@ilovecallofdutyify it's entirely personal preference. fire for heavy damage, air for really quick damage. water...well...they said they didn't want healers in this game, so idk for that...earth for a slightly more defensive cloth-e caster

@ilovecallofdutyify oh, and you don't have to choose which element you want to build, because switching elements in combat is the Special ability for the Elementalist, just like the Weapon switch mechanic for Warriors.

@ilovecallofdutyify considering they have 4 forms, I would certainly guess so. But it also depends on quite how many different weapons they are allowed (since skills change based on what you're wielding). But, you will only be able to hot key 10 at a time (if i'm correct, it's 5 on both sides of the health bar. The left side being weapon-based, right side is universal)

@ilovecallofdutyify Don't know how many skills WoW mage has, but in GW2, you can change your last 5 skills, and there are lot to choose from. Also, there are Traits, which can change the skills function, so you can customize your playstyle even further.

The Elementalist will get 3 spells for his main hand weapon, and 2 spells for his off hand. With what he can wield, trust when I say that he will have more than 20 different skills(including Aqua wep)/ attunement.From what I've seen, changing elements will have a relatively short CD (about 8 secs?).Also you should be able to switch weapons

From what I know so far,the elementalist will have a total of at least 20*4 + 3(utility but you chose just 1)+ 2 (ulti) + 17 optional (only 3 at a time)=102

Elementalist seems like the traditional mage type. If the *To be accounced* class is even more "traditional mage" That's my choice. But just one thing is that makes me wonder. Are most of the necro/ele clothes just dresses and stuff? (like in most games) If so... I'll have to play female.

The only small problem I have with the game so far is the lack of spell-weapon interaction. Like, the spells are nice but I don't see the point in weapons giving different abilities if the weapon doesn't participate in some part of the spell.

Note that is in reference to elementalist and possibly necromancer only.

@sumjunkblah Elementalists can switch between 4 elements ( Fire, water, air and earth ). I'm pretty sure the earth element is a defensive one, because it was in GW1. Also the Fire element is confirmed that is a heavy damage based element, and water element is a supportive/healing element, so I'm guessing that the Earth element will have some kind of defensive skills.

@yhnick You can check out the bonus items on guild wars 2 official website, there's a calculator. Also the bonus items are cosmetics only, example: if you unlock the pistol bonus item, you get it as a level 1 weapon, and it will level up with your level as well ( similar to Fable 3 weapon system ). Other bonus items include minipets, titles and armor sets. The armor sets can level up with your level as well, so it won't be useless after your character grows a few level.

The elementalist has Earth, Fire, Water, and Air skills, the ones shown here are just a few. Elementalists will be able to quickly switch between each of these elements, but they won't be able to wield secondary weapons. (I'm pretty sure that's how it works.. :s)

The graphics on the skills in GW2 are the best ive seen in any MMO atm. In an interview they said at any one time you ccould have up to 38 kills available to you at any one time which i cant wait to see sonds awsome. plus they even said there are 88000 different combos of skills available. Uber awsome :D

Well, I think you can use the fire/earth/air based spells everywhere, and the water based spells in an area with water. Although that does seem kind of strange.. I mean, there's earth n' dirt everywhere, air too. Pretty sure they'll make all the spells available for casting, no matter what area you're in.

@twerpet114 Wait for Guild Wars 2. Guild Wars 1 is a instanced game, that means you only meet players in towns, thats it. I still recommend Guild Wars 1, just for the bonus items for GW2, which means, if you get all GW1 games and you fill up your Hall of Monuments, you get lots of bonus items for GW2.

About lets play/walkthrough videos, there's none, but search on youtube for demo videos from PAX and Gamescom 2010.

@zandyyy I doubt it will be all the time. When Anet first showed us those videos they said that the one-liners are actually triggered by certain actions the player does. However, many people found the talking annoying and complained about it, so I don't know if they haven't decided to remove it.

@SniiperAssassin The mobs have been made weaker for the purpose of the video - to show the Elementalist's skills. From what we've seen from the playable demo, your foes don't die that easily. :)

@janusjanhaar Sorry, don't know anything about this, but my guess is.... No ! Because in WoW or Warhammer, the difference between RP and normal servers is the no pvp condition ( I may be wrong here ). So in GW2, we won't have pvp in open world like in WoW for example, we can battle only in the Mists Battlegrounds and arenas, so this means that we won't get RP servers. ( but who knows ? at the end... maybe we get 1 or 2 such servers )
