  • This is like liquid energy, dynamic & graceful ! If you close your eyes, you can almost see the fire & the dance.

  • love it! the combination of the sound of the strings to the beat of the framed drum. I can listen to it all the time.

  • BEAUTIFUL!!! i like

  • I would love to meet liu fang...and this song gives me Energy for some reason....This makes me think of the Stories of a warrior or something having to Get Something Important but has a paralice journey in the mountains and has to defeat a demon to get the treasure...Does that make Sense at all or am i mumbling?

  • @zanewoody a little sense and a lil mumbling

  • @zanewoody , I understand you :)

  • lack of respect for music when they clap to early loved the performance as always from Liu Fang shes the best pipa player in the world

  • The only places in the world in which i would live in the country side are places in Asia, because asian country sides are beautiful, especially if u get a chance to listen to music

  • Lovely

  • he is iranian and he play DAF ((a Persian percussion))

  • 風月無古今,情懷自淺深。

    此曲聽來,個人覺得是別情依依~~應是盛會將盡,分手在即~~~~

  • I think im in love with Liu Fang :p

  • Amazing

  • sigh... people are so impulsing to clap in her performances

  • 恕我孤陋寡聞。請教曲名?

  • 《火把節之夜》,吳俊生作曲。

  • simply mesmerizing!!

    two thumbs up!

  • Names that end with -sian are often Armenian.

As in Petrosian, former world chess champion.

  • It's developed from lute. if you look at early pipa, it's look playing style is very similar to lute. However, both instruments have changed quite a lot since then, and now they are completely different.

  • Liu Fang never ceases to amaze!

  • 很好!!!!

  • 這是很美麗的音樂。你可以聽到在音樂中的悲哀,它幾乎像你的在故事中當你聽它時。

it says: this is very beautiful music. you can hear the sadness in the music, it's almost like your in the story when you listen to it. (this is written in traditional chinese)

  • fantastic!

  • OMG holy crap i just realized the song is composed by my pipa teacher wu junsheng...WOW

  • omg i play the pipa

wish i can be as good as her one day

  • do you know where i can get a pipa i live in the united states

  • hm well i got mine from my teacher who got it from china

i'm not really sure =/ you could just google chinese instrument stores, but i think you need a professional to pick out a good one

  • im dealing with this same problem. ive been looking on ebay but i dont kno what im doing lol

  • lol yea I never found one i just kind of gave up but have you ever heard of the band incubus

  • He is one of the best percussionist, originally from Iran, now Canadian.

  • thanks for d information..

  • persian

  • is that guy malay or indian

  • thats Persian. and thats a Persian daf

  • masterpiece

  • Very beautiful playing, fantastic instrument.

  • they don't call her the empress of the pipa for nothing. she's so intense when she closes her eyes. that guy is keep looking at her, i think he's having a hard time keeping up....haha

  • pipa is a really nice instrument!

i learn that instrument, and its really great!

    I LOVE IT! ;D

  • Liu Fang keeps on proving that her mastery of this difficult instrument is complete and unchallenged.

  • That's gotta be difficult to play. There's no way to pinch the neck, so you have to fret strings by pushing one way!!! Beautiful music.

  • I've always loved this song, so I can't help but feel like the framed drum is quite extraneous in this performance? The pipa itself is quite a percussive instrument, and I much prefer this song played solo, as opposed to having this drum beating away in the corner.

  • i think it is a good combo, i like the pipa solo too, but i think this isn't that bad

  • Yes, I agree. I have "The Rough Guide To The Music Of China" (World Music Network, 2003. This piece interpreted by Liu Fang with another percussionist is the last track. I love her interpretation. It is beautiful, romantic and very touching.

  • So fabulously romantic!
