i bought a 71 pinto last summer. it is 2000cc. auto trans. the thing only has 75850 actual miles. been sitting for many years but seems to be ok. some new tires and some thumbtacks in the headliner and i'll be ready to go.
dude thats a stupid question ... is it cammed of coarse it is otherwise that 780 cfm holly would drown that engine and it would chug like a bitch usually you dont put more than 600 on a 351 unless its cammed
i can understand that, i've always heard bad things about them so i havent used them much so i am ignorantly saying they suck, if they work and are cheap, thats cool
Im building a bad ass pinto too as we speak.Probably not as bad ass as this one but its gonna have a 302 in it.All i want is something that rumbles nice and shows those dime a dozen econo box cars what a real project "was" lol
im definetely planning to build up a pinto w/ a 302 and possibly aluminum windsor or epoxied 4V heads... ... well maybe.. ive got a 72 mustang w/ a 393 cleveland n 4V heads as well pocket ported... that freakin motor pegs 6000 rpms regardless how hot the drag radials are lmao.. nice pinto bro.. keep that cleveland running
its funny the people putting down a ride like this are people who wish it were them...I have a 73 Vega and its the same out there.Atleast we know a hell of alot of fun. nice ride and take pride....army out
Better car? How can you get any better? It's a tiny, very light little car with a healthy engine and capable of putting that power to the ground. Car appears to be built right, why would it blow up?
Yes just about any car would be a better car to redo. they blow up, or used to because when they were rear ended a bolt on the gas tank would go into the gas tank and spark atthe same time wit bad results.he probably fixed that problem and i still think he did a great job.
Ok, so you've watched videos on what happened on rare occasoins to STOCK Pinto's when being rear ended. A lesser known fact is that early Mustangs, and even the car I drive every day, a Maverick had similar issues when rear ended hard, because there is very little structure back there.
With the amount of work done I'm sure this car has a fuel cell installed. So there is really no point in putting the car down as a bad car to build.
Nice car! Old school rims? They look a whole lot better than the ugly waggon wheels they make today! A car like that needs lots of rubber. I'll bet you can really burn some rubber too! Lol.
In 1972 Bob Glidden had his first NHRA U.S. Nationals event victory, where he paced the quickest-ever Pro Stock field with a 9.03 at a national record 152.54 mph.
The local PD have come into the garage to see the Pinto. The first cop said to the second cop as he walked into the garage. Hey John, CALL FOR A TRAILER..! "They do have a sense of humor."
