In all honesty Harry Potter has changed me so much. I know for certain I would be completely different without the books. I wouldn't be where I am today, I would have been in a very darker mind set I think, they really helped me out. I think they've helped everyone out. I think they've touched us all so much that when and if we have kids we'll be reading HP to them every night and they'll have favourite parts and be telling us to read it "in that voice like you did before".

It almost makes me wish the movies had never happened--the books started a lot of kids into this love of reading that the next generations won't be interested in sharing. Why spend a week getting the same story you could get in two and a half hours, is gonna be the argument--but it's NOT the SAME.
i was the first person in my old primary school to get a harry potter book, they got better and better each year i think im gonna burn a candle at the end of the last book.(im a little high). but anyway the movies are still coming out an the new luna lovegood is v.v.v pretty (like the rest of the cast) if i was a year younger, didnt have a girlfriend id knock on her door =)and shes only a year younger than me. It is sad...I think the price going down would kind of represent how...in the future, how much people value the books might go down. =/ It really is sad. But that's why people need to keep reading! And hopefully HP will live through future generations if teachers make sure that their students read it and so on. At least, that's what I hope for. I know my kids will definitely be reading the book.
My kids'll have no choice :] I'll probably read it to them in the womb, haha. It is such a shame, because it doesn't deserve to be cast aside as 'just another children's book', or a good deal at Borders.
I think much of the fandom is suffering from "end-of-HP depression..
