  • Wow I know this video is old, but I'm going thru the same thing. Stopped taking my BC and my face is thru hell...even started wearing make-up bc I'm so self-conscious. Did your condition get any better?

  • @MsJLong27 yes, once I got on some medications from my doc. You should see a dermatologist. Your hormones may be unbalance.

  • lol it's funny that u said that about your skin being oily because when I turned on your video u had me crakin lol "Ms. Dana, that's my intro. lol!" Then u said that about your skin because when I turned it on I said dang her nose oily u had me whipping my nose off lol my nose does the same thing lol!

  • When I come off my BC my skin breaks out bad too. It was so bad that I started getting chemical peels. My skin was extremely oily like hers when I started. The peels DRASTICALLY improved my skin. It lightened up the scars and filled up my "craters" so they weren't as deep and my skin was no longer oily! If I could afford more treatments I would but for now I wash with a mild soap, use Origins Brighter By Nature pads, they are like 30% peels, then some Avon Basics moisturizer.

  • Touching your face s the first problem second putting your hair around your face is a no no because all the oil in your hair is going on your face and making it worse, second wash your face twice a day with a mild soap like Dove nothing with oil in it, try maybe Spectro Gel I'm not sure if it's available everywhere but it is very effective. Drink lots of water and eat less sugary foods and increase foods like raw veggies like carrots and brocolli and bluberries which help clean out your system.

  • your nose is like..wet. wth

  • The same thing happened to me!

  • the persa-gel and oil free cleanser works awesome!! they helped keep my skin clear for a good year and all of a sudden I broke out pretty bad due to stress and hormones..

  • what birth control were you taking?

  • @MsBrittanyC1 i cant remember.... ortha tri cyclen low

  • DO NOT WASH YOUR FACE MORE THAN 2 TIMES A DAY, morning and at night, overwashing your face strips your oil from face and drys it out causing your skin to produce more oil than it regularly would, dont use cocoa butter, cuz it really causes your skin to produce oil trust me,when it comes to toners dont use any with alchol in it cuz it just creates more oil. As for acne you should talk to your doctor about doxycyclinehyclate and perhap some over the counter topical treatment Best of luck girl!

  • I went through a phase of using several (sometimes up to 10 products) on the same day! Apart from putting toxic chemicals into my skin (and ultimately into my bloodstream) and wasting money, they did nothing for me, infact, they made things worse. I would recommend, washing with a gentle non-comedogenic/non-oily cleanser (2-3 times a day) and applying some over the counter (2.5%) benzoyl peroxide and being patient. Its hard, but in time, your skin should get back to its normal self:)

  • I think you may be using too many products on your face which it can messup your PH balance of your face, along with eating fruits, vegatables and drinking only water, it will help

  • hey girl! Hang in there! praying for you, i made a video about my acne skin during nuvaring, if u want to hear my story! but after stopping birthcontrol skin got worse again, so now i am on antibiotic gel for face. and that helped, now i'm avoiding preservatives and food coloring. that' helped TREMENDOUSLY. skin is almost clear again! good luck!

  • u need t find an oil reducing cleanser and stick with it... dont try out so many things cuz that confuses ur skin and also do an asprin mask 2-3 times a week

  • I am going through the same exact thing with my skin. From the first 30 sec. of your video I can see some of the causes of your acne: you keep touching your face and you are producing too much oil, also you are literally attacking your skin with all these products! The simpler the better. I recommend just using a mild skin cleanser with NO acne fighting properties (like Clinique mild cleanser) and use Queen Helene Mint Julep clay mask to spot treat over night to fade scars and dry pimples.

  • @ayyad13 thanks for your advice!

  • I cant handle dis right here, I CANT HANDLE IT. I feel you, my skin straight turned on me. I had that greezy skin but im turnin a darker shade now with all these acne scars..

  • @Mutsa101 awh i hop things get better!

  • i SWEAR by this product. My face freaked out on me too. I know exactly what you mean by cutting off the first later ha ha! I wished for the same. I tried this and it worked for me AMAZINGLY. My face is completely clear now. Good Luck!

try Oxy maximum strength face wash. its in a black bottle.

PS it wil dry out your skin i used vaseline, the baby version.

  • you need a soap with birch tar

  • @annet48 I never heard of that? Do you know who makes that kind of soap?

