O leão só come animais inofensivos para o ser humano, por isso acho que se juntarem todo mundo animais e homens a banirem os leões de uma vez por todas do habitat terrestre
The reason that Lions are king of beasts is because they are top of the food chain, Elephants don't see Lions as a food source do they? so they cannot be called king of beasts, whereas Lions view pretty much every animal as a food source..including Elephants.
A crawfish would eat a dead elephant. How many of them would it take to kill a full grown elephant? Same thing applies to lions. Sure they eat elephants, as well as anything else they can kill, but it takes several of them to bring down a single animal in most cases. Additionally, they usually try to separate one from the herd or go for a youngling or a wounded target, and even then, they have to use a surprise attack. They are cowards and scavengers, hardly fit for the title "king".
@JurisArcane yea they are scavengers some of the time but theyre shouldnt be called "cowards"
yea they usually use more than 1 lion to hunt but thats how they use strategy to take down theyre prey and just because they run away from an elephant doesnt mean theyre cowards
elephants are much larger than lions and can easily kill one same thing with humans
take our guns knives and every weapon we have and we wont stand a chance against many animals
@HeadlessEye Lions killed more elephants than lions have killed them. True fact that the only advantage an elephant has is its size. but lions are smart and as soon as night falls, they hunt and use their night vision skills to take the elephants down. The more elephant blood they taste, the more bolder they become. So that's points for the lions.
gr8, thnx... i know of one video where it almost ended up this way - pride of lions (lionesses i guess) took down an elephant cow by a water-pool (the herd has left some time ago)... they were trying to get through her skin to the flesh... after couple of minutes when it looked like the game is over she stood up again on her feet and left in the darkness
it was very moving - some poetry was read instead of classic commenting - although i don't like poetry at all this was just very moving like i already said
actually is the opposite the lioness is the hunter, the male would just wonder around protecting his territory, but when the male lion is around and the lioness are trying to take a big pray, that is when the male lion comes to do his job...the male lion with his pride could kill any animal they want even an elephant, there is a video in here where the lion kills a real elephant..That is why the lion is call the king of the jungle because they aren't scare of anything...
If we are nothing then how did our ancestors survive without guns or weapons. We are the smartest species on this planet. We are the dominant spiecies.
we are king of the wild. we are earths most dangerous species. even with out guns we can create blades weapons tools that could even kill a full grown elephant. our brains is wat makes us king of the wild and most dangerous species.
@civilisationskerl Lions kill African elephants. Though they use obviously strategy. Lions are nocturnal and they know elephants have a disadvantage of seeing an ambush at night. That would mean the elephant's only predator is the lion. That would mean the lion is the undisputed king! What other animal is known to kill and eat African elephants? Oh and I can show you some videos where lions kill and eat elephants.
@Fullmetalx51 well tigers can kill asian elephants so they can probably kill african elephants IF their habitat change and now live in africa and might grow bigger knowing that african lions are larger versions of asiatic lions
@Fullmetalx51 tigers are solitary creatures most of their lives and are known to kill asian elephants so yeah there might be video if i could find but im too lazy to lol
@unknownnarutofan fact, seriously, how do you think a tiger can kill a full grown elephant? I suppose they just jump on their backs and scratch them to death? Or maybe tigers have super strength now? Be more realistic. A tiger dealing with smaller elephants, I can believe, but a full grown bull, let alone an African bull? There's no recorded video of a tiger tacking a full grown elephant. I can understand lions taking them down, because of their teamwork, but alone that's something to see.
@Fullmetalx51 yea thats why i said a few tigers could probably kill an elephant may be more is needed but theyre usually solitary creatures so they are most likely not to work together
I did watch a documentary once where in a certain part of africa a pride of lions have been killing young elephants & sometimes even a grown female..they also wait till a bull elephant is old/sick & can't defend itself..it was horrific as lions usually suffocate their victims & bcs they couldn't with a bull elephant they ate it alive..it went on for days..one of the most disturbing footages i've ever seen
You guys are stupid. Lions attack and eat elephants at night because they have better adventage in the dark. It might take them 30 to bring a elephant down but it happens. Dont forget... King of the jungle

