  • Wow, terrific perfomance! Well done, choirs and orchestra.

  • Renaissanceman, Thank you for the positive posting. I'm am very pleased that you enjoyed the performance and that it brought new excitement to a very familiar and beloved hymn. I think the potential in bringing music to life in a new or personal way is one of the motivating factors for all musicians to continue to strive to connect to its heart. Sincerely, John St. Marie

  • An interesting listen for me. This is my favourite of the Five Mystical Songs as I'm a bass singer and it's when the choir gets most involved :) but of course I've only ever heard it sung by English voices (and usually not properly either, being a bass sitting at the back). You can certainly hear the difference when it's sung by Americans. This is actually a well known hymn in English churches (I don't know about American ones) and the usual tune "Luckington" sounds so pedestrian after this!

  • Very tasteful! Brings back fond memories.

  • Not bad. The rhotic post-vocalic rs needed to be more firmly worked out of the choir.

  • I love this piece! This is a phenomenal performance!

  • Thank you for your positive response to the video - it was a pleasure to conduct and the musicians are extremely talented!