  • @MsDanaKay

Really? It's insanely cheap and versatile helps even vs dandruff. But the smell is disgusting)). It acts as an antibacterial, and dries the skin, what you need. I thought that it is sold everywhere and in your country too but I live in Russia, and here it is sold in almost every supermarket. Maybe in pharmacies have anything like that.

  • Ppl seem to talk a lot of shit about how oily your skin is but seriously you won't wrinkle no where near as fast as someone with dry skin!U r nicer than me!I'd cuss them out and block them but,you do the right thing! Many blessing and don't take any crap from anyone.

  • @tucutekelly girl i know idk they are just helping my vid out by commenting!!! Thanks for watchin!!!

  • yea dnt use too many products espeically if it not natural , try african black soap it clears ance nd blemishes I use it nd it does da job just use a gof face lotion cus it can b dryin nd I use ambi fade cream

  • Girl listen to me

    This is what you do

    1. Drink water 5 Litres a day flush out all dem toxins

    2. Get milk of magnesia (philps brand) rub it all over your face then apply moisturizer because its like chalky. This shit absorbs all the oil off your face even If you have extreamly oily skin

    3. You're using too many damn face products

Stick to one, I recommend cetaphil.

4.moisturize although your skin is oily moisturizing will stop more oil from forming

    5. Stay away from refined foods (sugars etc)

    6.

  • I know exactly how you feel. You said that this happened after you STOPPED the pill? I just finished Accutane and my acne came back after a month. I went to a gynecologist and endocrinologist, they ran some tests... Turns out I have PCOS, which causes stubborn acne. I'm on birth control, and things seem to be getting better. If you think something is wrong hormonally, don't hesitate to get it checked out! Best of luck to you. <3 You're still beautiful!

  • @baroquesky yes i have some hormone problem also, so my gyn wanted me to take the asteem. so we will see! its almost time for me to come off!

  • omggggg! im looking at this and it reminds me of meee! like wtf im the same exact way and i be covering up my face and im madd self conscious..like wtf do i do to get rid of this!!!?? and I have acne scars just like her..smh

  • i thought birth control was suppose to make it pretty my sister takes birthcontrol and her skin is flawless

  • NEUTROGENA CLEAR PORE WASH/MASK WITH BENZYL PEROXIDE CLEARED UP MY BREAK OUT IN 3 DAYS... ITS THE BEST ...ITS SO GUD I WENT AND BOUGhT 3 BACK UP..give it a try cos my break outs was on the side of my face just like urs and know 2 weeks later my face is smooth to the touch..hope this helped.

  • @pinkfusion90s thanks!

  • To get rid of the acne marks, you can use Mederma. Usually when i get oily in the T-zone area, it might sound really crazy, but you can go to the bathroom, and get the toilet seat tissues. You can see all the oil from you skin on the tissue.

  • @peaceXxloveXxtaylor thanks so much for the advice!

  • DO NOT USE AMBI!!! Use Estee Lauder Products

  • @mzrestless why? whats wrong with it hun?

  • @MsDanaKay I know everyone's skin is different but i noticed when i used the ambi clenser it made my skin worse. I spend the extra money and buy estee lauder sparkling clean mud clenser and i also buy estee lauder moisturizer works amazing but a lil expensive but u only need a little so it last long

  • does ambi work i just brought the fade cream and cleansing soap?

  • @718desgrl I like the soap cuz it makes your face feel so tight and clean, i havent used the fade cream, but when my skin was awesome, i love the ambi, i lived by it. ambi an coca butter!

  • Try Bleaching Cream by Black&White , i heard it really helps with clearing up dark spots. I'm going to try it. :)

  • Thank you for sharing. My face breaks out off & on. I got the bumps and spots under control .But open pores on my face suck. Hard to hide them even with make up.

  • @2mariebl what did you do?

  • @MsDanaKay I am still working on my face problems. I have breaks out from time to time."Stress" I just had knee surgery 3 weeks ago. I watched your videos to see what kinds of make up I can use to cover the open pores I have on my cheeks

  • To get rid of the oilies I use Witch Hazel. It doesn't dry out the skin at all.

