At this point in time they are basically both the same anyway so it doesn't matter who the president is, the same outcome will occur. And Lincoln could have cared less about black people he wanted to send them all back to Africa and Haiti. Read a history book that isn't from a high school.

The ideals of that time that linked with Republicans, would actually link today with the Democratic ideas because of the switch that occurred in the early 1900s with the election of Teddy Roosevelt.
