I have the luck to be a pupil of Sesei T.Tamano, Kancho (not only a Shihan, please....) of Shorei Kan school that, as Dakinikad said, it is VERY different from other school, but, if I understood your message in the correct way, not in the way you said. The thumbs MUST be ALWAYS close to the hands to protect them and to make the techniques in the right way. You cannot pass not even the 9th kyu examination if you do not take them in the correct way...Onegai shimatsu.

yes, it is special but if I should take my thumbs so opened (look at the harai uke-open hand blocks- at the beginning), my Master simply cut them off! The technique simple DOES NOT work in this way...

Is from the school of Shihan Toshio Tamano, pupil of Great master Seikichi Toguchi of okinawan lineage Shorei-Kan Gojuryu. Tey begins a little different of other schools, we know.

Oh, so you know, and expecially Master Sanmartin and Master Alcon, what does it means get the black belt from Sensei Tamano,I get the first dan in Binasco two years ago and I apologize with Master Sanmartin for my words but I did't see Shorei-kan Crest on his "gi" so I suppose he was one of many people who say to be a "master" after seeing our kata just 1 of 2 time.Shitsurei shimatsu.
