• @MrBNaylor No it's schrapnels from friendly artillery shells, LOL!!

  • @caporalchef4 I'm sure thats no joke either lol. The creeping barrage.....My grandfather said they were laying down shells only a few hundred meters ahead of their infantry at some points in WW2, I think thats why he told me to be a crewman.

  • @MrBNaylor Not a joke, I assure you!! American Kioa helicopters and our artillery pounded the way before our main assault on ennemy compounds. The view you have is from our platoon MG support team. The main troop body was wating 300 meter to the front, on the right flank of the ennemy positions. On that day, we killed a dozen Taliban and discovered a weapons cache. One of our section commander was actualy hit by schrapnel but nothing serious. Respects to your Granpa, the old breed!

  • dam good song, dam good soldiers

  • False pride in a your failed French ancestry counts for nothing, try getting some pride in your present and you might impress someone, become a real "Canadian" not half a Canadian.

Do the non French Canadians continually refer to themselves as English-Canadians?

    No Pride,.....

  • All right, this is ridiculous. You can take your gay pride and shove it far up your ass.

  • Yep that's the way to go. When you can't counter the truth of an argument, attack the poster.

You'll have to do far better than that sonny.

P.S. I do admire what you are doing, and for that you have my gratitude. I just don't like your apparent divided loyalties. it's an insult to a great country.

As we say to migrants here who won't assimilate. "If you like your ancestral home so much, F*ck off back there, and stop holding the rest of us back"

  • Are they French, or Canadian?

Sounds like they have an identity crisis to me,... an English-Dutch-Australian.

No pride in who they are,... only memories of who they once were, p!ss poor.

  • What the fuck are you talking about???? French-Canadian means that we are Canadian speaking french, from our ancesters of french heritage, one of the 2 major founders of Canada...Who are you to say that we have no pride?? Have you ever read about Canada's History or even visited my country?? If not, then shut your cake hole. You are pissing on me and my brothers in arms so eat your shit and choke on it, asshole.

  • I am talking about people who are so unsure of themselves as to not nknow who the ARE . Noy who they were.

Half the world's population originated somewhere else, but they have got over it and know who they now are. If they haven't they are not to be trusted as they have divided loyalties.

I lived on Ottawa for three years working as a consultant engineer for Inglis Engineering, probably before you were born.

    No Pride!

Yes,.. I know exactly what I'm talking about.

  • Whatever you think you know, old man. You are very wrong about our pride. I served my country, Canada, as did other french speaking Canadians ever since this country was born in 1867. We know who we are, The problem is, YOU don't know who we are and you think that because you were here more than 35 years ago you know what you are talking about?? I don't go around Youtube, insulting Australians or other people. You, sir, are a goddamn disrespectful prick.

  • If these persons had an ounce of respect, they would become Canadians, rather than "french" Canadians. They, disrespect their country,.... not me.

I am an Australian, regardless of where my ancestors came from, I have pride in my country and wouldn't think of calling myself anything else.

Likewise if I were to chose to live in Canada permanently I would become a Canadian, NOT an Australian-Canadian

  • Like I said: YOU have no idea what you are talking about. The term "French-Canadian" does not mean "a French from France living in Canada". It means: "a Canadian with the french language as his mother tongue". When you say "these poeple", are you making reference to us veterans who faught and bled bearing the Canadian flag on our uniform?? If so, you are not even worth paying attention to. We are proud of our origins AND proud to be Canadians. French AND English.

  • Yeah,... like I said, your biggest mistake other than your lack of Canadian pride is that you think others are idiots.

The term "French-Canadian" is clearly documented in any number of Encyclopaediae.
French Canadian (also Canadien in Canadian English or in French, or Canadien français in French) generally refers to descendants of French colonists who arrived in New France (Canada) in the 1600's and 1700's.
You try to wear two hats, and neither of them fits.

  • HAHA!!!! And your quote also applies to English Canadians. Either ways, we are Canadians. You are wasting your time, old man. What is it with you despising us?! Were you beaten up by one of us during your time here in Canada, or what??!! I don't think that others are idiots, but I do think that YOU are a stupid clown. Commenting on Canadian soldiers' pride in their country, french or english, especially from a stranger, is an insult to the people of MY country, Canada. Proudly: Fuck you!!

  • @caporalchef4

Naaahhhh,... It's impossible to insult a idiot. Anything I say would have to be a compliment, so obviously that is not my point. My point is that you are a member of an antisocial group with divided loyalties and not worthy of anyone's trust. Well not in Canada anyway.

A bit like the Ghan warlords who will fight for the side with the most money that they can get their paws on.

Time to clean up your act and become a Frenchman or a Canadian, and stop fence sitting.

  • @ozzirt HAHAHA!!! You love to argue, don't you!! I can respect that! We don't know each other, exept for the shit we throw here. I respect someone who stands by his beliefs, this is why I respond again to you. I tell you: You are generalizing. I suggest you take 5 minutes and go on my profile and through my favorites to see who I am and what I stand for. As a soldier serving to another who served, I kindly ask you: Why do you think we have to forget our History to be "real Canadians"??

  • @caporalchef4 I don't mind a debate, and will change my mind on occassion, but the fact that you see fit to state that this unit is "French"-Canadian says a lot. There is no such country as French Canada, and any real patriot puts his country above any personal connections.

The same as when one enters the forces, he swears to uphold the government of the day regardless of his own political beliefs.

