  • my list from eaziest to hardest:

Galaxy Man (too eazy to dodge)

Splash Woman (eazy, simple to shot down the fishes etc)

Hornet Man (i dont see why Overhazard thinks it his 2nd hardest.. its eazy to shoot the bees)

    Concrete Man (not that hard)

Jewel Man (this one it begins to get tougher, takes awhile to figure his pattern)

Tornado Man (can be hard to dodge the tornados)

Plug Man (also hard to dodge, esp with tha terrains)

Magma Man (hardest in MM9, very hard to dodge when he gets close u!)

  • @WoWfan924 If you ever want to see why I have trouble or not have trouble wih some Robot Masters, check the playlist--it should be on the right column.

  • Dude my grandma would play better than that!

  • this so isnt a air man ripoff

  • my experience from easiest to hardest robot master:

    Galaxy

    Splash

    Concrete

    Jewel

    Hornet

    Tornado

    Plug

    Magma

  • Here's how they rank for me.

Galaxy Man (even though Splash Woman is weaker)

    Splash Woman

    Jewel Man

    Hornet Man

    Tornado Man

Concrete Man (Because he's a cheap bitch)

    Magma Man

    Plug Man

  • idiotic cursed. so easy that is the game

  • This game can be a bit of a dick move to anybody.

  • where did u get R. Jet? and how do i buy stuff in mega man?

  • The Rush Jet comes after you've beaten four Robot Masters.

You spend screws in the shop. On the main menu, there's something you can select just below Magma Man.

  • thanks a lot :D!

  • enemy umbrellas? fucking amazing!!

  • 4:21 EPIC FAIL!!!

  • Rush double-crossed me.

  • I later found out that I could. Foreground clouds...background clouds...they're all the same in most games.

  • this level's music is one of the best tracks ever in my opinion

  • You know. In 02:53, you can use the Jewel Man Shield in order to reflect the shots of Machine Gun Joe.

    Also the shield of Protoman

  • Megaman has always been very nice in it's RM/level difficulty balance. If you find a hard stage, expect an easy boss. Find an easy stage, make sure you have their weakness ready.

Course there are exceptions. *COUGH QUICKMAN COUGH*

  • There's also Galaxy Man. His stage was really easy, and so was he.

  • 00:55

    No helmet?

I haven't gotten this game yet, but whats with the no helmet?

  • You can buy a "Book of Hairstyles" from Roll, which causes Mega Man to take off his helmet. He takes double damage like this and gets his helmet back when he dies.

  • its easier if you jump on the rotating platforms constantly

  • i just bought this game from the playstation store last week and haven't beat 1 level its hard as hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mega Man 9 is definitely not an easy game. But because Mega Man gets more powerful as you play, the first stage will always be the hardest.

  • Yeah, I got it on 360 a couple days ago too.

I'd say try to beat galaxy man's stage first. It's probably the easiest.

The game starts to get a lot easier once you start collecting different weapons.

If I can do it, you can do it. I've always sucked at megaman.

  • same here, I actually started with hornet but galaxy was also very easy. the rest were impossible without the right weapon for me

  • i like this level but it's hard as hell

  • This level has one of the best Mega Man tunes ever.

  • Oh, the wonders of the 8-bit era, when a steel-nerved robotic superhero can't move faster than a brisk walk, can't duck, can't shoot upwards, and can be killed by touching an umbrella.

  • They could build monuments to that amount of fail.

  • dude, you're fails have earned a sub!

  • Plug Man's stage is definitely hard, at least until you understand it completely. Then it's as easy as pie. I find Tornado Man's stage and Jewel Man's stage to remain consistently hard, as they're based around timing, which I'm not good at.

  • Maybe you did or did not know this, but the Rush Jet can be steered up and down. I think this'd've proved helpful in more situations than one in this level.

  • It can? I didn't know that. It would've definitely been helpful.

  • this stage has the parts of ringman(similar) and toadman

  • this stage is similar to ringman's stage

  • The reviewers, both professional and reader, say that Tornado Man's stage is one of the harder ones. Either you're a natural, or you're not entirely honest.

  • Precisely. I purposely withheld as much information about the game as possible. I wanted to learn as I go and be surprised. It's a lot more fun for me that way.

  • Damn this game is so fucking hard!!! xD

  • Did you play it blind, like I did?

  • hey what happened to his helmet at 55

  • I Game Overed, went to the shop to take off his helmet, and went back into the stage.

  • 09:13 - 09:14 lucky

  • Mega Man is back! and the best 8 bitars!!

  • Talk about lucking-out at '1:53' hahaha

  • Mega Man 9 is tough no doubt about that. I am trying to beat wiley right now and it sucks cause when you don't have any more energy tanks you really have to rely on skills!

  • This music is Awesome!

  • Seriously, am I the only one who thinks Tornado Man looks kinda like Harpuia from Megaman Zero?

  • No you are not the only one who thinks that.

I'm sure Tornado IS Harpuia "8-bitted", just like Splash is Lev, just with a tail instead of legs >_>

It's cool to see 8-bit versions of awesome characters like them but... Inafune could have tried not to stick with what he already had.

