  • I saw this film for the first time last week, and I am still obsessed with it - is there something wrong with me??

  • @maninthestreet01 There is nothing wrong with you. Type in 'let the right one in infected' and you'll meet a whole clan of people like you.

  • This guy should be in Hollywood

  • I swear I can hear Oskar and Eli tapping in morse code in the background!

  • Its so pretty!

  • If it helps your debate Lindqvist says the ending is a happy ending, in his opinion of course.

  • That's not Chloe Moretz.

  • @NehemiahDC Who said it was?

  • By far one of the best musical scores of any movie ever made. When I saw the 9 dislikes I was like man those people don't have souls or they don't know what good music is.The music is one of the main reason's LTROI was so great!!!!

  • @WeaponX668 Or bad aim lol

  • Every so often you see a movie (made by another country) that just blows you away. For me, Let The Right One In is one of those films...

The visual style, the characters, the storyline and the music elevates it into greatness. Its an unsual film.....but by the end you will have nothing but respect and admiration for it. Its not the sort of film you'll stick on each month....but now and again it is brilliant.

Have just bought the soundtrack on CD. Amazing music.

  • @DIGITALSCREAMS where did yoiu buy it???

  • @pOpCoRn0531

Goto Amazon and do a search for 'Let The Right One In Soundtrack'

    Hope that helps...

  • (SEMI-SPOILER) The realization dawned on me not even an hour before typing this post, just how much Eli, underneath the modern setting and attire, is VERY much a classical vampire, and more than just in her powers and limitations. If you look at this movie from the perspective that she only wanted Oscar as a replacement for her old and weary caretaker, it casts her in a whole new light where she'd feel right at home in classic vampire literature like Carmilla or Dracula.

  • @goji3755 I don't think that's fully true. Eli mentions and thinks several times throughout the book that Oskar's the first "friend" he's had in centuries...actually you might need to read the book, I don't want to spoil too much but genuine care and affection and the need for human companionship is really there.

  • @brainwasher9876 I've read it, and I believe that Eli's feelings were genuine, but there is always that possibility, at least at the beginning, that her motivations were darker, and the movies made a point of leaving that open to interpretation. The 2010 version even leans towards the skeptical future. Depending on which version you look at (the book, the Swedish film, the American), Eli could either be a return to classics, or a less mopey alternative to the Anne Rice vampire.

  • This film is so fantastic. Every time I hear the soundtrack I get chills.

  • This was a damn good movie... Havent seen let me in yet. I can watch the movie so many times... Do emotional

  • i just watched let me in and it butchered my most treasured film in the world i miss this song makes me forget all the crap in life

  • My favourite part has to be from 4:00-4:50 - such an incredible vision of beauty that enchants and warps the mind, heart and soul.

  • Absolutely beautiful, could not have fit better. My favourite score.

  • 9 dislikes? Really? OMG! LoL. Great Score BTW. I watched the original and the remake today. Both movies were Great! In my opinion, the original is the better movie. Sure you have to Read sub-titles and Sure the remake is a bit more graphic and portrays Eli/Abby to be more brutal. Both movies were almost the same, scene for scene but the original has alittle more....something. If you haven't seen the original I recomend it. Enjoy the remake anyway. Thanks for the Post! Happy Birthday Lina!!! :))

  • @SaGiTaUrlaN but surely the orignal movie soundtrack was better and the whole film seemed so much more beautiful it showed the lonelyness in oscars life and portaid friendship much better

  • @chrisjsnelling All of what you just said is true. I've seen both films, so I can vouch for it all.

  • The original movie is the definitive version. The American version, as brilliant as it apparently is, was entirely unjustified and unecessary, and like all American remakes of foreign films, an insult to the people behind the creation of the original films.

  • @sexipants

I think they were both good, yes most times american remakes mess it up but not this time. to be honest I liked the girl from the american version more but the boy from the swedish version was better, kinda funny how they switched them around too. the girl has blond hair in the american and the boy dark hair and it was the opposite on the original. anyways I dont know I liked both of them just as much, its essentially the same story and their respective actors were great so whatevz

  • @salshaker64 but the soundtrack is different. the original one is by far better than the american ver and that makes the original one is more far better the american one.

