i like how that koto-like instrument and whistle almost sound like mandola/banjo and tin whistle in Irish folk music - makes the world get together for music's sake somehow

You are right. Powerful. And the power of spirit can never be oppressed. Every human being has to recover his-her spiritual power, and human kind will be again free. We are all slaves of our own mind. Chinese or Tibetan, white or black, doesn't matter. How to reach freedom is shown by the great Indian and Tibetan masters.