But because of our brains (except for you) MAN will always be the superior lifeform because we can organize better & make tools & fire, etc. Do you finally understand now, or should I find the nearest 6yo to explain it to you?
"could you survive on the african plains? or any other wilderness. im afraid you or i wouldnt make it very long, we are quite spoiled, weak, and we have forgotten the ways of our ancestors"
crocutta - Sorry, but you're a Grade-A moron. When someone writes "man" in this context, it's meant as man as a species. When someone writes "man, organized," it's meant as groups of men, as we have always lived.
If what you say is true, none of us would be here, because we all came from Africa.
guys its not about the size its about the strengh...imagine can a fat human beat a strong muscle human...of course NO...Strong is ruling ,fat is nothing..Muscle rules...
ELEPHANT IS NO.1 POWER ANIMAL IN WORLD.. THIS IS ANIMAL POWER best 10 in the world.. 1. africa male elephant (power 100) 2. india male elephant (power 85) 3. male rhinoceros (power 60) 4. male hippo (power 45) 5. siberia male tiger (power 25) 6. male polar bear (power 20) 7. grizzly male bear (power 18) 8. afica male lion (power 16) 9. bengal male tiger (power 15) 10. nile corcodile (power 10) * human (power 1)
well i deffiniatly think your wrong...1 humans are strong because we have high intellect and a Polar Bear could probably take a hippo a rhino and maybe an indian elephant(they are pretty damn small) and A Kodiak(giant ass Grizzly) is almost the same...The biggest Kodiak found was close to 3k lbs...
--I'll give you that, and most of the rest. But that's on sheer 1 on 1 physical strength (& claws/teeth). But sheer size & strength are only part of the equation in killing power. Don't forget killer bees in swarms, sharks, jellyfish, snakes, & spiders are extremely deadly. Even mosquitos, carrying malaria, can kill 10,000 people.
Here's a comparable list for you:
1. Man, organized & prepared, with tools of his making.
First of all male lions are the king of the beasts not lions like it's females too. Also, that's just because we call them that. That really doesn't mean shit. Elephants could kick a lion's ass anyday.
It takes a minimum 4 daring lions to take on any single elephant that's been weaned & up to the age of 10. And only in times of extreme desperation coupled with unusually bold and populous pride, do lions take on full grown elephants; And they do. It's well documented. a large pride was known to kill 4 elephants of varied ages & sizes in a 23hrs period. One of them was an adult female. It was on you tube for a while. One of the record breaking kills, had the lions prying a--
((2))prying a super huge bull, a younng transitioning male, & an average female {but seemingly young & easilly spooked} from a pac that was large enough to defend itself from any predation if it stood its ground. There were small babies in the center of the pack. The young male sensing that he was the ideal target for bold lions, went on the offensive against the lions who were just lingering around the water hole. When the lion sensed the fear, they started circling and tornting the youngster--
Have you been trampled by any, ever? Why not?The answer to that last question is @ the heart of my statement. "Elephants are too SLUGGISH to catch up to a healthy grown lion". How is the elephant gonna trample a lion it cant reach? magic? When lions hunt elethant, the lions dont give the elephant a chance to to strike at them. They gang on its hind legs, butt, & back. As the elephant tires, they start biting the sides avoiding the front. <<<FACTS
That lions hunt elephants is a well DOCUMENTED Fact. Go search it out. On you tube; under "LIONS vs ELEPHANTS". The one that showed them killing a huge grown female is gone. The most shocking one to me, was a documentation that showed a huge pride successfully spoofing off most of the pac, then wearing down the mother's defenses to exhaustion & SUCCESSFULLY killing a baby a few days old. THAT'S HUNTING! I thought it NOT possible for a predator to SUCCESSFULLY plock a baby elefant from its family
Of course ELEPHANTS can trample LIONS almost as easilly as they can trample humans. But it doesn't happen, not known to have happened anyway. Or not documented yet. But the point is, LIONS hunt elephants & eat elephant for sustainance. Even African cape buffalows can & have been documented many times killing lions of all ages & sizes. The argument is not about the power & ability of the elephant; but about what actually happens. Having said all that, such hunts are unusual & circumstance driven.
