its been said time and again that the wealth/power of the Rothschilds, Rockefellers, and a few other families far far exceeds that of Gates, et. al. A look on wikipedia says something like the wealth of the Rothchilds being at around 1 billion [inwhich these versed researchers scoff at]. maybe you might want to look into this. just an idea. ~cheers.
Bill Gates INCOME isn't 50 billion a year, that's his net worth.
Now Make a video that graph of the average American income compared to the rest of the world. Oh look at that we are around the top. BOOM! rich people are good, quit crying!
Keep more of your income than you spend. Then with the earnings that you have saved, you can then invest it to hedge inflation. With the values of your savings and investments, your net worth should increase.
@Yereviltwin2 Why do you defend a system that continues to reward the extremely wealthy at the expense of the rest of us? Don't you wonder how much better things would be for all of us if those billionaires had to throw a little more into the pot rather than cutting government programs that help keep the poor off the street and healthy? Or would you prefer that money be in a swiss bank account? Without gov programs for the poor, millions will die. Is that what you want?
@tneighbors yeah, it is what [many of] the elite want. they want to depopulate the planet in any way, shape and form possible, as they see us as sub-human, or parasites, etc. researching this will prove my point.
@Yereviltwin2 -- The best way to have rich lower/middle class is to have lots of businesses. Redistribution of wealth currently planned is GLOBAL not just the US. Global income is $2 per day -- global government = global poverty. This video about World poor/immigration demonstrates the point with gumballs. Easy to understand. I'm voting Ron Paul as his financial plan doesn't cut government assistance checks, as he balances the budget.
When I say that the state doesn't tax the rich enough, all the hell rises from the Americans attacking me as a commie (I'm not, I'm a social democrat).
A capitalist investor earns from labor of several people. They benefit the country's infrastructure and people multiple times. Compared to a person who only earns a salary.
A nation transfers its wealth to the rich investors if you don't tax them multiple times harder than a common laborer! End result: ultra-rich minority and poor majority.
If the fanatics and extremists defend CEOs getting paid BILLIONS of dollars for working LESS than slave labor prisoners, then you have to defend MY free speech right to advocate blowing up and killing every senator, congressman, prison guard, and cop and cheering whenever somebody does it, because they are BOTH (unequal income, my free speech) legal.
Wealth and income has ZERO to do with actual productive useful work.
Those who do the most valuable work - environmentalists and animal rights activists - get paid nothing but SHOULD get paid $10^10 a year.
We need to mandate by LAW that EVERYbody gets paid the same per unit hour of labor.
The hypocrisy of the extreme anti-communists is that they are all gung-ho pro-law-and-order if the law is very unlikely to punish THEM and THEIR behavior. But you never hear them defend communist law.
People (i.e., the bottom 99%) REALLY need to get off their ass, stop watching the irrelevant Casey Anthony trial, and get to work organizing before the US turns into Mexico or Russia. We are on the verge of a shift to third world like income disparity, and that will trigger the planned methodical destruction of democracy as we know it.
The fact of the matter is, it is Steve Jobs & many CEOs like Jobs who use their incredible managerial skills to greatly improve not only their companies but also improve the quality of the products. I mean, without Jobs, there would quite literally be no Apple no mac and no ipod!
Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniack both came from a pretty modest background and made the computer affordable to the common man!
If income tax is a fixed percentage, then those with larger incomes pay proportionally more tax; e.g. if tax was 15%, if you earn $1000 you pay $150 in tax while if you earn $100,000 you pay $15,000 in tax. That seems immensely fair to me. It seems nonsense to me to say that THE PERCENTAGE TAX should also increase. If bread and gas were priced like that, i.e. you pay a higher percentage of your income for a gallon of gas if you earn more, then the more you earned, the less you could buy!
All this graph shows is that there are very few very rich people and that the vast majority of people have incomes less than $100,000. Why should we be outraged at that? The graph misuses statistics to mislead the stupid. The graph looks pathological as it is the reciprocal of an income distribution curve. An income distribution curve plots the number of people with incomes between $YK and $(Y+1)K versus Y. This curve would fall sharply after $100K, as the number of very rich is very small.
There aint no inequality especially in the US. The mere fact u still got clothes on ur back & food in ur stomach shows just how wealthy u are- hell even the poor in the west are able to afford a computer- lolol
The real inequality and the ONLY inequality is in productive capacity