  • I definitely see the resemblance, but I don't think they're the same. Most likely, this was an intentional move to show that Dr. Light is transitioning to more advanced robots.

  • No, I'm not meaning they were prototypes of each other, but rather the same design - on 8-bit.

  • Ah, that's what you mean. I'm also pretty sure they're related.

  • Because you were born in 1992...?

Most of us who get this game do so because of our fond memories of early MM games on the NES, y'see.

  • That makes sense =/

  • I never played a Mega Man game on the NES, actually. But I liked the novel approach for this game. It's an interesting artistic statement.

  • Dang you fell down a lot huh? I really get nervous around wide gaps and pitfalls

  • to get da life use the bees its easyer

  • The spikes on the ceiling don't serve much of a purpose, since Mega Man can't really jump that high (I think), and the tornadoes don't blow him upwards but just straight up damages him.

The Tornadoes do blow him upwards if you jump when he uses them. And the spikes do serve a purpose. I should know.

  • Oh, you can definitely get hit by them. I accidentally got hit by them during the rematches against the Robot Masters in Wily's Castle 4.

  • The first paragraph was quoting your description.

  • It is? I'm not sure how...unless you mean that it basically means I beat Tornado Man.

  • Read the last paragraph of your description. :P

  • Oh, you mean the first paragraph of your comment to the last paragraph of my description.

  • Umm.... sure?

  • When you said, "The first paragraph was quoting your description," I thought you meant the first paragraph of my description. So I went to look at it and wondered what they had to do with each other.

I took another look at this match, and I don't see Mega Man getitng thrust up when he hits a tornado in midair. He jumps higher when Tornado Man is in the air, though it wasn't too hard for me to jump the right height.

  • He did get thrust up when I was going against him.

  • Hehe.... You ranked Jewel Man second easiest?

I have more trouble with him than I do Concrete Man... I can't get used to the fact that he keep mimicking my jumps.

  • I jump to avoid him. I played through his stage on another game save and found that he runs slightly faster than Mega Man, that a Mega Buster shot to a jewel sends it flying at Mega Man, that he always runs to the very end of the room before running back, and that he never stops except to fire his Jewel Satellite.

Together, this made him very predictable. He's not as patterned as Splash Woman or Hornet Man (who still gives me incredible difficulty), but his attacks are simple.

  • I found this stage to be the hardest of the Robot Master stages, an absolute nightmare for me. Yet Tornado man was quite easy once I figured out his pattern.

The entire time I was playing Tornado Man, I hand a certain song stuck in my head: Air Man Will Not Die

I'd love to link it but Youtube hates links in comments so just do a search for it or find it in my favorites

  • Tornado Man's the one Robot Master in this game with an instant kill technique, so I'll bet that's why he's a bit slower and attacks for less damage than the other Robot Masters. Though I got significantly better at the game as I went, which is why I ranked him as just above Concrete Man.

  • Just bought the original and I can only get past Cutman's stage. I suck at it, don't I? :P

  • iThe orignial Mega Man is really really hard. It was a huge surprise to me. I challenged Guts Man first, and the first time I died was to the group of Mettaurs (the hard hat guys) that you begin the stage with.

  • really? Wow. I can get to gutsman, iceman, fireman (worst name ever, but...), and electricman, but killing them is... well... near impossible. I killed bombman though a few minutes ago. And I always thought they were called Mets, not Mettaurs. I guess the show mislead me. :(

  • Do you prefer "Torch Man" as he's known as in the Mega Man anime? I prefer "Torch Man," but I can understand why he was called Fire Man. ("Met" is short for "Mettaur.")

I finished Mega Man 1 on the Anniversary Collection under Normal difficulty. That was a feat, considering that I later found out the Anniversary Collection has heightened speed for all of the games (which is why all of Mega Man 8's Robot Masters had these strange sped-up voices).

Its Elec Man, by the way, not Electric Man.

  • To be honest, Elec Man sounds stupid in my opinion. I have a request though. Seeing as you have it, if you could be so kind as to play through Megaman I, it'd be awesome. I really would like to see you play the game and beat the robot masters' butts, because you seem to be really good at this game. People say MM9 is one of the hardest, or is MM1 harder than this?

  • Considering the Anniversary Collection moves faster than the real thing, no, I won't be uploading videos of Mega Man 1. It wouldn't be a fair comparison.

  • Wow, this is a cool game. I know it's kind of stupid to ask you here, but will you be doing Super Mario RPG anytime? That game is a TON of fun and I highly suggest you trying it out and showing us here on Youtube how you do.

  • I've already played through Super Mario RPG. I enjoyed it, and I've uploaded one video from the game. Look for "Tadpole Pond."

  • LOL i havent played this game in a long time

  • But it hasn't been that long since it came out.

  • hey overhazard if u are reading this have you heard of a show called Xiaolin showdown cause i watch it and it ownz!! well this games music has gott abe incrdible and tornado man's ability ownz so wenz your next vid against that professer guy? well cant waitz! cyaz!

