This type of music has also been classed as 8bit which is taken from classic 80s riffs. which you hear alot within this sound. you only have to listen to Deadmau5 and proff & mango to see the similarities. If this was faster it would clearly be in the trance category! Hope this helps. 8bit Elektro or Progressive house.

Sure they may sound similar in certain aspects but that is just like the Rock genre or classical genre. In its own I say each artist in electronic is his own genre, but if you were to try and classify a masterpiece like this it would be a combination of progressive, house, electro, chill, and some hints of trance beats. But why does it matter as long as its great.
