one, but to inform one so he/she may change his/hers stance.

  • @pyr666

i just realized where this whole conversation went horribly wrong. i criticized your idea, and you came after me. and i got sucked into it >,<

  • @pyr666

Yeah, poor you. You got sucked into a conversation, imagine that.

What terrible evil things those conversations are....who needs a conversation anyway, eh?

Probably only those pesky belittling people who actually care about every scientist who accomplished something for others, and who stand up and try to give merits to each according to his work, and not just put a few on pedestal and call it a day.

But I'm also a liar? Where exactly did I tell a lie about Tesla?

    Feel free to quote me.

  • @mickeypopa

not the conversation that's the problem. i mean i actually got offended, and let the conversation move onto that point rather than the actual issue.

    and i already quoted you.

  • @pyr666

I said quote me where I lied about Tesla. Do you have a problem reading English too? Here you go again, twisting this around to be the victim.

I don't know how to stress this enough, but this is NOT about you.

It's about your condescending and arrogant comment on Tesla.

    So it's actually about Tesla.

I don't get it that you don't get it, to put it comically.

I also said telling average Joe that he/she IS an average Joe is NOT belittling, it's setting the record straight. Are you not?
