Took me forever to remember this band. I loved them when they were popular.
I remember in the late 80's, they played in a small roller skating rink in Fullerton, CA. I drove by and saw the sign for the gig and it made me sad that this great band was going to play in some weird venue.
Music management, starting in the late 80's, was so screwed up & it snowballed into the current fiasco.
just do not get it...the plimsouls were one of the best LA bands from the late 70's early 80's and somehow never broke...classic sound...great live...still going
Thanks for posting the song. Love the movie, definitely part of my youth but the music still rocks some twenty something years later. Like, totally bitchen, fer sure you know! LOL!
@SephoraLife watching that episode right now. which made me look it up 1 minute 33 seconds ago. when there on the road trip. i know all episodes because i own them all and see them all atleast 3 times or more on some of them maybe. Except season 8. Well cya later (:
this song was on my all-time fave episode of one tree hill (which is the best show EVER with the best music EVER) and i love this song soooo much!!! its one of the best songs they've ever had on the show IMO

@thecastleanthrax1 lady gaga gets help from PROMOTERS, COMMERCIALS, IPHONE,IPAD,INTERNET, TWEETER,EMAIL, CELL PHONES, AUTOTUNE etc.. and what ever shit is out there to promote her music and of course we have the little shits who don't understand REAL music to make her popular. none of this was available to artist in the 70,s and 80,s. doesn't matter lady CACA is a one album hit wonder.! if that silly bitch can carry on for a decade like beatles, zepplin then she will be another FOOTNOTE!
Do you really really regret that a great song such as this wasnt overly played all over the radio. I dont, its great just the way it is. Let it bring back all those great memories. Long live the greatest southern california garaged band.
this an xlnt song The Plimsouls are a band that has been sadly and unjustly sweept away to where ever Great music goes when its long forgotten... Thank you for the song... loving it... tube on..\m/ - fevrdog \m/.
This is one of, if not the best songs about lost/failed love there is. It is one of my most favorite songs of all time. Someone ripped off my Valley Girl cd that had it on it too. I refuse to go iPod just yet because I have thousands of cd's. That Valley Girl cd was hard to come by too!
valley girl--OMG---i broke up w/my h.s . love when i saw this movie. icried 4 days,--------i think hes in jail now LOL. GREAT SONG, bring back the 80's !!!!!!!!
THIS is my favorite Plimsouls song! I remember the Valley Girl scene very well. Nicholas Cage, a strange beauty, getting kicked out of the bar and getting sick in the alley...
In the movie "Valley Girl," this song plays during a love scene between Nicolas Cage and a girl in a club. It's too bad I never saw the girl in another movie because she was (is?) SMOKIN'!
DarthmouthAlum.... i dig what you say about Valley Girl. isn't another great scene when the guy on the bike knows he wants the cougar... but keeps circling around, thinking about it... getting his courage up? and The Payolas are playing Eyes of a Stranger in the background.
Excellent call on the cougar scene in "Valley Girl"! That has always been one of my favorite parts in the movie. However, if I'm not mistaken, "Eaten By The Monster of Love" is the song playing during that scene. Thanks for the great memory!
Excellent post. Thank you. I had an American girlfriend during the 80s; she introduced me to The Plimsouls and I introduced her to The Icicle Works. Good times. Very good times.
Making out in the back seat to this song is what I remember with my chic. The Plimsouls had a real home sound like the dudes in the band that your older brother hung out with and it worked because it got you babes by association. "If it worked, milk that cow till it runs dry"!
God! I love this song. I also think the movie "Valley Girl" is a classic. I lost my Valley Girl soundtrack cd or it was stolen, so I'm very happy to find this on YouTube.
Awesome. Peter Case and the Plimsouls were epic. Can anyone post "Now" by the Plimsouls? This was also briefly played in the Valley Girl movie, however, is uncredited and not in the soundtrack. It's another awesome song which is tough to find. I was only to find a cover version here on YouTube. Help!
Fell in love with this one in the movie "Valley Girl" back in 83. Took me more then 10 years to get a hold of the OST here in Norway. Finaly managed to import it from the States. Man I'm thankfull for the internet! Makes things a lot easier :-)

Peter Case still rocks! Seen him in San Diego on 19 Feb. 2011. Just him and a drummer.
Skilled guitar player, his electric guitar playing sounded like he had a band behind him. No band. Just him, guitar and drummer.