What you don't seem to understand FOOL is we're talking about one on one. Oh sure, 55 lions can beat one elephant. I saw that video here on youtube to where a large- a ss pride took about 2 hours to kill 1 elephant. What you don't seem to understand is elephants usually hang out in groups to and no way would a pride of lions try to take on a elephants in their groups. And if it were on one and the lion came behind an elephant it would get injured due the elephant falling on it or stepping on it
You are getting emotionally attached to elephants & confusing yourself, MORON!
Like I stated previously, lions will taunt a pac to provoke the easilly agitated elephants in the pac to charge, attack and give chase. All the while, the elephants are tiring & getting spread out. Eventually, on a successful hunt, the pac panics & start fleeing, since the ideal target for the lions are the young males between 8 & 15 yrs which also happen to be the group that brings the
2)rear of the pac.Prying these outskirt pac members from the group that they are in the process of being evicted from anyway, is not always impossible. It's still a hard, undertaking, even for a large pride. All elephants have some inherent residual primal fear of lions. I once saw a huge bull get chased for by a single lioness. It happened when the bull caught a whiff of the lioness as she was cuddling with her new cubs in a bush of thickeths. The bull went to the bush to see what's up.
(3)The lioness looked up & saw a huge elephant stairing at her. Surprised, the lioness growl terrifyingly @ the elephant who got so spooked, it took off running as fast as it could looking back by turning its head left then right every 2 to 4 seconds making sure it has the lioness in sight at all times. The bull was seemingly so SCARED. It was hard to swallow why a 7ton+ {14,000lbs+} animal even runs from a mere 360lbs one that should be no threat; But after years of seeing hundreds of
(4)documentaries on elephant-lions interactions, it all falls into place & it begins to make sense. Male elephants are slow but steadilly evicted from the pac starting at about 8-10yrs old. At around these times, they are still full part of the pac, but they keep mostly to the out skirt of the group. As they get older, they stay further away from the center of the group. Eventually, they are out right driven away and they follow the pac out of
(5)sight but by sound & smell. During this stage of their life, they are most vulnerable to lions attack. Many of them survive such encounters with tails, & sometimes part of the ears bitten off. It's a serious trying time for them. Hyenas even mess with them. This is when they develope the strong HATE, FEAR, & RESPECT for LIONS, KING of all beasts! Ideally, they form or join a bachelor pac of immature males of varied sizes & ages. Such groups are not solid & individuals join & leave.
(6)While they will defend each other, such defenses are usually not as good as the ones the mothers put up for each other, and the core pac members.
So, yes, LIONS do hunt elephant in a group or pac. The smaller the numbers in the group, the more likely the hunt and the easier. For each scenario, there's a pride of lion out there with a tactic. LIONS RULE!
Of course their strength is in #s when it comes to preys the size of a cape buffalo or larger. So what! THATS PART OF THEIR NATURE.
(7)Theres a highly credible theory that savanah African elephants form groups of mothers to join their defense against lions & hyenas. That shows enormous respect for the lions by the elephants, on the other hand, lions have made NO known adjustments to their lifestyle on account of elephants.
What the heck does one on one mean? You gonna tie an elephant & a lion down in a cage? Why would a lion want to go 1 on1 with a huge elephant any way? The PRIDE does cause it'll feed a lot of mouth. WORD!
elephant wins..... no wonder loins are related to pussy cats......if you got a problem with that hit me up at 703-901-4654 i will throw your ass with a hungry elephant see if your pussy loin come to save you.....
Im yet to see a single elephant killing, hunting, or eating a lion. But I have seen many cases of lions hunting, killing and eating elephants of varied ages that go all the way up to adults. NO land animal is safe from a hungry, determined, overly confident, huge pride number of lions. NOT even a POLAR/GRIZZLY BEARS or a SIBERIAN tiger will survive the onslaught of said pride. LIONS as a family RULE. Thats why there are NO TIGERS in AFRICA!
Funny how you cannot comprehend what someone is trying to tell your simplistic ass. When did I ever say man was beast? Man is king of everything on earth.

