The irony was, they made a human error in their attempt at taking human error out of the equation through creating GLaDOS, which killed them all in the end. If the Combine tried invading Aperture Laboratories, well, let's face it, Aperture has more firepower than what's available to the Combine troops and synths.

Maybe unlike most developers, Valve doesn't like to empty up their ideas too fast so they don't release sequels (or prequels) that fast... Unlike Hollywood, they are running out of ideas now... It's not that they can't count to 3, it's just that they don't want to count up there, yet, until they are sure about it.

But I am 95% sure that VALVe is going to announce Half-LIfe 3 at E3 this year; I doubt there is going to be a Portal 3, but, there's a good chance we might get to see Gordon Freeman use the portal gun.

Gaben has said in the past that they would like to make a Half-Life game centered around Alyx and Dog, or maybe even Barney. I am fairly sure that there isn't going to be a new Portal game anytime soon; VALVe has put their Half-Life fans on hold for far too long now. And I don't care if VALVe releases a Half-Life prequel, just give me something, VALVe!
