I just finished "Ford County," and it was fantastic from page #1 until the end. I'm an enormous John Grisham fan, and I thoroughly enjoyed each of his works, but I think this one tops them all. Outstanding stuff . . . Kudos!

Isn't this the guy who wrote his first big book about two white men raping a black girl, and who said that the story was based on a real one - but in the real story the races were actually reversed? I mean how often do white men rape black women or girls? Not very! But black men raping white women? I'll end there.

You must be referring to "A Time to Kill". I really don't know if you had it right about John Grisham reversing the rape scenario. But one thing's for sure, the story woudn't work the other way around.

Those are called novellas--- stories that are too short to be novels but too long to be short stories.
I have all his previous books; this latest one's a must have. :-)
My favorites are The Runaway Jury, The Last Juror, The Partner, The Firm, A Painted House, The Appeal and Skipping Christmas.
He excels in whatever he writes--- whether its legal thriller, comedy, courtroom drama, you name it.

i have seventeen of his stories!the ;latest i bought was the innocent man!the best i read most at least thrice is the brethren and the rain maker!
love all his novels!still on kold for a long time is A painted house!hahahaha