i shall not repeat the arguments of thomas sowell & walter williams, but if the ceos were nothing but cancerous trash, then do u really think the companies would be WILLING to pay them millions for their services? lol
u dont even know the first tennant of the free market!
oodata is really using poor logic here. If ceos really did nothing and if the ceos didn't change the companies net worth significantly, no one would hire them in the first place!
If Apple was worth as much without steve jobs, if it was really worth MORE without steve jobs, would Jobs even still be the ceo of Apple?
"If Apple was worth as much without steve jobs, if it was really worth MORE without steve jobs, would Jobs even still be the ceo of Apple?"
Lol. Learn the concept of "value of labor." Sitting in an office making money and phone calls isn't labor. Where you work doesn't determine the value of your labor. And you're telling me to learn what free market is. What a fucking joke.
The ill educated & arrogantly willfully ignorant attempts to mock the more intellectually honest & well educated
u dont even know what are keynsians, property rights, hell u dont even know where the FUCK rights come from. And if u had actually READ the fuckin books i told u to read, all the answers are laid out in there. Thomas Sowell, walter williams both destroy such weak myths as spouted by the left
Go look up the tennants of free market. u dont even understand a single one of those. yet u are very quick to blame free market for all economic troubles while totally ignoring the fact that MOST if not ALL of those economic troubles, from the great depression to the depression of 70s, to dotcom bubble, to even the housing bubble were all caused by & perpetuated by government & foolish leftist keynsians!
Lol. I know what they are, that's why I'm laughing at you. Everything you've accused me of being ignorant of, I actually know more than you do. However, I'd rather admit I don't know something than act like you and pretend I do, and try to get everyone else to believe me.
You are a joke. A clown. An act. You are the crazy guy on the corner that everyone watches just to laugh at. You are ironic, tragic entertainment. Nothing more.
Good for him! Sorry, just calling them facts or fallacies doesn't make them so. I do this thing called research, and I lack these things called greed and stupidity. Keep living in your bullshit MINEMINEMINE dream world. Oh, and it's impossible to debunk a fact. Pretending the rules affect everyone the same doesn't make it a reality.
I am thoroughly ashamed that I belong to the same species as people this stupid and dense.
If u wish to throw YOUR money, YOUR food, YOUR house into the fire, go right on ahead, i do not care. If u wish to invest YOUR money, YOUR food, YOUR house, go right on ahead, again i do not care!
But u may NOT touch my money, my food, or my house! that is MINE NOT YOURS! lol god damn- even a fucking 2 year old can understand that much. What is mine is mine, what is urs is fuckin urs!
I think if you were one of those people that couldn't afford food and needed assistance, because you couldn't GET A FUCKING JOB because nobody is hiring, you wouldn't be saying you deserve to die because you can't "contribute to society."
Actually, if you died it would be a major contribution to society. Nevermind.
Many of the ceo's who are paid 'millions' for their work are paid millions cuz they actually contribute something. Can you turn a million dollar company into a MULTIBILLION DOLLAR COMPANY? if u can't then shut up about "inequality" cuz the only thing unequal is that u are complaining and not producing!
There aint no such thing as a fucking free lunch!
"Many of the ceo's who are paid 'millions' for their work are paid millions cuz they actually contribute something."
CEO's do fucking nothing. The people they HIRE do all the work. And please name me one single person on the planet that EARNED their billions of dollars through hard work and innovation. They all inherited it. And the more money you have, the easier it is to make more money.
Milton friedman, thomas sowell, walter williams, frederich bastiat, hayek, and every REAL economist has pointed out the countless fallacies of such socialist/communist/fascist notions & totally debunked the idea of "inequality". There aint no "inequality" except the inequality of productivity.
There is NOTHING noble or just about "income redistribution". That is merely theft! It is never charitable nor humane. Its impossible for it to be charitable or humane since the very predicate of "income redistribution" is that gangs with guns(aka Govt) STEALS using brute force to INVOLUNTARILY take from the PRODUCTIVE bit of the economy and give to the unproductive.
There can be no justice when the actions are themselves unjust!
How dare they take a single-digit percentage of my income to help people that can't help themselves! If they can't afford it, let em die! And who needs the police, fire department, emergency medical services, or roads and highways? This is armed robbery! People should earn their success through hard work! That's what the richest people in America did, right? It's not fair! Everybody in the country is exactly the same, circumstances don't matter!