  • Well if you ever decide to get off the birth control again, Talk to your Doctor about Biotin it's a vitamin that helps with your skin, nails, and hair. I have been using Biotin for 5 months within 2 weeks my skin cleared up and I still use it for my hair growth so my skin continues to stay clear. Also use Shae Butter as a moisterizer for your skin I heard it's better then cocoa butter and it evens the skin tone .

  • I think that you are using too many things and trying to many things on your skin. You should try using one brand. I was told the marykay acne treatment was really good and also use the timewise sensitive oily combination for your skin. It might help.

  • danq! its not supose to do that. its supose to prevent that! thats why my doctor put me on that . well goodluck =]

  • it started messing up after I STOPPED taking it!! I am taking it again now though!

  • omg im so happy im not the only one, like i get so embarrassed w/ my self, like every product i used my face would still act up, its pretty gross, but yeaah do these products really work for you?

  • i have an updated vid that should be posted on this vid, just check it out!

  • also in the video you keep touching your face.....the dirt on your hands causes MORE acne...your face is very oily....you should wash it in the afternoon again

  • PS: Proactiv doesn't work

  • my skinis JUST like yours....try tea tree oil shampoo & Vitamin A moisterizer gel....works wonders..also use honey, brown sugar, & LEMON juice as a mask..leave on face for 45min-1hr....then put Colgate toothpaste on the spots.....wash off after 15min...

use Bare minerals mineral makeup to conceal :)

  • thanks for the tips hun!

  • sweetie i'm sorry. i get the same thing and feel your pain. you'll be good in no time...can't last forever right? :)

  • awh thanks!!

  • Hey i have the same problem..and let me tell you alot of these product don't work. The best thing you can do is wash your face twice a day with regular soap or black soap and dont touch squeez the pimples. Try another brand of the birth control like yasmin. Good luck

  • thanks honey!

  • Hopefully some of this helps lol. good luck hope you find the right regimen for you :'

  • thanks for all the tips!!

  • iPART6: usually just use an all SULFUR soap(yellow bar soap) kills acne bacteria and pimples, then i use THAYERS witch hazel toner(cucumber specifacly) then i use an antibacterial liquid that i but from my derm(its rather pricey but it works) and last at night i sleep with a sulfur mask.(again from my derm) but its the only regimen that works for me

  • also about the products you use, Im no dermatologits but from my own experience let me tell you that most of these brand name products and scrubs dont work. if theres one thing ive learned from my horrible acne experience is that you always want to use the most natural ingredients on your face.

  • PART4: so my question is does BC HAVE SIDE effects i should know about since i dont take perscription medication nor do i want to ever again. i might go to a doctor soon and ask them anyway.

  • PART3;then another doctor told me to take ceratin vitamins and minerals i may be lacking such as C,E, D and i also take a good multivitamin . of coarse i play around with the vitaminS everyday. ive seen improvement on that. also changing what i eat, meaning no FAST FOOD, CAFFEINE, SALTY, GREASY, SUGARY,etc. sucks but its the truth. all i eat are vegetables and fruits and shit load of water lol/

  • PART2: even though my acne has subsided from the pasrt 2 years, im still getting break outs here and there. im so desperate that im eager to try whatever works, even if its birth control. i dont care. ive been going to the dermatologist the past 2 years now and been on doxycycline perscripton and it works only when youre on it, but when you stop it the acne comes right back.

  • PART 1: i have to ask this.. does birth control really work for acne? im asking because ive been suffering with acne for the past 4-5 years now. Im 23 yrs old. and im very superstiticious about BC/ ive heard/read it has serious side effects. also from age 12-19 i had no problems with acne whatsoever, until 19 i got so bad to the point i had the big cystic acne pimples all over my face and had to treat it with lasers, injections and facials.

  • mmm mm mmm.... is something on ur face or is it THAT oily

  • WHAT THE FUCK IT LOOK LIKE BITCH!

  • I took BCP and my skin was fine but my hair came out in patches so I stopped. I would suggest you see your derm, especially because you have oily skin. No #10 blade sweetie...that would be scary. Good luck.

  • sweet heart... you may want to go to the Dr. and have them look at your skin... when it is that OILY it usually is an indication that you have some form of a bacterial infection in your skin... thats not normal seek the counsel of a dermatologist trust me they can help u get it together

  • You may want ur doc to switch u to a new Rx like yaz which is not only a BC but has approved indication for acne treatment. So once u get everything under control pliz look for such BC.