"ELEPHANT IS NO.1 POWER ANIMAL IN WORLD"
--I'll give you that, and most of the rest.
2. All other animals.

First of all male lions are the king of the beasts not lions like it's females too. Also, that's just because we call them that. That really doesn't mean shit. Elephants could kick a lion's ass anyday.
Tonetare 4 years ago
lions explicitly means MALES, generally, it means the specy (cubs, females, as well as males); just like mankind equals male and female humans.
Secondly, elephants are too slggish to harm a healthy adult lion of any sex. It goes something like: before paco can harm leo, it must catch up to it.
Lions on the other hand, in sufficient numbers, can kill any land animal they willed. Irrefutable FACT!

I have a seen a bull chase away an entire pride
Tonetare 4 years ago
((1))yes of course.

When the lion sensed the fear, they started circling and tornting the youngster--

dude, an elephant could trample a lion. wtf r u talking about. just shut up. U know nothing
Tonetare 4 years ago
((1)) lephant can trample YOU & any other human.
<<<FACTS
ogasa4 4 years ago
That lions hunt elephants is a well DOCUMENTED Fact. Go search it out. On you tube; under "LIONS vs ELEPHANTS". The one that showed them killing a huge grown female is gone. The most shocking one to me, was a documentation that showed a huge pride successfully spoofing off most of the pac, then wearing down the mother's defenses to exhaustion & SUCCESSFULLY killing a baby a few days old. THAT'S HUNTING! I thought it NOT possible for a predator to SUCCESSFULLY plock a baby elefant from its family
ogasa4 4 years ago
Of course ELEPHANTS can trample LIONS almost as easilly as they can trample humans. But it doesn't happen, not known to have happened anyway. Or not documented yet. But the point is, LIONS hunt elephants & eat elephant for sustainance. Even African cape buffalows can & have been documented many times killing lions of all ages & sizes. The argument is not about the power & ability of the elephant; but about what actually happens. Having said all that, such hunts are unusual & circumstance driven.
ogasa4 4 years ago
What you don't seem to understand FOOL is we're talking about one on one. Oh sure, 55 lions can beat one elephant. I saw that video here on youtube to where a large- a ss pride took about 2 hours to kill 1 elephant. What you don't seem to understand is elephants usually hang out in groups to and no way would a pride of lions try to take on a elephants in their groups. And if it were on one and the lion came behind an elephant it would get injured due the elephant falling on it or stepping on it
Tonetare 4 years ago
(1)Tonetar, YOU ARE AN IDIOT!

Shut up! I will reply to u via e-mail because I don't want anything rearranged about my comments like what's happening here.
Tonetare 4 years ago
2)rear of the pac.Prying these outskirt pac members from the group that they are in the process of being evicted from anyway, is not always impossible. It's still a hard, undertaking, even for a large pride. All elephants have some inherent residual primal fear of lions. I once saw a huge bull get chased for by a single lioness. It happened when the bull caught a whiff of the lioness as she was cuddling with her new cubs in a bush of thickeths. The bull went to the bush to see what's up.
ogasa4 4 years ago
(3)The lioness looked up & saw a huge elephant stairing at her. Surprised, the lioness growl terrifyingly @ the elephant who got so spooked, it took off running as fast as it could looking back by turning its head left then right every 2 to 4 seconds making sure it has the lioness in sight at all times. The bull was seemingly so SCARED. It was hard to swallow why a 7ton+ {14,000lbs+} animal even runs from a mere 360lbs one that should be no threat; But after years of seeing hundreds of
ogasa4 4 years ago
(4)documentaries on elephant-lions interactions, it all falls into place & it begins to make sense. Male elephants are slow but steadilly evicted from the pac starting at about 8-10yrs old. At around these times, they are still full part of the pac, but they keep mostly to the out skirt of the group. As they get older, they stay further away from the center of the group. Eventually, they are out right driven away and they follow the pac out of
ogasa4 4 years ago
(5)sight but by sound & smell. During this stage of their life, they are most vulnerable to lions attack. Many of them survive such encounters with tails, & sometimes part of the ears bitten off. It's a serious trying time for them. Hyenas even mess with them. This is when they develope the strong HATE, FEAR, & RESPECT for LIONS, KING of all beasts! Ideally, they form or join a bachelor pac of immature males of varied sizes & ages. Such groups are not solid & individuals join & leave.
ogasa4 4 years ago
(6)While they will defend each other, such defenses are usually not as good as the ones the mothers put up for each other, and the core pac members.
So, yes, LIONS do hunt elephant in a group or pac. The smaller the numbers in the group, the more likely the hunt and the easier. For each scenario, there's a pride of lion out there with a tactic. LIONS RULE!
Of course their strength is in #s when it comes to preys the size of a cape buffalo or larger. So what! THATS PART OF THEIR NATURE.
ogasa4 4 years ago
(7)Theres a highly credible theory that savanah African elephants form groups of mothers to join their defense against lions & hyenas. That shows enormous respect for the lions by the elephants, on the other hand, lions have made NO known adjustments to their lifestyle on account of elephants.
What the heck does one on one mean? You gonna tie an elephant & a lion down in a cage? Why would a lion want to go 1 on1 with a huge elephant any way? The PRIDE does cause it'll feed a lot of mouth. WORD!