  • @sexipants Sorry I thought u were talking about the movie itself :p youre right about the soundtrack... thats how i stumbled upon this thing... I wasnt looking for the music score but the songs used on the swedish movie itself, lots of 60's swede beat which I dig alot... but yeah the music from the original movie is some of the best music I've seen on a recent movie in a long time

  • My favorite soundtrack ever, Soderqvist is a genius

  • i hate the ending its depeseing

  • @SuperDarkshaymin depressing or uplifting? thats why its so brilliant because it lets your mind decide. the ending was absolutely perfect.

  • ....this movie I must say is one of the best movies I seen in my life so far. It has emotion love hate sadness. Everything put into this one movie. Amazing.

  • a beautiful soundtrack....

  • This movie is the best ever, no other vampire movie will beat Let The Right One In, i think this is the most emotional, incredible , original vampire film i have ever seen. Eli isnt one of those twilight vampires neither a Dracula one, and i love that.

  • The original Swedish version of the move is the best one by far, (oskar) Kåre Hedebrant and (Eli) Lina Leandersson are by far some of the best child actors i have ever seen, this movie takes my breth away and this soundtrack makes you think. Does anyone know if there is going to be some sought of clip released to show you what happens to them in the future?

  • 4:08 one of the most beautiful pieces i ever heard....... and the movie is simply great, the original of course.

  • I love nicki minaj but like why is she in the sugestion???

  • The move was amazing. Much better in Swedish with english subs. It added an air of mystery

  • *sigh* this movie was breath taking, but the soundtrack really made it. minimalistic, unfussy beauty, it didn't take over at any stage but was still noticeable... what a movie! much, much better than the remake.

  • What i don't like about the remake is that it's all about Oskar (or rather "Owen") but in the book there are so many different points of view - such as the story with Lakke and Virginia which was completely skipped in it and which was poorly exploited emotionaly in the original (pretty much the only negative point in it though!).

  • I saw this movie on a movie festival back in 2008. It won my heart immediately. I remember like it was yesterday, when I was leaving auditorium with a blank stare on my face and head overflowing with thoughts. It was THAT GREAT A MOVIE. And still, now, in 2011, I let myself get lost from time to time in the thoughts and emotions I felt back then. It's an enchanting, beautifiully made, yet modest and true movie. If there had to a best vampire movie, it would definitely be this one. Peace out.

  • Breathtaking...

  • what a beautifully captured movie and soundtrack. was this the track that also played during the ending into the credits?

  • film porusza...naprawdę arcydzieło można powiedzieć ale po cichu...i złoty medal i wszystkie nagrody i wyróżnienia za muzykę, która powala na kolana...ambitnie

  • even tho the remake was good, the original one was wayyyyyyyyyyyy better, it's one of those few movies that actually kept me hooked till the end

  • Best soundtrack I've heard since Inception.

  • I keep almost being irked by all these "America is terrible at life" comments...but this song makes it hard to be angry at anything. I worship this composer as a god. Just...wow.

  • Like

  • Such divine music.

  • @stigno89 I agree ;) it somewhat gives kind of deep sadness feeling too, at least to me :\

  • remake sucks dick.

  • @MrBoBoTom I saw the remake, and it's not bad, but the original movie is better.

  • 8 dislikes, wow its all twilight guys,,which is pathetic movie..i mean how can someone dislike this masterpiece music and movie

  • american remake is only good while this is masterpiece

  • Most beautiful movie I've ever seen, but I like the book more.

  • Wow! The swedish movie directed by Tomas Alfredsson is fantastic...If the american remake is half as good as the original it will be great!!

  • Magical movie.

  • I wish i could find piano music for this! Might have 2 do it myself :) One of the best movie themes EVER

  • @Vanimic

You really should give the original movie a chance.

Not liking the language is just not a good enough excuse to do it justice.

    =)

  • @Olzme The original movie is absolutely fantastic. I've always liked subtitles lol. I haven't seen the American version yet but I heard it was also good. btw - This song is beautiful.

  • @Olzme I think Swedish is a beautiful language.

