  • This hasn't made me cry....yet

  • QUE LIIINDO♥♥♥

  • And God bless us everyone!

  • Ay que lindo. DesiLuForever~! :D

  • They never stopped loving each other... True love never dies...

  • Beautiful...you can feel the love!

  • Brought tears to my eyes...wonderful video...

  • A great many thanks to the family for putting this amazing video out there for the world to see.

These two people seem to care for and love each other deeply.

  • I think they both went to their graves still madly in love. Lucy could not forgive his womanizing. Lucy was several years older than Desi and I am sure she was always looking out for the starlets who were trying to take advantage of Desi.

    Beautiful video.

  • I think they were soulmates too. If he could have just been faithful to her. He couldn't keep his hands off other women. Other than that, I think they would have been together forever.

  • This video put a humongous smile on my face. =)

  • special...

  • Desi's voice never changed :D

  • I also believe that they were soul mates, but sadly, were unable to live under the same roof. I recently read Desi's autobiography, "A Book," and it's a thinly-veiled, powerful tribute to the love of his life, Lucy Arnaz.

This youtube video brought tears to my eyes. They were still obviously best friends, so many years after their marriage ended.

  • Precious moments. Forever in love.

  • Beautiful!

  • i never saw Grandpa. They should've put him on the show

  • that's so sweet!

  • i dont quite get it spanish is a good lang so why not have the kids learn 2 lang at their age they can soak up more than u think... they never lose their mother tongue why do ppl do that,,,,,,but i love that even tho apart they show love still for ea other & their kids awesome

  • This reminds me of my own parents. They divorced when I was a small kid but they are the best of friends even today.

  • So very touching!

  • this is so touching, you can still see they never really fell out of love...thanks for posting this :)

  • :')

I know they are Lucie & Desi Jr's mom & pop, but for many of us children younger than TV they were our parents, too!

I miss them every day, but thank you, God for reruns!!!

  • *tear*

  • Love this vid. It proves that they always loved each, through thick and thin.

  • That was awesome! I love to find great things on You Tube!! Lucy was so brave to fall in love and marry Desi. Dating or God forbid marrrying outside of your race was forbidden in the 50's. I commend you Lucy and Desi!

  • @diamondgirl828 Lucy had an Uncle George, who was a darkly handsome man of Greek heritage, and she loved him very much. I'm paraphrasing here, but Lucy said it put a little seed in the back of her mind to fall for the latin type, so of course, Desi took her breath away!

  • i love it how they still were a family even though they were divorced

  • Awww so nice. They still loved each other.

  • That was beautiful! Thank you.

  • Very touching VDO. Thanks so much for sharing. I love Lucy!!

  • It's a fun video clip..except fot that stupid fishing gurgling noise that Mr.Arnaz makes..My God! He sounds like a rejected audtionee for"The Flipper Show".

  • Coolest grandparents aww how sweet!!!

  • I've never seen anything so touching.

  • Just goes to show, some love never dies.

Most fantastic video I have ever seen.

It's wonderful they were able to share their grandchild together like that.

I love them so much, they are part of my childhood I hold so dear.

I love Lucy, and Desi too!

  • It looks like they were very doting grandparents

  • Cubano asta la muerte!

  • just shows you how wonderful and loveing they were in real life. not just on tv...

  • wonderful i agree with jess 120%

  • This always makes me cry...even though they divorced, I believe they were soul mates, makes me believe in true love!!! :')

  • haha "they made fun of me"

r.i.p if it wasnt for desi, latinos wouldn't have been so successful in the entertainment district

  • I am a 59 year old man with tears running down my cheeks. Lucy and Desi were like surrogate parents to me. I loved them and I guess I always will.

  • What a great video! My mother passed away when I was a teenager and I remember watching I Love Lucy reruns with her. As I watch them now it reminds me of her and I smile because I know that she is watching Lucy and Desi perform up in heaven. Lucy and Desi were SO far ahead of their time, we haven't caught up to them and i'm not sure that we ever will.

  • Thank you for sharing something so personal. In this short video it was easy to see the diamond of love between your mom and dad will carry on forever and ever. If anyone needs proof of soul mates, this video will remove all doubt . I hope I will reincarnate in time to witness their love again. Once again thank you so much for sharing.

