@georgietorres17 Nope. 500mW will only cause a surface burn, like if you drop hot coffee on it. And Lightsabers don't use lasers, they use plasma(a laser beam can't be stopped and doesn't collide with other laser beams). Plus, for a laser to have the visibility(500mW is just slightly visible on lit areas) and cutting power of a lightsaber, it would need like 10 MW(1 MW = 1,000,000 mW). That's more than one tenth of an average power plant.

@MATTandJOE98 for most lasers, the cold effects the laser diode. it is preffered to keep the laser warm if you are planning on it being in a cold environment. i had the same problem, except one of my lasers only worked in the cold. then it broke.