One of my favourite bands KENT write the most emotional sounding intriguing lyrics.

  • @Vanimic It's really unbelievable that the americans are unable to translate a movie into their own language with the help of professional actors..

  • @Dunderslag sweeping generalization

  • @Vanimic how does somebody hate a language? were you like sitting one day and arbitrarily decided "hey, ya know what, fuck swedish!" or are you like a language major and have syntax-related issues with swedish? i just dont understand how someone hates a language lol

  • @Vanimic you hate the language ? ... no comment. by anyways you really should watch the original. subtitles can be annoying but the original was a lot more haunting then the remake in my opinion :)

  • @CityandNoColor anyway, i dont know where to found ths movie in french sub ><

  • @Vanimic Do me a favour and try the original; it is FAR superior to the pointless American remake. If you don't like the original, that's your choice, but everybody on this video knows it won't come to that, because it's simply impossible to not like, no sorry, to not "love" Let The Right One In.

  • @Vanimic lmao "hate the language". This kicks the american version ass all the way (the american is good too but this is a masterpiece, sweden lost an oscar not allowing this to compete)

  • @Vanimic the original's better imho. Neglecting a movie because of the language is of questionable judgement.

  • @ harnikawa: same here harnikawa. this and a game called bioshock you should realy check it out.

  • This movie literally changed my life.... This is my bible, my life revolves around this movie, THAT'S how good it is.

  • Okay... there are eight dislikes.

    Why?

  • @Selrahc963 They are the people who really like the remake... till' they saw the original, you know.. resentful people... angry with themself, i mean, this is beautiful.

  • @angantyr86 I actually wasn't expecting a reply. Still this is a nice surprise.

Original is definitely better then the remake, but I do like the remake a lot. I think we can all agree it's definitely better then Twilight.

  • @Selrahc963 Jajaja... i didn't see the remake or Twilight and don't even bother to see them boths. You know i see the original first... maybe you saw the remake first, right?, or maybe you saw the original and then you though in see the remake just for curiosity, i though that, but... i don't want to risk my time, maybe would like me. Maybe will be agree in: the noise of Eli eating... IS AWFUL!!!, anyways is on my list in my channel, just pass by... take care, bye!.

  • NO NEED TO REMAKE THIS!!!!!

  • One of the best films i've seen in a long time. The soundrack it's so beautiful and perfect for the film.

Btw don't ever watch the american version of this film, it's crap!

  • beautiful music and a beautiful film and book

  • is this the song playing when he's on the train?

  • epic movie! i watched it now like 10 times and the movie keeps me touched, the setting, the language, eli, and story makes this movie fantastic!

  • the opening of this song can't help but remind me of that beautiful first shot of the snow falling down-a truly wonderful film.

  • i haven't watched the show but it sounds interesting. thing is, im terribly afraid of horror. the soudtrack is tempting me to watch!

  • @DeadHelena It's marketed as horror, but the genre takes backseat in this movie. There are some good scares and a little bit of blood, but Let the Right One In is really more of a story about two kids who love and companionship in each other after years (or in Eli's case, centuries) of isolation. There's no reason to stay away from this movie.

  • I dunno why but when the musik drops (?) at 1:00 it sounds kinda chilling

  • twilight sucks......

  • Fantastic Movie!!!

  • And the remake SUCKS.

  • One of the best soundtracks I have ever heard, it truly captures the story of the movie

  • Comment removed

  • as much as i love this movie (with a passion), im actually kinda glad that its not as popular as movies like the "Twilight" series. For people who know and love this movie, you feel a special connection. but if it was a main stream movie like "Twilight" then you would most likely feel like its just another vampire movie that was "good".

  • This is so beautiful yet tragic and haunting. It plays the emotions of emptiness and feeling lonely

  • I just watched it, and liked it a lot. Wish there was a more varied soundtrack though. Most of the music you hear is this and variations of this.

  • now i can;t until the new book let the dreams die which will conclude Oskar and Eli,s story i here its coming out in January next year in sweden of course then hopefully a translated version shortly after

  • @GaryAllen10 Really!? O___O

    NOW I'M EXITED!