  • What a great video!

  • OH WOW..I CANT BELIEVE THAT WAS REALLY THEM...I LOVE THE LUCY RE-RUNS ON TV...I WATCH THEM EVERY NIGHT...I LOVE WHEN THEY HAVE MARATHONS

  • i love how she wanted him to speak spanish, this is an amazing video. i love it and it tears me up everytime.

  • I love this. I cry at the end when he sings I love Lucy every time.

  • thanks for sharing your personnal moment

  • What does Lucy say at 0:44? Something about not speaking Spanish, lol.

  • @shahoney Shes asking or encouraging him to speak Spanish to the kids and he says "they make fun of me!"

  • What year was this?

  • Beautiful video!!! It's so nice that they had such a loving relationship all the way to the end.

lol it's so funny that his grandson didn't like Desi speaking Spanish to him. He doesn't know how many people would kill to have Ricky Ricardo speak Spanish to them! lol

  • They hold a special place in all our hearts. They will never die.

    Thanks to family for sharing.

  • when my exwife and I get with together for our grandkids we always show love and support .so happy Lucy and Desi did also

  • This is such an amazing video and i'm so happy I found it. Lucy and Desi have always reminded me of my parents which is why i'm such a fan of them both. Whatever happened in the past seems to have stayed in the past because you can clearly see how fond of each other they were. I hope they know that they still bring laughter and joy to all of us. My mother, 2yr old daughter and I watch this show together and it doesn't matter what age you are because you can always "Love Lucy".

  • They definitely still loved each other until the end. Desi kept sending her flowers on their anniversary and they spoke to each other almost everyday.

  • They definitely still loved each other until the end. Desi kept sending her flowers on their anniversary and they spoke to each other almost everyday. I don't know how their spouses put up with this. But it's true!!!!

  • They definitely still loved each other very much until the end. They spoke to each other almost everyday and Desi kept sending her flowers on their anniversary and other occasions. How their spouses put up with this? I don't know , but it's true !!!

  • I miss her to this day..She was my idol since I was a small child..... She truly left us all a wonderful legacy......

  • delightful. thank you so much for uploading :)

  • wow that just made me cry. this is almost too personal to put on youtube but thanks whomever posted it. I love how they maintained their love even years after they divorced. it so sweet! <3

  • this makes wanna cry...man im only 22 but i grew up watching i love lucy and i think i seen all of them...i love them so much..

  • @SIN88927 heheh same here!! I still watch it almost everyday on tv. I can't ever get tired of it; it's amazing how great of a show it is

  • @SIN88927 I agree, im only 18 and I grew up on I Love Lucy and I will NEVER FORGET HOW MUCH I LOVE IT. I only wish we could have more of the two in our lives today.

  • This is one of the most touching and beautiful clips that I have ever seen. Lucy and Desi together again after all these years. Wow.

  • Gracias Desi Arnaz.Your an inspiration for us young Latinos and thank you Lucy and to the others that showed world we can all laugh together no matter your race or culture or ethnicity.Peace

  • @RealityHurts923 desi was an inspiration for all of us, whether latino, italian english native american or anyone on this earth.

although i'm personally italian, i think it's important to note just how talented desi was in all aspects of the entertainment world. he grew and ran desilu into a major hollywood studio. his legacy must never be forgotten or diminished in any way.

he was the intelligencia half of the lucy/desi duo. be very proud of him. he has no equal.

  • They act more married than most married people do...i believe they might've gotten back together had they not gotten remarried to other people. I also think Lucy's health declined rapidly after Desi's death, which is very telling.

  • @froggyleap86 i agree they act more married than any other couple even in their later yrs & i think they could've got back together & i do wish they worked it out

  • Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz with their grandson Simon (Lucie Arnaz's son)

  • ANYONE WHO HAS EVER LOVED LUCY & DESI MUST READ THE BOOK TITLED " I LOVED LUCY...MY FRIENDSHIP WITH LUCILLE BALL" BY LEE TANNEN. HE WAS DISTANTLY RELATED TO GARY MORTON, THEREBY RELATED TO LUCY AND SPENT MUCH OF THE LAST 10 YEARS OF LUCY'S LIFE WITH HER AS HER FRIEND, CONFIDANTE AND BACKGAMMON PARTNER..IT IS A TRULY WONDRFUL BOOK I KEEP READING OVER AND OVER AGAIN

  • So nice... just breaks my heart........such deep love!!! A thin line between love and hate...............part of all our history.......we all love Lucy.