PS:opinion from an expert in the field.

  • YAZ is in some trouble i think, but i liked the bc i was on, i just wanted to stop taking it!! that what started everything. but thanks for watching and the advice!

  • I feel you, girl. My face did the same thing--only 10 times worse--when I deployed to Iraq. I have been back for almost 10 months and even though I am no longer breaking out, I am still getting rid of the spots/blemishes. What worked for me was a combination of benzoyl peroxide; glycolic acid; taking zinc and borage oil; and retinol. I used them in cycles; first to stop breaking out, then to fade marks. Now I have decent skin; just gotta continue to fade marks.

  • glad things are getting better, thanks so much!!

  • continued...

the serum diminishes marks, you will notice a difference within a week. My skin hasnt looked this good since before middle school, im 22 now so im hella happy bout my skin.

Im a natural girl, so i hope this helps!

  • Have you ever heard of Lush? It's a store and website that sells natural products for skin, hair and bath stuff. I use their facial products because I used to have pretty bad skin too. My skin isnt perfect but it has gotten alot better, just bout nearly clear as long as i dont eat junk.

I dont buy lotion anymore, for marks/blemishes i mooisterize with all natural shea butter. I also us a brand called Juice Beauty (sold at Sephora and has a website) Blemish Clearing Serum, it a natural product

  • glitzy was telling me about the lush, i may have to check it out!! thanks!!

  • thanks so much for your advice!!

  • u sound like an island girl a lil bit cute accent :-)

  • and child all bc pills did for me was make me horny lol had to stop usin that shit real QUICK!!!!! didnt have a bf was just takin em to make my cycle regular,,,,i know thats off topic lol but i called my doctor like ummmmmmmmm yeah these aint gonna cut it!

  • i use dove too and oil of olay moisterizer for regular skin or sensitive skin (winter time cuz for some reason the sensitive feels more oily and my skin gets dry in the winter,,,ugh windburn in philly aint no joke) and it makes ya face feel lovely

  • HEllooo! I've tried using all of the dermatologists products that they prescribed to me,, and NONE of that crap works!!lol. I would reccommend using facial product that has salyicic acid in it, it really helps get rid of the acne. Another thing you could try would be African Black Soap, now this soap really helps, it has vitamin a&E as well as iron in it, and it would really help, but just use a dime size, but it will dry your face out, but a light moisturizer would help that.

  • I use the same Ambi moisturizer because of the SPF. I have had skin problems since I was 12 so I have gotten "over it". I realized I could be so much worse off like not having the use of my hands or legs. It really bothered me when I was younger, because of the teasing, but once I stopped obsessing over it I realized I was Me with or Without the Acne. I hope it gets better for You Girl I can't imagine going from clear skin to breakouts everyday! Be Blessed!!

  • o im sorry! i have had bad acne forever! and my dermatologist told me there ia this place where they idk pop/dig (its like not poping kinda like getting it out but idk it worked) out the pus and it feels like a massage and it REALLY helped my skin! like i haven't had acne in 3 months since the massage! so I would ask if there one around town! also I used to use clearsil ultra pimple blocker pen! it works in 8 hours for real! I hope this helps! It helped me =)

  • omg you gave some great tips, thanks so much!! i love massages, thats a reason for a facial!! thanks!!

  • acne free face eash from Neutrogena....very useful n will help u out for sure!!!!

  • thanks sssssooooooooo much!!

  • Acne free

worx great! in my opinion better than proactiv u can get it at costco, walgreens, cvs.....

  • ok, thank you so much!!

  • Oh... and for a make-up primer, try Pores No More by Dr. Brandt. It's $45 but it is worth it if it helps with the oiliness. I've been using it for a few days and I'm definitely less oily and my make-up lasts longer... I hope this helps.

  • thakn you!!

  • This may sound crazy but please try putting milk of magnesia on your skin. There are people on youtube with videos on how to do this. It is amazing... I used it once and my skin is now too dry and kind of tight...

Also, I use the African Black Soap and Shea butter from Coastal Scents. It's really working well and is quite inexpensive compared to other things you can buy, plus it is natural.

Something I just read about but have not tried is putting honey on blemishes too...