the post office is broke, most "firefighters" are volunteers, and really the whole notion of statism and socialism is illogical & irrational. Fredrich Bastiat had long since destroyed such false notion of statism & socialism
you do not understand a damn thing about economics or the free market. i doubt you even know what the principle requirements of a free market is. hell i bet u dont even know what property rights are.
Sure, it's illogical and irrational if you're selfish, ignorant, and narrow-minded. I know a hell of a lot more than you do about free market and property rights, because if you knew anything about either of them you wouldn't be saying half this bullshit.
Or maybe you would. Fox News and conservative media indoctrination seems to be pretty effective to the uninformed and uneducated. Or perhaps misinformed and miseducated would be more accurate.
You should be celebrating the inequality of conditions & the equality of opportunities- this means that there exists opportunities for u to accumulate your own wealth through ur own hard work & efforts & ur property rights are bein respected. This is what must be celebrated & encouraged. Not some loofy unreal & impractical 'equality of results' since such equality only results in "EQUAL SUFFERING" and nothing more
Hence why, under the constitution, you are guaranteed NOT equality of conditions&results but merely the equality under law. Inequality of results&conditions is almost preferred. It is only logical, sensible, and PRACTICAL. Being able to succeed also means being able to fail. But its this opportunity to do either or both which governments & others must never infringe upon or else its criminal- an injustice against the liberties of the individual
It doesn't matter whether billy wins 10x, 100x, a million times, or loses a billion times. If these conditions are met- if the rules are met, then there is justice, if not, then its iinjustice
Socialists often confuse "Equality of Results" for "Equality under the law". If one is striving for the utmost of liberty & justice, then one cannot concern himself with "equality of results" but must only look @ the equality under the law- thus providing the greatest degree of opportunities.
To answer this question, one must look @ the PROCESSES of how the results were achieved not the results themselves- were 5 cards dealt to each person starting from left to right? were the cards shuffled properly? etc
If these conditions are met, then regardless the outcome, you have JUSTICE and equality under the law.
There is no way u can determine any form of justice or fairness by merely looking at results. Because justice is a process question. For example, if u were playing poker and someone won 100 times another person lost 100 times, and another person won only 20 times, and another person lost sometimes but mostly won, so is there poker justice?
I've been calling my Senators offices this morning to express my revulsion at their signing of the pledge to hold Americans hostage to an extended tax break for all Americans. With a little research one realizes that corporate welfare (tax breaks for companies making huge profits and paying little tax while paying huge executive bonuses) dwarf social welfare programs in this country. We cannot continue to give bonuses to the wealthy and deny unemployment pay to the unemployed poor!
If you excluded the billionaires, what would the graph look like? A bell curve, but with a reduced total income? Also, income isn't the same thing as wealth. Is this a chart of wealth or of income? There are many "income affluent" people with underwater jumbo mortgages and negative "wealth". It seems everyone uses the terms "wealth" and "income" interchangeably, but they are not the same thing. 30K income and no debt is wealthier than 100K income with underwater mortgage (for example).
Well done, nicely illustrated. These folks have us convinced that they are so smart and bring good things and progress to the country ... but they have failed miserably in the modern times. It used to be that rich people had some morals and responsibilities to the country. Also ... they have fixed it so that investment income pays no taxes, so it is all on the backs of those who can least afford it. Sickening.
todd please don't comment on bill gates unless you are bill gates. the graph shows that america is the land of the freedom. the freedom to get rich and that's about all it is about anymore
Have you ever been so fed up with life that you put a gun to your head? I want to start a revolution... a revolution for the people who are discontented with life...With the way things are set up... who are sick and tired of chasing money and dreams that will never come to fruition because we were set up for failure.
check out my blog... wake up and see how f'd up reality really is
Amen dpg54. You have hit the nail with a 50 lb sledge. I wish opportunities were truly equal in America. People would be educated enough to realize whats bullshit and whats not, then be able to beat out the rich and network connected individuals who may not be as skilled and talented. That is a democracy, but it can't be achieved because of the already off-balance distribution of money and power.