  • NO ONE should EVER dislike this! Thank you to the 254+ who liked it :)

  • I seriously started crying! :""""")

  • Thanks for letting us in on a most personal family experience. Love trancends everything. It truly does.

  • This is so beautiful :....)

  • this made me cry = ) i absolutly love their relationship. even tho they werent together they still loved each other and it shows = ) this was so cute<3 thank u for uploading

  • Love love the clip!

@missgibbdreamer- what do you mean by you comments below: it's very telling when she says daddy and not grandpa? Are you referring to the close relationship they shared?

@lindawatcher: what the hell are you talking about: finding the pocket monster? Really? That is what your comment is on the amazing clip?

  • hahahahah this is cute

  • that almost brought me to tears, they still had that desi/lucy chemistry i saw on i love lucy.....thanks for sharing :D

  • How much does it suck to be his other two wives who he didn't write a song about?

  • @vaibanez17 - Desi was only married once more.

  • @vaibanez17 Desi didn't write the "I Love Lucy" song lyrics. They were written for the episode of "I Love Lucy" titled, "Lucy's Last Birthday". He just sang the song.

  • @vaibanez17 He only had one other wife. Her name was Edie.

  • I love this. As Desi once quoted, "I Love Lucy wasn't just a title." They still loved each other until the end and it really shows. I love how she laughs after Desi says "the kids always made fun of my Spanish." Very sweet home movie.

  • Thank you for sharing this. My ex-husband is Cuban and speaks to our babies in the SAME accent. People called us Lucy and Ricky - this hits me in the heart and makes me cry!

  • wow, desi got heavy!!

  • @redheadonfire2 Yes, he became a famous sumo-wrestler in Japan in the 1970's and later was in who's who in famous actors that weight over 500 pounds.....

  • He used to cut the ends out of his pockets and let all little kids reach in to "Find the pocket monster"

  • That is so cute seeing Simon playing the water drums with his grandpa, Babalu is a favorite will go on and on! :) That was a beautiful clip thanks for posting and thanks to the Arnaz family for making this video available! :) God bless your familia! :)

  • This is a touching video, they loved each other till the day they died.

  • This made me cry....So beautiful....no words really....just so beautiful.....

  • Sonny and Cher were the same way. Loved one other with all their hearts, meant the world to one another, but couldn't stay together anymore. I guess sometimes, no matter how much two people love each other, it just doesn't work.

  • Simon must really treasure this video of his famous grandparents :)

  • this is precious :)

  • I love her playing with her hair. I wonder if it made her husband or his wife jealous.

  • @Sampiro I don't think so... Desi passed before Lucy, and when Lucy followed soon after, her husband, Gary Morton, said "Lucy is with Desi now."

Wasn't this just priceless? When Lucy touched Desi's hair the way she did and then said don't push "daddy" away to sweet Simon, they must have been in their own special world..

  • @Sampiro It would seem to me that knowing the previous history, good and bad, Lucy and Desi's later spouses would either have to put the jealousy thing aside or just get on down the road. From everything I've ever read and heard, Lucy's marriage to Gary, although certainly different from her marriage to Desi, was a good one. I've read and heard the same about Desi's marriage to Edie. Life goes on, but you know those two must have had a bond or love, call it what you want, that always lasted.

  • You can tell they adore one another.. He made her laugh and he seems so happy.. Both joyous in their element..together...

  • What a great video. I read somewhere that he sent her roses every year on the birthdays of Lucie and Desi, Jr. Desi, Sr. was a genius.

  • Desi loved Lucy so much that he made he the biggest television star ever by helping bring out her true talent>

Showbiz is what killed their marriage, but i think they both realized that in the end.

