If you want to become a GREAT MATCH PLAYER go to my channel ( 2knowfun2 ) and watch two videos: World class tennis (part1/2) and (part2/2) . My two videos will teach you how to become a great match player... my two tennis videos have covered pretty much everything that is important in tennis...from "how to hit high quality groundstrokes" to "match play"... Everything important about tennis is compressed in my two tennis videos... Watch and become a Great match player
This guy presents the clearest and simplest tennis serve technique on youtube that works. Just try out what he suggests on the tennis court and you will see that this is a very good basics technique for your second serve. The result will suprise you.
You can also watch the video titled "Tennis serve pronation", by Brent Abel for your first serve. Peace and have fun on the tennis court.
Check out golf tips for power (or baseball or anything else). Plant your back foot and pivot the shoulders (shoulder turn) around the body. It's all about winding up and delivering to the ball from the ground up.
That's your basic frying pan serve. You really don't have an athletic move into the ball, no turn, very little knee bend, no pronation, no left hip stretch, no vertical component. As a consequence, you are hitting the ball about 30 mph.
Get a few lessons from a local pro or watch a lot more videos online. You have a lot to work on.
Dude, you realise that this dude works at the highest level, presents at ITF conferences and works at top acadamys don't you. This video is for beginners, and the principles are to develop a feel for the ball at this stage. getting it in the box when stood on the service really doesn't come in to it. tard.

I feel like I'm using my bicep muscle too much when serving. Should I be using my tricep instead? My bicep becomes so sore that I have to stop serving. I recently tried gaining pace and I'm trying to shorten my service motion to that I'm using mostly a lot of wrist snap. Please let me know what muscle to use most when serving. Thanks.
The biceps isn't really a huge element of the service. There is triceps extension, but it does not play a major role either. Leading up to contact, your arm should straighten out and relax. If you're trying to spin the ball by contracting your biceps upon contact, it takes a lot of power off. The muscle groups in use are the deltoid (shoulder), lats, and pectorals. It may just be the case that your biceps is relatively weak. If the pain is fatigue rather than stress, this is possibly the case.
Practice using the wrist. Go outside or somewhere where you wont smash anything. Just do the normal service motion, (arm in the air after ball toss) and just focus on the part where the racquet is scratching your back to where you want to snap your wrist. It looks deceiving but the part where pros look like that are fully stretched, that part they dont even feel because all they have to do is worry about snapping that wrist hard through the ball, the rest will come naturally.
thank you for your tips but you say , don't put down the racket behind, in a other video (not yours) he says for more power scratch your back with the racketfor !!!!
This guy is right on as far as my experience goes. I'm making the comment because there's A LOT of instruction out there that makes the serve appear like such an impossible feat...I't's really not. The best thing is to keep things simple and make it into a one fluid motion. Throwing a baseball should help you a lot!
What's wrong with the serve taught in this video?? I've seen the other "kick serve" videos, which I thought were great. Think its a great video for beginners or people giving lessons like me.
Great Video, Check out this ebook I found that really improve my game.

You should really use your legs to push your self into the ball. That and your hips need to rotate into it if you know what i mean.