  • Yes, I've heard of Xiaolin Showdown. I enjoy it, bit I don't know what that had to do with anything.

Anyway, I'll be uploading videos of Dr. Wily's Fortress soon. I played for a while, but not I have a PBR appointment so I had to stop right when I got to Wily.

  • 4:24

    Umbrella owned.

Anyways, so Tornado Man's purpose was to counter hurricanes with tornadoes? Heh..

Wouldn't the tornado still cause damage?

Well w/e he does, he seems damn good at destroying..just not so good at being a challenging boss =P

    Nice playthrough.

  • I don't know how that's supposed to work. All the background stories were made after the Robot Masters were designed, and it's a stretch, at the least, to find a way to make a beneficial use to someone named "Tornado Man."

  • I like the music in this stage. They did an awesome job with the soundtrack in this game. This stage overall seemed a bit easy compared to some of the others, but it was very creative and the music was catchy.

At 00:57, did Mega Man lose his helmet?

  • People say this stage is one of the harder ones. But maybe I'm getting better at the game.

It seems I began that stage with one life remaining. When I died, I Game Overed. I found out I didn't have any supplemental items, so I went to the shop, bought some Energy Tanks and an M-Tank, and while I was at it, also bought the "Book of Hairstyles," which lets Mega Man spend one life without his helmet. (It doesn't make a difference in his abilities.)

  • Undressing him, I see. =P I kid. I figured he just lost it spinning around on those batteries. That would've been a pretty cool result if you stayed on them for too long.

Anyway, I think I see it. When you press pause, it's the absolute bottom-right square in the Items, yeah?

I would say that you've played the game enough to where it looks easier the more you record, but that last stage seemed like a doozy compared to this one.

  • Kind of like how the octopi in Splash Woman's stage inks you if you get hit by them; I avoided pausing at all the second time I faced her. But this isn't a stage effect.

And yes, that's the Book of Hairstyles. I never tried buying more than one, so I don't know how it works.

The difficulty is unbalanced, definitely. But people tend to say this is one of the harder ones whereas I don't see people talk about Hornet Man's stage as too difficult.

  • man that tornado boss must of have been frustrating for you

  • They all were. But that's part of the fun. It's no fun if I learn all the weaknesses right away and barge straight through.

  • one more pixel in the victory jump and megaman would have killed himself

  • Whoa, you're right.

  • hehehe its funny to me how almost every stage in this game has an enemy or characteristic we can relate to.

Did this one take over an hour to complete too?

  • This one took 41 minutes, so no.

  • How cheap... That parasol robot just swooped down and knocked you off the platform.

  • nice

  • lol 4:23 really nice use of the rush jet!!

  • Ah, so this is where the original trailer music came from

    Neat

  • Good job with all of the Robot Masters (and one Mistress).

At around 6:56 when some tornadoes are sent up Mega Man seemed to be jumping higher. If you hadn't hit the wall you might have touched the spikes. Just a guess though.

  • true that.

  • I'll bet that's why Tornado Man does the least damage per attack--he's the one guy with an instant kill technique.

  • So all of a sudden, Jewel Man became easy? You must've been practicing him in between videos.

  • It's because I learned of how he works after I had finished, and compared to Plug Man, which I used two Energy Tanks after dying like 10 times, I used two Energy Tanks without knowing what he's capable of.

  • I like the Music, it's catchy.

  • I have a slightly different list to yours, again easiest to hardest

    Splash Woman

    Jewel Man

    Hornet Man

    Tornado Man

    Plug Man

    Magma Man

    Galaxy Man

    Concrete Man

Actually was the first level I did and I beat both Tornado Man and his stage on the first try, either I'm excellent at this this game or super lucky... Most likely the second one.

  • Well, this is with using the Mega Buster alone, so the order might be way different. What's the trick to Hornet Man? I can't beat him with just the Mega Buster and no Energy Tanks.

I'm naturally bad at reacting to things and all that though, and I'm playing the game blind--I don't know what's going to happen or what's ahead.

  • Hornet Man, take to Bee's (at least 2) out first and jump over him... That's all. I found it a bit annoying at first but if you get the timing right it's easy. I found that FLOWER more annoying than Hornet Man (By the way Hornet Man was my favorite Robot Master of this game).

Oh and if only Mega Buster, here's my new list

    Jewel Man

    Hornet Man

    Tornado Man

    Splash Woman

    Plug Man

    Galaxy Man

    Magma Man

    Concrete Man

  • Interesting that Galaxy Man would be so far down, since I found him to be incredibly easy. He can only harm you if you collide with him, and all of his attacks are telegraphed at least a second in advance.

The bees seem to take two hits to the Mega Buster. I can't get rid of two of them when they're coming out of Hornet Man, so I have two or three of them following me around. I have a video of Hornet Man, if you can see what I'm doing wrong.

  • ues the magma blaster thingy

  • Huh? Against Tornado Man? I want to find out the weaknesses myself.

  • ohh no for another robo dude.