  • @dlee7283

showbiz is not what killed their marriage

he cheated on her with other women

although i am not trying to be mean

i think that both of them are so funny and sweet

    he just wasn't thinking

    we all do that

  • So strange to see Desi here with white thinning hair, just looks so different, growing old sucks, but they were still a beautiful couple even years later and he never lost his good looks. They seemed so close, even after the divorce, too bad they hadnt been buried together :( Desi and Lucy forever!

  • @ChandlerandMonica83 Desi was creamated & Lucy has a family grave w/her parents & brother

  • They loved each other, you could tell even years after they got divorced. I think Lucy died of a broken heart when she lost her best friend Desi. She died only a few short years later after him.

  • @ChandlerandMonica83 Lucy lost part of herself when Desi died & died of a broken heart she couldn't live without him

  • wonderful video. There was love there always between them, even at the end. Very sweet.

  • Very revealing home video.. After all those years, they were still acting like a married couple, and still had affection for each other.

This is one of the most touching things I've ever seen.

  • @Lampshade51 when they were old they looked & acted like they were married

  • You can tell that they still loved each other, not just by showing they were having a good time playing with their grandson, but how they still acted like a married couple (Lucille fixing Desi's hair and the way they talked to each other). Its beautiful, they are two great legends.

  • in a book tat im reading: Ball of Fire... at one point it said that a couple of days before desi dies, lucie and desi jr brought their mom to see him. they ended up watchin I Love Lucy tapes ans laughing together. lucy got up 2 leave an desi asked her where she was going, she said she was going home and he responded: " you are home". this was wayyy after their divorce.., the love that these 2 shares will never be forgotten!

  • @moviechick9620

I read that book! I think it is one of the books that is pretty accurate. He thanks Lucie for a lot of information. I absolutely love that part of the book where he tells her "You are home." That had to have been very hard for her to leave after that.

  • @cms8777 definately very hard...i was reading the book at school and i was trying my hardest to choke back the tears at some points.... also, when the book said that Gary Morton said that Lucy is happy now since she is with Desi...after she died... if Lucy's husband admitted that she would be happy in heaven with Desi...that shows how much her and Desi really loved eachother.... <3

  • @moviechick9620

Yep, I really liked that quote from Gary as well. I thought it was so sweet that they would talk to each other every day, or close to it. I bet they would spend hours on the phone. Kind of like in the early days of their marriage when he was on tour across the country and she was doing movies.

  • @cms8777 my thoughts exactly!!!! and how they always ended the conversations with "i love you"'s sooo sweet!!!!

  • @moviechick9620 What book is this?

  • @pipiepoopie its called "Ball of Fire" its an biography of lucy....

  • @moviechick9620 It HAD to have broken Lucy s heart to leave after that. I think both Lucy s and Desi s spouse s KNEW the truth, that Lucy and Desi never stoped being in love with each other. How could they NOT know. Not to say thier second marriages were bad or they werent married to good people but ....................

  • @missgibbdreamer i kno...i get what u mean....

  • I believe they were soul mates too. I think Desi pride got in the way of saying he was sorry. Saw an interview Desi jr and Lucie did about their parents. Desi Jr. said their family wasnt perfect. They had problems just like everyone else. He said the ability to admit you made a mistake is hard.

  • happy birthday desi!!!!

  • wonderful video. thanks for the peek into their lives. They brought such joy and laughter to so many..sorry they couldn't make it

  • Very sweet.

  • They were definitely each others soul mates, it is so sad to think that they couldn't spend their last days together. They loved each other so much, you can tell just by looking at this short home movie.

  • That's cute.

  • So sweet

  • Aw no doubt! there was love there! they were ment to be together! they have beautiful children and beautiful grandchildren!

  • they were the true meaning of soul mates I am positive they are together now just like they were always meant to be.

  • @jess7faith me too!

  • @DweeD1516 There's no God? Bull!

  • This always makes me cry

  • They really loved each other.

  • i could cryyy , its so beautiful <3

  • Oh this is just so beautiful! My father passed away in 2006....he will never get to experience the joy of having had grandchildren. His death made me treasure such memories captured in pictures or film. For a couple that captured America's heart and became America's sweetheart...they were like family! These home movies should be treasured and revered! Thank you so much for posting!

