I am 34 and love this stuff.I even have Tiffany's Colour of Silence Album and the Greatest Hit's one.One day when I do my next Asia Trip I hope to add to the collection
I love music like this and I am a thirty something so can appreciate classy sounds that are easy to drive to like Tiffany. The Bubble Gum Pop Princesses of today can't hold a shine to their 80's predecessors.A little sad her albums are very getting outside of the USA very hard to find.
I cannot even tell you what this song does to me. It's not just that I grew up with Jetsons the movie.. but the entire chord progression, her voice, those early 90s electric guitar pop ballad solos. ugh. The bridge on this song gives me chills
That song was Judy's heart-break in words and it would have been sung to Cosmic Cosmo. But it was also her failure in her love life after Cosmic Cosmo broke her heart.
i just watched the jetsons movie on tv, i went to eat and tought i'd turn on the tv. I ended up staying in front of it untill the end of the movie and then searching all songs to download them. I was born too late xD(1994).
Steve Carras... To make a comment to say Tiffany sucks is equivalent to saying the sun doesn't shine or the ocean is a dry element. If you have nothing nice to say about Tiff, then why make a negative comment at all. As far as I'm concerned, she is one of the best female vocalist ever.
I remember when the jetsons movie came out in 1990, i was so excited to find out that the voice of judy jetson was tiffany! i used to rewind the scene in the movie when she's singing this part in the mall lol. Tiffany was my favorite in the 80's, you either liked tiffany or that bubble gum crap debbie gibson! Here it is 2011 and im 33 and i still love Tiffany!!
Just recently, I opened my heart to someone I cared about for nearly 13 years. Never had the courage to do so, and when I did.... completely exploded in my face. And the lyrics of this song.... they fit so much right now.
Nice guys finish last..... in my case, I never made to the starting line.
@kojikatsuya I too knew I was doomed, and so didn't even show up at the pit garage. I like to equate it to me being at a gambling table, and when I meet someone I really like, I throw all my assets on the table and say here is what I have to offer. Then the cards are delt, I loose and they walk away laugh at me, knowing what I would've done for them. I finally gave up 5 years ago and said to hell with it, and I'm much happier, and haven't looked back since.
@ILoveJenni47 I just didn't see the point of pursuing the impossible. I finally said, ok, I gave it my very best shot, and that all anyone could ask of me. I then went out and bought something that I care for as much as I would another person, and that was a sports car. I'm now much happier. All the time and love I could've given to someone, I now focus on my automobiles, movies, and of course my music, especially my Tiffany collection. I treat my Tiffany collection with the upmost care...
I was a 90's kid the first time i heard this song was from the Jetsons movie and is also the reason i looked for it, i miss the 90's music, movies, and culture things just seemed more wholesome then, everything now just seems fake and overdone i don't know if I'm the only one who feels this way but there it is.
Ah, Tiffany. You could dub her the MIley Cyrus of the 80s. Every kid at that time was crazy about her. But kids today...you ask them who Tiffany is, they won't know jack sh*t of who you're talking about. And in the 2020s, kids around then won't know jack sh*t of who Miley Cyrus is either. These kid stars just come and go like the wind. Kind of sad really.
@CharlesXavier Except that Miley Cyrus's vocals are auto-tuned, she has an irritating run-of-the-mill voice, songs that lack substance, is a lousy role model and acts more like a stripper on stage than a singer. Tiffany was from the last era in which teen idol singers could actually sing, and at least tried to be good role models. Today, anyone can become a teen idol if they look good enough and have the money machine behind them.
@ILoveJenni47 Why I still with the 80s and 90s music and the early 2000 this stuff out now just sucks and singers now copy music from bands from the 80s and 90s.
@ben5leto With all due respect, my friend. But let's see in 20 years time and ask people around what they thought of Miley Cyrus by then. ANy fan of MIley Cyrus would likely say: "Oh, Miley's voice is a gazillion times better than (insert name of annoying teen bop singer in the 2030s)."
Idk about that because Tiffany is an 80s rocker chick and all the kids who use to listen to her music look back and still love it But miley is a pop singer who so many people dislike and when the kids who liked her music grow up they are going to wonder why they ever liked her. I've seen it a lot of the time.