How many people have a home, a decent retirement, televisions, computers because of Bill Gates??? His contribution to society is infinitely more than what the vast majority of people contribute. In addition to all of the jobs he directly provides his company has greatly increased our productivity in other areas of the economy - thus allowing us to earn higher wages. Also, Gates contributes millions to charities. The poor do none of this. This is nothing but an attempt to divide people.
Actually Bill Gates donates at LEAST $5 billion FOUR times a year. Let's put THAT up on a graph compared to what the author of the "L Curve:" or ANY of you socialist idiots give.
Another thing for you all to remember is that the Iraq War alone (not including Afghanistan) is costing us $250 million dollars per day, which works out to about $2700 per SECOND. Think about how many SECONDS of the Iraq War your annual income tax bill is paying for.
Liberals are blameless...conservatives are to blame and ALL republicans are conservatives. Only about half of Democrats are conservative. Like i said...thank the republican party.
@diezungen Err, Democrats have supported time and time again the same (or sharply similar) economic platforms that maintain the L Curve just as the republicans have.
Here, watch this video, it's rather illuminating. watch?v=nVVBaZmRoUw
@diezungen Nah, the liberals are knee deep into it, including Obama, the "socialist" lol, the sooner you do away with the sinister myth that establishment liberals work for us, the better. They're just a bit less extreme than the conservatives, but they otherwise agree on the basic principle that your money should go to the top 1% and that your children should be sent to fight wars on behalf of the oil companies of said top 1% :\
This is a bad idea. They make a big tax on millionaires and then inflation makes a million dollars not worth much and then YOU rise up into that tax bracket. Poverty is caused by partially by the government stealing via unsound currency and deep deficit spending. Make the government live within its means. They are the main source for most of the problems.
Just as important is the fact wealth BIDS up the price for everyone else. This is not technically inflation but it reduces living standards even if one maintains a static income.
I hate Bush more than anybody but this idea that the problem of the middle class wealth is not taxing enough is insanity. The middle class and poor should be trying to get tax breaks themselves to whatever degree they can while using sound money. They do not understand who is stealing the most from them and giving it to the banks. It is the government itself that is the biggest crippler of the middle class. Put a stack of 100 dollar bills representing government debt, it goes up to the planets!!
...ah and yes, who has taken most of this corporate government welfare, it's been the banks, it's been the wealthy, including the corporations. No one else has this clout. As he says, "Money makes money in our economy, not from labor."
Whose taxes are being cut, and at whose expense...
This is a good idea but where is the illustration showing how much everyone makes? I need to see the different amounts not just hear "it's 1 meter high". An even line on a football field doesn't tell me anything.
Taxes cover what we share as common interests, and keep our country strong. No taxes, and we slip from the ranks of the kind of nation most of us visualize.
Of the many problems now, taxation is a larger burden to those who can least afford to pay them, and our nation is slipping away from us, faster and faster...soon to join the ranks of the late great Roman and Greek empires, where we will look and find America no more.
You badly do not understand the money system. The less taxes the poor and middle class pay, the better off they are. Government should be limited in terms of how much money they print and especially spend.
Absolutely and the politicians and banks will never allow people to have a real store of value in a direct way. They will have to figure it out for themselves.
Taxes do indeed cover what we share as common interests and CAN keep our country strong. Unfortunately excessive taxes can weaken our country and drive jobs overseas or make them disappear altogether. When they are used in a punitive manner they are destructive.
flat tax. the people on top pay even more than the percentage of wealth they control. In fact, many tax cuts on the so called "rich" are actually attempts to create a flat tax. Rich people still are taxed more; just not half of their wealth.
they have more money, so they can exploit more loop holes an wind up paying somtimes less than 10% in taxes, then bullsh-t artists go around complaining about how the rich "Pay more than everyone else" as if though they are starving. 10%taxed of 10 million of course,is going to be way more to pay than 40 or so % of the taxed income of a person making 200 thousand... but in the end who is left with the way more money?? the person with the 10 mil.
Absolute bullshit. If they have more money, they'll only use that to cheat proportionate to their income. So on average, everyone probably gets to keep the same percentage of their taxes due to unfair play.