  • lol, thanks so much!!

  • Have you tried taking some Vitamin "A" capsules. Just look up info on Vitamin "A" it suppose to stop so much oil production on your face.

  • thank you!!

  • Love the video I was going thru something similar but it was my cell phone causing the acne on my cheeks lol....I know it sounds crazy but if you dont use a bluetooth....just clean your cell phone!!!!!!

  • For the dark spots cocoa butter is working for me, Ibut you need to let your face dry out before you use any creams or lotions to get the spots away because most of them are greasy and can irritate acne

  • If you're worried about the whiteness put the Persagel on after you wash your face and then put powder foundation over it.

To squeeze your pimples you need to wash your face, then lay a hot, wet towel over it for a few minutes. Then get a CLEAN needle and prick the top. Then you get clean fingers (not nails) and push down around the pimple until you see red.

If your pimple doesn't have any white on top don't squeeze it. that white one you kept pointing at was "ready" lol u could pop it

  • BTW push down, DON'T squeeze lol. Squeezing is what makes the dark marks come becasue your skin gets injured/irritated. If you push down you are more likely to get the white stuff to come out but not damage the skin

  • THANKS!!

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

  • My skin is exactly like yours. I have super oily skin & stress makes it so much more worse. I started using Skin Essential Ance Treatment System SEVERE. You can get it at walgreenes for like $15 and it has the scrub, toner, lotion, repair lotion, & renewal complex. It is working great so far. My scars are starting to fade; & my acne is fading away. At first it will make them red but it will fade as your skin starts to get use to the product. I really reccomend this product.

    I <3 your videos :)

  • LOL, I WILL TRY IT!!.. THANKS SO MUCH!

  • Check the contents of the makeup you use...

  • OK!!

  • instead of squeezing them, use a warm compress to help the pimple burst on its own. if you do pop them, it would be probably be best to use a sterile needle. and i agree with the other comments about using the tea tree oil.

  • I have oily/acne prone skin. I have been using Zap It and Glycirin (I think that is the correct spelling) and it have been AMAZING results! Also, I wash my pillow case twice a week.

  • OK THANKS FOR THE TIP!

  • Don't touch...don't burst....try witch hazel...keep your hair out your face..you may be allergic to something like nuts or pnut products or wheat or something.....cut out fried food for a minute...could be chocolate...start on the inside then work your way out...you are beautiful...work your skin- don't let it work you boo!

  • I feel you girl try neutrogena oil free cleanser or differin gel for that u need a prescription.

  • OK THANKS!!

  • There are some birth control, I think yasmin that is lower dose and it is suppose to help improve the skin. Also mint julep mask has been very helpful to me. At first I had to use it twice a week and now I can use only once a week to prevent any new pimples. Also Avon has a great glycolic peel(people have did vids on youtube) and it is great with smoothing your skin and even lightens up acne scars.

  • i used clinque too it is really working for me. i hope your skin will be better soon =)

  • THANK YOU!!

  • Hi girlie, I had the same problem. I don't know if you've watched some of my older vids, but I had breakouts in the same areas and each one was scarring. Lush finally made it stop. I'd really recommend you try the grease lightning and the tea tree water toner. <3 I hope it gets better soon, I know how bad it can make you feel.

  • You can try Biotin, Prenatal Vitamins(don't laugh they work), Vitamin A.

  • Girl! You are so pretty..I don't think you have anything to be pissed about lol...I understand how you feel tho..I get the crazy zit out of nowhere and I get the underskin bumps which HURT! I've never been able to use stuff like Proactive/Murad etc because the crap never works for me..I've learned that my face will only look good when I stick to 1 soap..I ONLY use Lever 2000 on my face and I don't use any acne/face wash and I very rarely break out..Keep that head up girl! You are gorgeous!

  • Hey Dana, I had problems with my skin breaking out bad for almost three months. My skin became very oil and started burning. my blk head became effected too. So I used that good old military network and went to a Dermatologist. He told me that I was having a breakout and my face with producing to much bacteria . So he gave my NeoBenz Micro Wash (benzoyl peroxide 7% and Finacea Gel

  • Only use water based Oil free products the regular oil free products still have oil in them. So chk the box. Maybe you need to visit a Derma. My skin has been doing great now.

