Wow i thought this was the worst song Mayer ever wrote at first. I thought it was too bland, but as John does when he screws up he ends up getting you to like it. I now love this song. I think it is one of the better ones on the album.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: John Mayer is THE songwriter of our generation. He's on par with the best--honest, clever, and memorable. I would liken him to the likes of Dylan or Lennon, in my opinion. It also doesn't hurt that he can play the heck out of a guitar, has an amazing voice, has a great ear for composition and producing, and a witty trademark personality.

John was hospitalized when he was 17 for a cardiac arrhythmia. It sort of changed him and that's really when the song writing began. Shortly after though, he began to suffer panic attacks, and consequencially, fits of fearfulness. To help keep his system under control, he was perscribed Xanax, the pills in his pockets. He's physically fine now though (I think), but isn't it pretty amazing how this song describes the actually history of his life! I think it is anyway.

wow. its not just that this song is cool, its the effect this song has on u in terms of its placement in the album...after you listen to the other songs, the way the contrast makes u feel...wow. And its like he held back on going all out with the guitars on this, its teasing, cuz i wish he would go all out and make it "fuller", but I guess its not meant to be a bigger than my body.