By making income tax percentages higher as you make more, the amount of money someone has to pay increases exponentially, and makes every extra hour somebody works worth less. Do you see something wrong with that? I do.
that is true for someone breaking his/her back working 12 and 18 hr days, at $7.00 per hr, (which why people making that much dont really pay taxes and shouldnt have to anyway)but someone making 10 million dollars a year is not working. they are doing shit to keep themselves busy and calling it work.anyone holding a job is forced to pay income tax illegally. unless they are working outside the U.S. they dont have to pay income tax.
Wait... if the person with $10 million isn't working, why are they being paid that amount? Are you referring to the literal form of work, as in the amount of energy transferred by an acting force? Cause if so, you're way off subject...
continued:what I said in context, was that a person breaking his back 18hrs making $7.00 hr is no comparison to somone making 10million a year,no matter how much shit he writes off!!! of course mr./mrs.10million are going to be paying more.all youre doing is arranging numbers and terms like "porportionate" and "fair" to create the illusion that the rich are suffering and have to stand in soupkitchen lines and take welfare just to make ends meet cause they pay more taxes.
We were talking about taxes?? yes? you took a vague opinion of mine with no clarification or background as to why I said it and made up a question based on it without asking for clarification about what I meant. I suspect, probrably trying to create a red herring, who knows?? I say what was meant in context in the next comments marked :continued
"if the person with $10 million isn't working, why are they being paid that amount? Are you referring to the literal form of work, as in the amount of energy transferred by an acting force?"
Because employers are stupid shitheads who have tons of money they can shit around without caring about the consequences, and when they fail, they get bailed out by gov't. That's how.
Literal energy would at least be a starting point for fair income.
i think some how you got the idea that i think rich people should be taxed more than anyone and thats not true.i also dont believe in b.s. luxury taxes, property taxes(especially property taxes).car taxes income taxes, earned interest taxes etc. Ronald Reagan basically said that every cent of taxpayer money goes to to pay interest on the national debt. that means all the money is going to the goddam bankers. So what since does it make for me to want the rich to pay more taxes??? for what??
And yet you insist that everyone pays taxes simply to keep the rich rich. It's true that you have to spend money to make money, but a majority of the rich in America start with near nothing and make it on their own to the top.
davidsnowlu: 54% of Americans with an over $10 million net worth are actually born into middle and lower class families.
resp: so being born into families they did actually have to get things for free. they did have to take things they didnt earn.they had a place to stay.and if they didnt have THOSE THINGS, they definitely had to take handouts.
Not all taxes are equal. Income taxes ought to be lowered or outright eliminated, as they hit labor and not rent (rent is the basis of extreme wealth). Rent, predominantly LAND rent, should be taxed. A generalized income tax is hardful and an invasion of privacy (and im not talking about the billionaires). Google Henry George, "Progress and Poverty" for an old introduction.
Some people may question the validity of these tables. I suggest you read any of several books by prize winning economist Dr. Ravi Batra. His most recent and perhaps best book is "The New Golden Age". He shows how taxes on the rich do not hurt our economy-quite the opposite.
You can also read ex-republican Kevin Phillips books and the last was "Bad Money".
anything you post on myspace/facebook-i'd recomend it be concrete and evident not just seemingly sensible but things that we can all see and KNOW need change.
"Pleeze don't do a graph of the bail out money. I am afraid of heights..."
No graph, but figure it out for yourself. $1Trillion is 1000 x $1 Billion. Since $1 Billion, on this scale, is 1 km high, $1 Trillion is a 1000 km high stack of $100 bills.
how many? pretty much all of them. it is their purchase of product that determines job creation. do you imagine the rich create jobs out of the kindness of their hearts, or because by creating jobs they can make more money?
I don't want income tax cuts, I want income tax abolishment. I also want to abolish the patent system and repeal all the privileges that large corporation use to funnel most of the wealth of the economy into the pockets of filthy rich stockholders. Public stock markets should be banned as corporate securities should be traded solely between corporate employees while they get all the dividends and voting rights.
In germany we once had the DMark, but since there is a Euro, everyones income is as half as high as before but everything costs the exact same thing, maybe even more.
and Bush gave the rich a tax cut! why? not like they care about paying $100,000 yearly. $1,000 deductions daily from 1 Million would take 2.73 years... funny that.

