He had a controllable rocket, he used a motor to spin it - so he turned on the motor and fired the rocket easy as that but a midget wud be funnier lol...
There was a very small midget underneath, holding an igniter.
He was spun very fast in the oppsite direction, just moments before launch. This countered his disorientation for a few crucial seconds, so he could ignite the motor.
I would guess by either have a very sparky igniter held in place against the fuel (but not attached to the engine) or some kind of remote controlled flame, like a butane lighter with a solenoid to operate it. I looked on the net but didn't find out howit was done. Still, very cool!
Was that a new throw on spin stabilisation? or a new spin on throw stabilisation?

lol id put the rocket on the side so it helps the frisbee spin but that was pretty impressive, kept the thing very stable. =)

Cool idea, and great flight. It's interesting how it still comes down like a normal frisbee. It makes for a nice recovery.

If he attached tons of tiny rockets on the sides of the frisbee and then turn it on and threw it, it would spin forever
DylanHilldog 3 years ago
I was thinking it would be rockets along the sides too!
johnschaser 3 years ago

Fantastic. The best motor I can think of to fit in that place would be an Aerotech E6-RC if you can find one. About 7 sec burn time.

Unfortunately, he perished during the launch...

how did you ignite the motor with it spinning?bp?
