If you really think about it, the Chinese earn few profit margins compared to the multinational firms they sweat for. All that money China has is the collective earnings of all its citizens who saved up their earnings because they can't afford the things they themselves produce. Can you imagine the Chinese laborer who produces the iphone 4 going to the market and purchasing an iphone 4? It's beyond his/her purchasing power.

If we just focus on the root problem which is that the monetary system creates corruption and crime we would be a lot better off. Instead of competing, we work together to grow all the food we need using machines to do the majority of the work.

Foreigners need to take a close look at China "1 Child Policy" carefully because it's not "1 Child Policy" in every family every where. Majority of the Chinese population are living in countryside where the peasants all have two to three children. Minority groups are exempted from 1 Child Policy. They have 3, 4, 5.. As for those living in the cities, when they divorced then remarried, they can have another Child(ren). There are still too many people in China.

World oil production peaked in 2005 and will soon go into a sharp terminal decline. Global coal reserves will peak latest around 2025, China may have peaked in coal already. The economic growth model of the economists in Russia Today is therefore unsustainable. The industrial age is on the brink of collapse now. It will end around the year 2025.

It's called Hubbert's cliff. Energy return on investment will be in sharp decline soon because the easy oil is gone. Renewable energy can't give us what fossil fuels gave us the last 100 years, its energy-flux density is much too low. For long distance travel, instead of using an airplane, maglev trains use less than 2% of the energy an airplane uses. By eliminating the monetary system and providing all products and services for free, thus eliminating patents and hence everything is designed collaboratively, we vastly reduce the number of factories churning out duplicate products which lowers our need for energy.

Impossible to predict, but i can see an outline going forward and that is new power centers will emerge that will undermine USA dominance in the future, those new powers include India, Iran, and if you look further, issues like Egypt and Saudi Arabia's rather shaky alliance with the USA, and Japan and Korea who might in the nexdt 20 years chose to have total control of their own military, and if it came to that, USA will not be able to project their power in the Pacific any longer.

If you really think about it, the Chinese earn few profit margins compared to the multinational firms they sweat for. All that money China has is the collective earnings of all its citizens who saved up their earnings because they can't afford the things they themselves produce. Can you imagine the Chinese laborer who produces the iphone 4 going to the market and purchasing an iphone 4? It's beyond his/her purchasing power.
Also, China is a producing nation but it lacks innovation.

@bi0dude42O My doomsday scenario is: You run out of petrol, then no food (cant plant or grow without petrol), you have no jobs (the economy crumbles), Just look at Detroit, this what's coming to the other cities in the US. People will move toward the coasts, East and West, because that's where the economy is still partially holding. The federal government will loose its power, it cant pay for law enforcement. The indians, black, mexicans, will use their communities to rebuild their lives,...

@gringodeltoro1 In case you haven't realised, hemp could save all this. Hemp = food, fuel, clothes, houses. But your stupid federal government made it ilegal to grow. The indians are well aware of this, so are the hippies, when the FDA, FBI and all the other bitches stop getting paid, hemp will florish all across the US. But by then most white people will be broke and alienated because they see what they always believed in disappear: WHITE DOMINATION.
This scenario will happen over 3-5 years.

1. people need food, water, shelter, energy, medicine, transportation, education, etc.
2. money systems do NOT create an abundance of 1, because it is more profitable to capitalize on real or imagined scarcity
3. sharing ALL resources and knowledge allows for the greatest production of wants and discoveries of new knowledge through cooperation
4. a system based on sharing and not property has the benefit of not allowing groups to hoard resources and control everyone, abundance reduces crime

5. we have the resources and technology to provide EVERYTHING for the world now, starting with the basics then moving to things as yet unimagined, and combined with creating abundance will eliminate most crime
6. automating the production and distribution of everything frees up humanity to no longer be wage slaves to governments or corporations, so they may pursue higher education, creative endeavors, travel the world/universe, or just have a stress free leisurely life style

@dontblockmedk You're probably talking about a sort of technocracy based on energy accounting.Unfortunately we don't have that technology yet where everything should be automated.But the bigger proble is the human alpha factor,that is people wanting to rule on other people.

@KladionicaCity The point is that the money property systems don't allow abundance, because keeping things scarce gives 'people' more profit and control.
We must evolve as a species and create a system where greed, crime and other bad behavior is NOT REWARDED.
Sharing all knowledge and resources, and automating production and distribution will allow us to create abundance for everyone on the planet and create the highest standard of living.

@dontblockmedk I agree with you mostly but people will label you a commie when they don't even have a clue about where you're coming from. I was going to mention something about the Venus project but noticed you're already in the know. It is a very high ideal that puts people way above mediocrity which is where the world should be. Sadly , the most important thing on most peoples mind these days is who's going to win the world cup or who's on American Idol. You know that.

The good news is a lot of people are hearing about VP and I really do think that when the depression becomes obvious we should have a critical mass to move in this direction.
We must create sustainable ABUNDANCE of consumables (eg food, water, energy) and universal ACCESS to everything else (eg transport, info)

Were toast already. Sit down and have a chat with any 15-20 year old and it becomes VERY apparent that the youngsters of America are way behind the curve. Our education system has been letting us down for 30 years, and now, cranks out high school "graduates" that can't read or write and have no math skills. Not to mention 40% of our population is obese. Stupid people NEVER lead and unhealthy people are useless to a country. These guys are out of touch with the "NOW"..how can they look ahead.

Well let me think.. the wars, death and destruction over the past several thousands of years, man using ancient weapons which has been limited in killing others. Now you have greater more sophisticated weapons that can take out and entire country or continent, Huh? I don't think the balance fits the outcome of 100 years some how? The ruling elite no doubt will find a way to start WW III and then you don't have to wait at all.

The USA should be worried about surviving today. China is saying we can't and won't prop up the USA any longer. The vassal/puppet states of the USA are going to have to prop up the USA. Bernanke wants to print USD to infinity. Obama is imposing austerity and expects all the puppets to do the same. Look at measures taken in Europe and Japan. The money saved from austerity doesn't go back to the people, it goes to propping up the USA, the USD, and its military.

@tiatdivad I agree. We are at a crossroads. The system is failing and because of technological development. What we're experiencing right now is culture lag. Cultures take time to catch up to technological advancement. The old way of thinking was that people had to exchange their time and energy for goods and services. That worked well when food and other products were scarce. But now we live in an age of abundance. The monetary system is outdated and it's time for our next social evolution.

@Marino6993 Personally, I see The Venus Project as an undercover Agenda 21 propaganda. Somebody will still have all the power, hold all the resources in their hands. Are we really to trust that anyone can hold all that power and resources in their hands, distribute it equally among the masses, and it NOT corrupt them? Not very likely. I firmly believe that every living being on this planet deserves the basic essentials, e.g. food, shelter, clothing, and healthcare. Venus project is not the way.

@sammieluvsdoomy The Zeitgeist Movement / Venus Project is not a utopia. There are flaws in the system just like there are flaws in our current system. However The Zeitgeist Movement / Venus Project are a lot better than our current system.
The system we have now cannot be fixed because it doesn't address the root cause. Every fix within our political system is only temporary patchwork. TVM addresses the root cause by redesigning our cities to support a social value system.

@sammieluvsdoomy In The Venus Project nobody controls the resources. They are managed via a network of sensors that monitor the environment and its resources along with a constantly changing team of interdisciplinary volunteers. All products and services are given away for free so everyone in the society benefits. This eliminates greed because it eliminates scarcity. Everything is provided free of charge in a resource based economy where most of the work is automated.