The fact of the matter is, it is Steve Jobs & many CEOs like Jobs who use their incredible managerial skills to greatly improve not only their companies but also improve the quality of the products. I mean, without Jobs, there would quite literally be no Apple no mac and no ipod!
Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniack both came from a pretty modest background and made the computer affordable to the common man!
molmp334 11 months ago
If income tax is a fixed percentage, then those with larger incomes pay proportionally more tax; e.g. if tax was 15%, if you earn $1000 you pay $150 in tax while if you earn $100,000 you pay $15,000 in tax. That seems immensely fair to me. It seems nonsense to me to say that THE PERCENTAGE TAX should also increase. If bread and gas were priced like that, i.e. you pay a higher percentage of your income for a gallon of gas if you earn more, then the more you earned, the less you could buy!
Polle1006 11 months ago
All this graph shows is that there are very few very rich people and that the vast majority of people have incomes less than $100,000. Why should we be outraged at that? The graph misuses statistics to mislead the stupid. The graph looks pathological as it is the reciprocal of an income distribution curve. An income distribution curve plots the number of people with incomes between $YK and $(Y+1)K versus Y. This curve would fall sharply after $100K, as the number of very rich is very small.

There can be no justice when the actions are themselves unjust!

ootdega 11 months ago
You should be celebrating the inequality of conditions & the equality of opportunities- this means that there exists opportunities for u to accumulate your own wealth through ur own hard work & efforts & ur property rights are bein respected. This is what must be celebrated & encouraged. Not some loofy unreal & impractical 'equality of results' since such equality only results in "EQUAL SUFFERING" and nothing more
swu880 1 year ago
Hence why, under the constitution, you are guaranteed NOT equality of conditions&results but merely the equality under law. Inequality of results&conditions is almost preferred. It is only logical, sensible, and PRACTICAL. Being able to succeed also means being able to fail. But its this opportunity to do either or both which governments & others must never infringe upon or else its criminal- an injustice against the liberties of the individual
swu880 1 year ago
It doesn't matter whether billy wins 10x, 100x, a million times, or loses a billion times. If these conditions are met- if the rules are met, then there is justice, if not, then its iinjustice
Socialists often confuse "Equality of Results" for "Equality under the law". If one is striving for the utmost of liberty & justice, then one cannot concern himself with "equality of results" but must only look @ the equality under the law- thus providing the greatest degree of opportunities.
swu880 1 year ago
To answer this question, one must look @ the PROCESSES of how the results were achieved not the results themselves- were 5 cards dealt to each person starting from left to right? were the cards shuffled properly? etc
If these conditions are met, then regardless the outcome, you have JUSTICE and equality under the law.
swu880 1 year ago
There is no way u can determine any form of justice or fairness by merely looking at results. Because justice is a process question. For example, if u were playing poker and someone won 100 times another person lost 100 times, and another person won only 20 times, and another person lost sometimes but mostly won, so is there poker justice?

