@dgcmusi Bach sometimes affects me that way too. . . my favorite composer. He had a gift of expressing the whole range of human emotions. LOVE his music!
I walked in this Church in New york one day. As I walked in the front door the organist was practicing. He was playing Bach, I fell to my knees and cried like a baby. The woman I was with thought I was nuts. It was one incredible moment in my life. I will never forget that day. I had no control.
my high school graduation was at St. Patricks Cathedral, and the way Pomp and Circumstance sounded on that organ was AMAZING...my hair stood up as my fellow graduates and I processed into the cathedral. I was wondering if you would be able to play it at the cathedral and post it please?
Quite a stretch on that 5 decker, isn't it? This would be a good console for a basketball player to play. I'll bet it was a thrill for you to play that magnificent instrument. Did you tape more of you on it?
Thanx for the comment on my Bohemian Rhapsody on the theater organ, and I hope you look at my other videos, too.
Haha. The tuner said "Go ahead, give it a shot" I tapped middle C and the thing was like an air horn on a boat. I'll have that clip and some more soon! Thanks!
@cromorne What is the name of this hymn? I have always loved it and can't remember the name of it.

Oh my goodness! Peragallo Organs built my childhood parish's (St. Philip the Apostle in Clifton, NJ) organ! It's amazing to hear this one!

By chance the company that tunes the organ also built my church organ, and they offered to give me a tour and let me play.

18 inches? I bet that was loud!
CantorNikolaos 3 years ago
It certainly was, despite the fact the resevoir was leaking air pretty badly. The Trompette en Chamade is louder, on 33 inches!
cromorne 3 years ago
what caused the resevoir to leak, old age?
BassPedal2009 2 years ago
No, it was just the high pressure of the Triforium Trumpet (18")

do all resivoirs make the sound of a tire being with air being in flated into it like at a pump or is the resivor on my church organ leaking too haha

@cromorne
Great accoustics, too. Awesome reverb in that venue.

Unfortunately it won't be any time soon, as I was invited by the company to visit. If I do get the chance I'll try.