  • @ozzirt One may have one's own beliefs and past ancestral relationships, but they are nothing to do with your present Country, just as my dutch ancestry has FA to do with me being an Australian. I am an "Australian" regardless of any ancestral ties, I am NOT a Dutch Australian or an Australian Dutchman. My ancestors elected to live here and as such they showed their respect by becoming Australians as quickly as possible.

It's all about respect for one's country, not one's ego.

  • @ozzirt Australia's History and Canada's History can't be compared. Canada has a story of it's own. You can't expect a whole people( not some kind of 2% minority) to deny their Heritage. I mean, this is not the values of Canada, it's never been and never will be. To you, do I look like I can't express myself in english?? Don't generalize, please. My Regiment is one of the main ones who took Vimy ridge, wich is a major reason why Canada dedatched from Englend.

  • @ozzirt You are generalizing the Quebec question. There are some people in this country that want to tear apart this land, arguing that they have a distict society. Those are the ones you reffer to, and I agree 100%. But, take my word, don't generalize because, eventhough we don't speak English(!!!! Me), it does not mean that we are not Canadians. In fact, the first to be called Canadiens were the frenchs in early 1700.

  • @caporalchef4 If I wa to speak Dutch (which I can't) it would be a sign of my arrogance and ignorance not to mention a great disrespect to my adoptive country. I choose to be here and therefore I choose to be Australian,... and ONLY Australian.

I have an ego, but it has no place in my nationality or how I describe it. Describing oneself as a French Canadian might be excusable if one lived in Canada but had dual citizenship by birth. But it is still a slap in the face to your mother country

  • @ozzirt Your dutch ancesters were not in Australia when the English took over. Look, I don't have to justify myself to a stranger. I, in the deepest of my soul, am a Canadian patriot, eventhough I am not from english descent or I speak french. I have tried to be friendly and kind and all you replied was despise and insult. You hate us:

  • It matters not a fart, You can be French, you can be Canadian or you can have divided loyalties. A personal trait not endeared to me, or any patriot that I know. After all if you were truly loyal to Canada, you would call yourself a Canadian,... JUST a Canadian. Not a fence sitter who can't make up his mind where his loyalties lie.

  • Furthermore: What do you know about pride, anyway?? Have you served your country?? Have you ever been in battle wearing your country's flag?? Willing to die for your country?? Have you ever burried one of your buddies with your country's flag on his coffin?? All the while listening to your national anthem with tears in your eyes?? YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT, stranger. We have more pride than you can possibly imagine. We have proven our loyalty to our country. Did you??

  • Yep, I served MY country as an Australian, NOT a Dutch Australian, on three tours in two conflicts, and I've been present at a number of funeral parades.

Don't puff yourself up too much, you are not the first serviceman to go to war, and you won't be the last, don't make a big issue about just doing your duty, I dunno about you, but that's why I volunteered.

I don't get teary eyed over National Anthems, but I now enough about protocol to know that it should be capitalised.

  • @ozzirt ((others are idiots)) listen that

    brassens: quand on est con

Everybody somewhere will think you are an idiots no matter what! hehe

  • @ozzirt Its not the same thing, Because 7 millions people talk french in Canada on 20 millions, is there like 7 millions English-Dutch-Australian in your country that wanted to have their own country? Quebec wanted to seperate from Canada some 30 years ago. There's no English-Dutch-Australian that want to create a party and make a new country that make 5 times the France, wich Quebec do. Not comparable.

  • Comment removed

  • @ozzirt Just a lesson of Canadian History: What is now the province of Quebec used to be called Canada until the Englo-French wars. Canada is a Native Indian word meaning: village, and it was adopted by the first French explorers as describing this land, wich is called the province of Quebec, today. We were here before the English took over after 1608; We are the true Canadians. Wanting to preserve our heritage is a human attitude and it as been done all over the new world. Get over it.

  • @ozzirt Furthermore: I am convinced that, with all the sacrifices we made in WWI and WWII, we, as descendants of so called outcasts Canadians, we deserve regognition and respect. We bled as much, if not more, in both wars and we are still doing our duty today in Afghanistan. Keep in mind that Canada is a multicultural country, and we are one of the two founders of this country, period. We are not embassadors of France, we are French speaking Canadians and there are 8 millions of us!!

  • Good job les gars. On est fier de vous!

  • Great vid! Even if Afganistan is a desert country, it's still pretty beautifull.

Say, the song is "Orion" by Metallica, right?

    And at

  • Oops, posted to early haha

At 5:46, is that a MG42 by any chance?

  • No, actually in the Canadian Forces, it is called the C6 GPMG (General Purpose Machine Gun) , 7.62 mm. It is made in Belgium by the FN (Fabrique Nationale) and is used by several amies, including the UK and US. Its design was based on the MG42. The feeding mechanism is pratically the same. Unlike the famous MG42, wich was recoil operated, the C6 is gas operated. It is a very good, effective and deadly weapon.

  • Thanks, man!! Yeah, Afghanistan is a beautiful country...But, I am grateful that I was born in Canada! And, you are right; this is "Orion". Cheers!

  • january 1st 2010. RIP brothers in arms, you are not forgotten. Je me souviens.

To all the Islam extremists watching this, know that: You are nothing more than cowards and scumbag sodomites with no code of conduct or honor, hiding behind poor harmless civilians, women and children, using their fear as a shield. Never has the world seen a rise of such hypocrisy. I know why your prayers will never be answered...You are a disgrace to the human race. I have more respect for a mule than for you.

  • Amen
