@GORIZARD5 Well, a mod, basically, is something that uses a game's engine to make something different and new. A mod could be an addition to the original game, or an entirely new game in itself. Take Classic Doom 3 for example. It takes Doom 3's engine and recreates the original Doom with it (and very impressively and faithfully imho). Some mods even let you the player mess around with the game's engine, like Garry's Mod does with Half-Life 2's engine. Hope that helps you.