If you excluded the billionaires, what would the graph look like? A bell curve, but with a reduced total income? Also, income isn't the same thing as wealth. Is this a chart of wealth or of income? There are many "income affluent" people with underwater jumbo mortgages and negative "wealth". It seems everyone uses the terms "wealth" and "income" interchangeably, but they are not the same thing. 30K income and no debt is wealthier than 100K income with underwater mortgage (for example).

I like this, except the graph is VERY compressed. You are going to need a MUCH longer football field to cover 307 million Americans.
If $40,000 = 1.5 inches, then the $14.2 Trillion gross domestic product = 236,666,667 inches, or 3,736 miles.
So the football field is actually longer than the United States.
Put another way: The '30 mile' mark of Bill Gates's $40 Billion: Divide Bill Gate's Wealth by 307 million Americans. Your share: $130.

GomersRevenge 2 years ago
Just as important is the fact wealth BIDS up the price for everyone else. This is not technically inflation but it reduces living standards even if one maintains a static income.

I hate Bush more than anybody but this idea that the problem of the middle class wealth is not taxing enough is insanity. The middle class and poor should be trying to get tax breaks themselves to whatever degree they can while using sound money. They do not understand who is stealing the most from them and giving it to the banks. It is the government itself that is the biggest crippler of the middle class. Put a stack of 100 dollar bills representing government debt, it goes up to the planets!!

flat tax. the people on top pay even more than the percentage of wealth they control. In fact, many tax cuts on the so called "rich" are actually attempts to create a flat tax. Rich people still are taxed more; just not half of their wealth.

And after they pay all those "high taxes,"How much do the rich get back after tax shelters, taking advantage of tax loopholes and writeoffs??
redn40 2 years ago
They, just like everyone else, steal a proportionate amount of their taxes back by exploiting every possible tax benefit.
davidsnowlu 2 years ago
they have more money, so they can exploit more loop holes an wind up paying somtimes less than 10% in taxes, then bullsh-t artists go around complaining about how the rich "Pay more than everyone else" as if though they are starving. 10%taxed of 10 million of course,is going to be way more to pay than 40 or so % of the taxed income of a person making 200 thousand... but in the end who is left with the way more money?? the person with the 10 mil.
redn40 2 years ago 4
Absolute bullshit. If they have more money, they'll only use that to cheat proportionate to their income. So on average, everyone probably gets to keep the same percentage of their taxes due to unfair play.
By making income tax percentages higher as you make more, the amount of money someone has to pay increases exponentially, and makes every extra hour somebody works worth less. Do you see something wrong with that? I do.
davidsnowlu 2 years ago
that is true for someone breaking his/her back working 12 and 18 hr days, at $7.00 per hr, (which why people making that much dont really pay taxes and shouldnt have to anyway)but someone making 10 million dollars a year is not working. they are doing shit to keep themselves busy and calling it work.anyone holding a job is forced to pay income tax illegally. unless they are working outside the U.S. they dont have to pay income tax.

He shows how taxes on the rich do not hurt our economy-quite the opposite.

anything you post on myspace/facebook-i'd recomend it be concrete and evident not just seemingly sensible but things that we can all see and KNOW need change.

everyone should post this on there myspace pages and facebook pages...along w/others like this..I reccomend searching on here for:
"GOOD Magazine: Skid Row Part 2: Kids"
"John Q clip 1987"
"Former LA Police Officer Mike Ruppert Confronts John Deutch"
"Steven Seagal's Ending Speech from "On Deadly Ground"
That is if you live in the U.S. we need REAL change-not just nice talk about it from diversion tactic empty speaches.

I think the 20 million people who got good jobs under Reagan would disagree with you on that.

There is NO WAY you can justify the ASTRONOMICAL difference between the haves and the have nots.
Not to this extreme.

how many? pretty much all of them. it is their purchase of product that determines job creation. do you imagine the rich create jobs out of the kindness of their hearts, or because by creating jobs they can make more money?

I don't want income tax cuts, I want income tax abolishment. I also want to abolish the patent system and repeal all the privileges that large corporation use to funnel most of the wealth of the economy into the pockets of filthy rich stockholders. Public stock markets should be banned as corporate securities should be traded solely between corporate employees while they get all the dividends and voting rights.

Excellent way to put it, the visuals are brilliant.

you people are complaining.
did you had every single cut by half?
In germany we once had the DMark, but since there is a Euro, everyones income is as half as high as before but everything costs the exact same thing, maybe even more.

and Bush gave the rich a tax cut! why? not like they care about paying $100,000 yearly. $1,000 deductions daily from 1 Million would take 2.73 years... funny that.