@ben5leto You might be right, but we can't be certain either way. I'm not a psychic, you know. But either way, Miley's fun to ridicule for the sake of entertainment. lol
I couldn't believe it when I found out she did Judy Jetsons voice in 'The Jetsons movie' 2 years ago. What a great choice! Who did Judy's voice origanly?
@WumWip Yep, and kids growing up today will later be saying how much they miss the 2000s and 2010s and complaining how the 2020s suck. It's the cycle of life, dude.
This is a great song and it brings back so many memories from when I was younger. I just remembered I liked the song so I watched and old vhs tape years later and rediscovered it. Great post!
Does anyone know if there is a video of her singing this song or You and me?
@ChloeALaPunkPrincess Amen to that ChloeAlaPunkPrincess. If a person says that Tiffany sucks, they are as you say obviously deaf. Tiffany does indeed rock. She has been my favorite Female vocalist since I found out who she was about 10 years ago. Tiffany is a very rare thing, beautiful, and truly talented.
Tiffany is my all time favorite female vocalist. I respect her over her two 80s counterparts Debbie Gibson, and Madonna. She had a sweetness the other two didn't. I can listen to Tiffany all day and not get sick of hearing her voice, where as I can only stand about 25 to 30 minutes of Madonna and Debbie Gibson before I get sick of them. While Madonna and Debbie went bubblegum pop and outragous wardrobes, Tiffany didn't. Tiffany went more the ballad route and dressed more....
DEBBIE was MUCH classier and woul;d NEVER replace a role Janet Waldo did [Judy] [nor audition for June Foray's Rocky, or what Jim Cummings did, take over Paul Winchell's Tigger role when Pual was still alive,]Tiffany sucks
@SteveCarras Debbie sometimes looked like Boy George's twin, not classy at all. Also hey maybe Janet Waldo CAN'T SING. If you can't sing when the role calls for singing, then what good are you to the character at that point, you can't have two people play the role one for the singing and one for the voice of the character, in most cases it doesn't work.
@redmr2na Janet Waldo sings just fine. I've heard her do it. She could have pulled this song off, but that's not the point. Tiffany was brought in to add some kind of name to the film. She was only going to do the singing, then SOMEBODY (stories differ depending on the person) decided she should do the voice altogether. THAT was the mistake because Tiffany ewas HORRIBLE in the role!
Tiffany is my all time favorite female vocalist. She was and still is amazing. She was different and refreshing in her prime. While artists like Madonna, Debbie Gibson, and others went for bubblegum pop songs, and rediculous wardrobes, Tiffany went for Ballads, and stayed fairly conservitve. I first heard this song about 3 days ago, and like just about every Tiffany song, it is golden.
I became VERY fascinated with the fate of this song. It was very fitting for Tiffany's voice and age.
But, call me crazy, I think it could've charted in the early 1990s as a pop country ballad. Like if Leanne Rimes had come on the scene 5 yrs. earlier. Could have also sounded INCREDIBLE with a John Michael Montgomery-type voice. Just lose the synth, add a little more twang, and I think it could have gone that direction very easily. Tiffany's legendary though. :)
My favorite moment and song from The Jetsons movie! Loved it when I was a kid and I still love it to this day. Such a grown up song for an animated movie. It's funny cause I kept listening to it through a bad break-up.
It's kinda funny how a song from the Jetsons movie proves to be much more deeper, emotional, and powerful than a song from something like the Hannah Montana movie for example. Shows how much the overall quality (music soundtracks, acting, script, etc.) in stuff geared towards children and/or family oriented audiences has gone downhill over the years.
It's not bad of a song. It fits the scene it plays in. But I would have rather had the original voice actress do Judy's voice in the movie. I'm a bit of a purist when it comes to that.
I know that. My last comment said I would have rather had the ORIGINAL voice actress do Judy's voice in the movie. Meaning Janet Waldo, not Tiffany, should have been the voice actress in the movie. Of course this wouldn't have happened since they wanted to push Tiffany and sell some CDs/cassettes of the soundtrack.