  • Your still pretty i dont care what know one say it will clear up im so gonna get some of the product you got b/c i break out when i stress

  • thank you so much!!!

  • I have very oil acne prone skin. I use Clinque 3step acne system, 7 day scrub, super exfoilator, Estee Lauder mask, and dramatically different moisturizer gel. I sometime rotate so my skin doesn't get use to a product and stop working. Try Cetaphil, Queen Helen Mint Julip Masque, egg white mask. start taking vitamin such as ly-sine, multivitamin, or alpha lipoic acid. Olay as a microdermibrasion kit that work well on dark spot. Make you wear sunscreen so the dark don't get any darker.

  • Someone told me about the clinque a while ago, I need to try it!!

  • I stand by Proactive. Nothing has worked as well as that when my a skin get out of control...

  • ok i will!! thanks so much!!

  • Dana, perhaps you should try warm salt and water at night and pure aloe. I know that when I broke out, I stopped using a lot of store bought items and decided to do the natural thing. Aloe in in purest form can be bought at your local market and trust me, luv, it works magnificently. It doesn't smell very good, but when it dries, you cannot smell anything. Hope it helps, luv. GOD bless!

  • Try products from the "Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control Line". Within 2 or 3 days your acne will start to clear up! I have oily skin as well, and this line helped reduce the amount of oil on my face and the marks! Trust me! Hope it works for you! :o)

  • ok thanks so much!!

  • Ms. Dana I know it is hard but try to keep your hands away from your face everytime you touched your face I was over here saying stop Dana!....lol I learned from a marykay consultant that touching your face will cause breakouts. You are still BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!:):):)

  • I have really oily skin also and wake up sometimes with white heads. I started using Neutrogena grapefruit scrub or the one for stress and then I use the stress moisturizer and I have not had many problems at all. Though I'm using Garnier Nutri-Pure®

DAILY EXFOLIATING GEL CLEANSER. works great

  • i love the Garnier Nutri-Pure® DAILY EXFOLIATING GEL CLEANSER makes my skin so cool!! thank so much!!

  • boo that sucks! sorry to hear your skin is trippin out! I have the same problem with pimples leaving dark spot & i HATE it lol! someone told me it leaves the mark because im not hydrated enough..hope that helps a little ! & NOOOO popping pimples !!.. thats the worst! but i LOVE ambi products .. Hope your skin gets better soon .. im sure your body just has to get used to the change!

  • Hey lady, thanks so much for the comment!! I am so depressed, I have a wedding comeing up in about 12 days so I am like going crazy!! I will keep ambi and pick up my water in take!! thanks again hun!! xoxox!

  • Hey girl. Do you think you are using too much on your skin which is causing it to break out? I have super oily skin, but I use the Queen of Helen face mask weekly and I use those exfoliating face scrub to minimize the oil and dirt.

  • i dont use all of that stuff at all the time, it just start using most of it when the break out started!!! I will have to try the mask thing... i never do those!! thanks!!

  • wow Dana uhm I know that if you want to pop the pimple they sell this thing that will pop it for you so you wont get dark spots uhm its in the section where the nail file and tweezers are.....and I would also say that you have a lot of oil in your hair and that oil melts down in your face and neck and if you already have an over production of oil naturally this is just clogging the pores even more. If you dont see an improvement in the next few weeks make an appointment with the dermontologist.

  • dang i put thumbs down by accident!!!! thanks you so much. I am gonna just try not to pop them!! and if i still dont like wats going on, i will go see the dr!!

  • Sorry I ran out of characters lol. But I can send you the link to the video explaining the use of milk of magnesia if your interested.

    Sam

  • thanks!

  • I've had the same problem as you. And I must say the neutrogena oil free acne wash does really work, but I really don't recommend using it twice a day since it leaves your skin really dry, or if you do use it twice a day just use a really good moisturizer afterwards.

Also I know this might sound funny but after you apply your moisturizer and before you apply your makeup, if you apply "milk of magnesia" it helps out to control oil throughout the day I saw this tip in a video and it really helps

  • i will keep the neutrogena, and i am so oily it will be try and about an hour later be oily!! lol!! thanks i have to try some of this!! you are awesome!!

