I love these little air hogs planes because when you break the foam fuselage then you get the electronics do make a new plane. I am going to try to make a small B-25 bomber with my electronics.
great vid and great ideas.. ive made a couple of minis also ... a p51 mustang and a pbf they fly better than any of my other planes.. now ill make something like u made.. ill b posting a vid in 3 or four days.. 5*
is there any way to get better shots of how its all balanced and set up? Any measurements? I have an Air Hogs F-18 thats trashed and the guts are is a rubber powered glider at the moment. It flies well but doesn't turn the best with the long wings.
I have some 3mm Depron and would love to make a representation of yours.
Hmm..maybe I'll post another video, but that mini flyer is not together any more. Words of advice, make it as small and light as you can, but not too small. It's good to make a prototype and use a weight to test if it will fly. The tail should curve up slightly to allow constant lift and the fins are to keep it stable, but also lift the back end up so put place them at a 45degree angle. You want it to glide when you throw it.
Mainly, make sure you place the battery in the sweat spot - a little front heavy. Good luck. Also, 3mm foam is thin so use one thin strip of balsa wood on top next to the bat + motors. Place the motors in the middle but slightly to the front of the plane.
Hey, that's really great! I'd love to source epp foam, I'll tell ya, no oone has it. I've been raiding computer boxes, printer boxes, shredder boxes, whatever I can find!
How do you join your foam, hot glue?
Nice job! Must be very satisfying to build it and then have it work! :)
can u show a video on how to build this. by the way i love it

Thanks. You have to order the foam online. Just do a search for "epp foam". I'm using 3mm thick peices, hot glue and the jet aero ace electronics.

you can get the foam from wall mart cvs or any arts n craft store. get the styrofoam posterboard n jus peel off the paper

Yeah, but epp foam is better because you can bend it and it doesn't break. You can also use styofoam plates, but I like epp.