  • I love when she says @1:11, "no, you don't push daddy away" and then corrects it to "you don't push grandpa away"

  • I noticed that too, & I love it... so precious!

  • @Liisatra Its very telling when she say s daddy and not grandpa then corrects herself. VARY telling

  • thankyou sooo much! they were amazinjg together!

  • thankyou for sharing this... i have tears in my eyes...

I know you must must your parents so ... uare lucky to have had them and still in you and your children...

  • tht is in hawaii

  • How do you know? Do you know what year please? =)

  • ik because when Luci Arnaz wasnt married yet she moved to hawaii so tht is how ik

  • Lucie Arnaz only ever had children with Larry Luckinbill, and Simon is in this video. So that can't be it.

  • Wow! There was still definitely love there.

  • i heard that Lucy was in a deep state of depression when desi died she wouldnt talk to anybody but her kids

  • aw i would be too!

  • Oh Lord, that is the most touching thing. Of course they were imperfect people - everyone knows it. But for sure, these people absolutely loved one another to the end of their days. They tried and tried. And they gave the world a most precious gift that won't ever go away. You can't fake that. The love was real. God Bless them both. For so many reasons.

  • when was the grandson born?

  • @suburbandrudgery in the early 1980s

  • @suburbandrudgery in the early 1980s

  • Lucy always said that he was the love of her life but she just "couldn't take it anymore". Its been said that even after their divorce they still talked to each other on the phone every night, ending their conversation with "I love you".

  • Not every night?

  • I had always heard it was every night, but I was not in their homes so I can not say for sure. But needless to say, they still thought highly of each other, and thats the bottomline.

  • This made me cry. It's beautiful, their relationship. Look at how she feels so comfortable with him that she pushes his hair back. It's so appropriate that the last time he's shown on film, he's doing "Babalu." I bet that child, now an adult, takes pride in how his legendary grandpa sang "Babalu" with him in the pool and used the water as a conga drum.

  • Lucy and Desi; a true love story

  • they are so comical :) i'm glad that they were still good good friends after what went down....

  • It seems as if their personalities wasn't too far off from their characters on "I Love Lucy". This video is amazing.

  • Certain aspects of their personalities were apparent on "I Love Lucy"--their real love shined on the show- but other personality traits were purely fictional character.

  • This home movie is so touching...it made me laugh when Lucy was still making fun of Ricky's english. Thanks so much for sharing this video.

  • Comment removed

  • the song at 2:10 is very nice and it makes me get a feeling in my stomach and it makes me happy and sad.

  • This clip is touching - not in a Hollywood way but in a human way. Thank you for sharing,

  • @lbambacus they were in love till the end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't care who she married or he he married, look at them, listen to desi sing

  • @lbambacus they were in love till the end!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't care who she married or he he married, look at them, listen to desi sing "he loves lucy, she loves him" He died and the she died

  • u cud tell there love never diminished even with the divorce. they were always bestfriends who cared deeply about each other, its soo sweet.

  • Everytime I watch this home video it makes me cry. It is a truly beautiful and touching moment. The fact that they were still madly in love with each other is evident for everybody to see, I love the way she kept messing with his hair and then almost immediately fixed it. Notice how she slipped up and told Simon not to hit 'Daddy," Also notice that when he was singing Lucy got really close behind him. Is it true that he sang Forever Darling to her at Lucie's wedding?

  • Yes, I did notice that. When Gramma Lucy was clapping, Simon was looking at her, so Lucy moved so Simon would be facing the video camera for Lucie.

I'm still trying to figure out what song Desi sang to Lucie and Lucy at the wedding.

  • I thought it was pretty telling that she got so close behind him. What else did you notice in the video?

  • @EmmaLoveJen it was the theme to I love lucy.....If you watch "Lucy's last birthday " episode...Ricky Ricardo sings it at the end,....

  • I own the DVD of which this video clip is from. I can't get enough of it, I've watched it so many times. *sigh*. The love and admiration that is shown in only a few minutes. Watch the video carefully-it shows and tells so much!!