  • Short long short short

    Long long long

    Short short short long

    Short

  • The score heard in the film's trailer....where can I find it? Is it available for listening?

  • The scene with the cats in this movie is scary. OMG I got freaked out.

  • yeah me too. because of the awful cgi. It looked so unrealistic it was almost a crime.

  • This was a fantastic movie!!! Are there any other films outside america like it or just as great? I want to know because I only heard of this when I heard of Let Me In and that it was a remake so I bought LTROI before seeing LMI. (not too bad, but unnessessary at best) I'd like to start watching as many outside america movies as I can so that I don't accidently watch the remake first. (I made that mistake with REC, yikes!)

  • @tamsWTFvideos REC?

  • @Avatar4EvAandEvA horror movie, I think spanish, that was remade as Quarentine. I saw quarentine first, ug.

  • @tamsWTFvideos Oooohh... Cool x

  • 8 people are twilight fags

  • Great music

  • the movie tells the story better than the book (I read the english translation). the soundtrack is just one example of how the movie is heightened with less dialogue. bravo.

  • song is hauntingly somber

  • I saw the original Swedish version last year and I was amazed at how good the film was. I was appalled when I found out about the American remake because for movies like this, the remake usually ends up being dumbed-down with more focus on effects than on the quality of the story line. I can honestly say that the remake of this film proved me wrong because it is just as good as the original. I still prefer the Swedish version, but I think it may be because it was the version I saw first.

  • 8 People were not let in.

  • That music is a work of absolute genuis!

Intelligent acting, direction and music. An infinite amount of thumbs up :D

  • Well having seen the American version, I can say it's principle weakness is the over-the-top, freakishly bad score by the normally soft and nuanced Giacchino. I was pretty good in predicting what the general problems would be, mainly the American version would lack all of the subtlety and intelligence that made the Swedish so compelling. This was spot on, though the two leads did a great job, as good a job as was possible, portraying their roles, and really did justice to the original actors.

  • If I ever start learning Swedish, this book'll be on my hitlist. Beautiful!

  • @PaulSLambeth

You can read it in an English translation. They translated the Japanese Ring trilogy and Dark Waters, by Koji Suzuki. :D

  • @compsciguy I know it's in English, but I've been told the translation's rather dodgy at times. It's always better to read novels in their original languages.

  • i got a question youtubers if she's 200 but she looks 13 and you have sex with her is that still illegal

  • I'm gonna take your question seriously because I'm having a good day.

Yes. It would be illegal since you're too young for her. She could go to jail. Luckily though shes not a pedophile. And, shes a boy. But I guess you're okay with that.

  • @AtrumMixer one of the best moment in m life was given to me by a little girl 5 years old we were in the front yard of her home (her father is good friend of mine) someone ask her is he your uncle no she said he is mi best fend (friend) when someone recognize you as friend without any interest and like you because you are yourself is priceless don't you think

  • @AtrumMixer

Eli is not a boy. She's a woman. You see her vagina in the movie. There is full frontal

nudity in this movie. It's rated R.

  • eh? no, Eli is a boy. But I'm not gonna try and burst your bubble if you're in denial.

  • @compsciguy Eli's a guy. That scene showed a SCAR where her vagina should have been. Have you actually seen a real vagina?

  • brilliant movie and book. i feel sad for Oskar though... his mom loves him a lot. And Oscar's future is ambiguous.

  • I am just proud too be Sweden's neighbor (Norway). I mean: ABBA, IKEA, As it is in heaven, Let the right one in and off course the chicks.

  • @steinover

Have you seen the Norwegian slasher Cold Prey? VERY atmospheric....great movie that is moody as all get out. Love it!

  • well arent we the best. and dont forget, we have, "mama's sheeuuttbuullaar".

  • one of the best love stories to be told!

  • estoy llorando

  • yo tamb...

  • the movie, music, story is completely a masterpiece!!!!! love it all the way!!!!! I'm in love with the story!!!! gotta have it!!!!!!