  • i used proactive when i had a bad break out in my chin area. it took like a week or so to start seeing results, but it worked and i no longer use it now, but whatever i was going through stopped and now i'm all better

  • thanks for the advice!!!

  • Hey girl, I'm 44 and my face is full of zits/acne! So I know exactly what you are going through. I feel like I have tried everything. Currently using ProActive and Philosophy acne products. I hate it because I am in a wedding at the end of the month and she wants us to wear our hair back. So I am desperate like you. I will let you know what works and good luck finding a remedy!

  • girl i am in a wedding in 12 days!!!..... do you feel me!! thanks for your advice!!

  • Yaz is good for mild acne. Ambi mosturizer and Aveno face wash has helped me with my dark spots.

  • You're STILL beautiful, Sis!

  • THANK YOU!!!

  • Ms.Dana call your gynecologist tell her to put you on yazmin if its ok, go on yaz until your skin clears up. Then schedule an appt with your derm so y'all can formulate a plan for stopping the pill. Take pictures so the derm can see how your skin is when you stop the pill. Take care and good luck.

  • its me again, yes that ambi even and clear helped clear up some of my black spots but when i ran out the spots got dark again:(

  • DANG!!

  • my skin sucks too now that im pregnant, i dont even want to make videos anymore, ur skin looks better than mine, i use concealer and foundation, i got acne on my NECK of all places, its so depressing, ur skin is fine to me in comparison to mine girl

  • Some of the things that have helped me: 1- drink lots of water throughout the day 2- dont strip your skin from all the oil or "overclean" your skin (your skin will just produce even more oil which means more breakouts) 3- use oil free products if your skin is already oily 4-use a good mask twice a week to get rid of the deep down oil and dirt and last but not least 5-try hard not to pick the bumps.... when u pick them, it can lead to scars and dark marks. Hopefully this helps :-) Good luck!!

  • Hey...

Yeah I have been getting breakouts quite frequently now too...but that Clean and Clear astrg. is not good...try the Body SHop Tea Tree Oil Astr...or toner...it is the best of clearing.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR ADVICE!!

  • Hello MsDanaKay, I am by all means not a dermatologist but I did notice that your morning regime might be a little too harsh on your skin..Also your right side of your face seems to be the worst; is that the side you have your cell phone on when you talk, cells phones carry bacteria..and you should use some form of moisterizing cream.. but def see a dermatologist they can get to the root of the problem..:) Youre Beautiful!! Keep up the great work!!

  • my skin is getting worse as I get older too. I would consider seeing a dermatologist. You said you had to pay for your B/C though but I know Tricare will cover it. If I were you I'd see a dermatologist. If you have tricare tell them you want a chemical peel that your insucure about your skin to get them to cover it. also go to a clinique counter and try their 3 step acne treatment if you haven't. I've slowly noticed your skin getting worse :o(. I hope your skin clears up!

  • try putting the gel on with a q-tip so as you don't over apply a product. the drier your skin becomes the more oil it will produce to over compensate, so spot treat with the gel. also, don't use too many products! i feel you with feeling self conscious. exfoliate once a week with (i use one of the helene mcqueen products), also get a mask and use it maybe 2-3 times a week (again, helene mcqueen). good luck. if all else fails go to a dermatologist and discuss options for adult acne.

  • THANKS SO MUCH FOR YOUR ADVICE!!

  • Ms. DK, I am feeling your pain. All my life I have had clear clear skin and now I'm 31 and my damn face keep breaking the hell out so I feel ur pain. I just purchased the African Soap from coastal scents. It got a lot of reviews for clearing up acne so I will let u know if it works for me. Also I have been narrowing down some of my other products like my makeup trying to see if it's some of that, that is breaking me out. So I will keep u up to date because I am keeping a journal for my face.

  • Hey Dana, I have been using the Neutrogena oil-free wash everyday for a long time and it works great. I have oily skin too, so this product really helps keep my pores from clogging. whenever I stop using it, I start to see the acne come back. So, definitely give it a try and see what it does for you. Good luck!

  • You should use some type of facial scrub. Im sorry you having a hard time with your skin.. toothpaste too..

  • Go to see a dermatologist! I did, and she gave me a pill (medicine) and a creme. Cant remember either name (sorry!). But check with a dermatologist, they should be able to help you. Trust me I know what you are going through!