  • This is one of those rare films you don't hear much about, and you don't notice them because they don't seem all that interesting at first glance. However, when you eventually decide to watch it, you discover that underneath that shell there is so much more. This particular shell revealed one of the absolutely most beautiful stories i've ever had the pleasure of stumbling upon... :)

  • @archaon90 totally agree

It was out in sweden in 2008 but I have never ever heard of it till this summer

It is truely an amazing story and film and i am like totally addicted to it :p

I have read the book as well and I really enjoyed them

all these soundtrack are so moving as well ,they kinda expressed the hope and happiness in between sadness to me

The remake will never be compared with this one; they changed everything!

  • @Jim0rad0 I completely agree. Im not really sure how ive become so addicted, this type of thing really isnt like me, i dont think a movie has ever really moved me in such a way. The music, the child actors, everything...is just so perfect. It fits together so well. Definitely one of the best movies/stories i have ever experienced.

  • @dstewara the friendship of bullied-Oskar and the 200-year-old vampire Eli

how are they isolated from their society and they found each other

they movie brings in a lot deep feelings to me

  • @archaon90 I disagree. I thought the trailer was great.

  • @sweiland75 Yeah, but I hadn't watched the trailer before I saw the movie. I had just heard of the movie at some point and decided to watch it. But I'm with you though, the trailer was very good indeed. :)

  • @archaon90 omg that fits perfectly

  • @archaon90 was it really that good :O i only watched half....

  • I liked the ending very much but the plot was very goood too :)

  • this is, easly to say, new "Interview with the Vampire".

and hollywood twilight crap can suck its undead dick.

  • @IrbisPL I agree

  • I think we're all incurring in a mistake: This story is not different from Twilight. This story IS Twilight. Because Meyer's abomination is —and will be remembered as— a bad prototype, a failure, a monster born horribly half-made... While Let The Right One In, is Twilight as God intended it to be. A Vampire story which will mark one of the highest points in the genre since Dracula itself.

But anyway... It feels so nice to say it! This story kicks Twilight's ass!!

    And the book.. A masterpiece!

  • @ToyzInThaHead Please don't give god any credit for the masterpiece that Låt den rätte komma in is. A fiction of our mind shouldn't be given credit for anything.

  • Such a lovely movie.Made me get a lump in my throat at the end and with the theme which is beautiful.

This is my idea of a vampire movie.Pure Class!!!

  • So, let's make this clear... Let The Right One In is a brilliant tale of love that redeems its protagonists from the darkness. "Twilight" is a story of an emo girl who meets a guy who claims he's a vampire but could be just another guy with a history of emotional problems and they stare at each other. The two films/stories don't compare - period.

  • Does anyone know if the song heard in the trailer for this, is an actual song to listen to? I gotta know.

  • It is so sad to see how the media is manipulating the audience by feeding us Twilight crap.

While there are a hundred times better movies just in front of us.

  • I wanted so bad to watch this movie, but none of my friends wanted to join me. I went to the movies by myself and it was pretty much the best movie i've ever seen at the movies. Just loved it! It was so worth going by myself!:)

  • @mcarousel I'd always go to the movies with friends/family if they are going to sit and be silent and not distract me.Otherwise it's a first and last time. :)

  • it is a shame that U.S. ''rape'' this movie and many others whit they crap remakes.

  • @viktoresunaz Don't worry m8.Shit movie like remakes are only for the simple minded individuals.

  • currently reading the book after having watched the movie and i love both of them. I think the movie was brilliantly adapted from the book. They took out things only to make certain parts ambiguous so the audience can make up their own mind, so it stays true to the book only more is implied and subtle in the movie. I've done a review of the movie, come check it out on my channel

  • This is the one of the certain movies made for this and next generation.

Which is also raise the millenium.

  • Does anyone know what the name of this song is?

  • @JordanPAT on the soundtrack i think it's just called Let The Right One In. it's under that on itunes.

  • God I love this movie. It's so beautiful, and just so....refreshing. WAAAAAAAAY bettter than that twilight crap hands down.

  • @writerlily1 I don't think the movie even remotely compares to crypto-sexual fantasies of a frustrated housewife-turned-writer...

  • @writerlily1 i agree! have you read the book?

  • @hunterstreet13 There is a book?!?!?!?! I want to read!!

  • @Lamiadumorte87 Yeah, I just read it. It's amazing!
