Dear From The Sidelines,Herb Rawlinson and Tom Fadden and Dabbs Greer have uncredited roles in this episode..Herb plays"Rozan"the leader of "Krypton's"governing council,Tom plays"Eben Kent".."Clark Kent's"earth born foster father and Dabbs is the mechcanic..who is hanging from the wayward blimp.
I didn't have to spend a lot of time on Wikipedia or tv.com, 'IHS7', to know about this episode, or the series. I first saw this in the mid-'60s, when I was about eight years old. Lots of reading and research as well; "Superman and the Mole Men", even though it was produced in the summer of 1951, and released theatrically later that year, was essentially a "pilot" for the TV series. After production on the film ended, the first 24 TV episodes were produced (not seen until the 1952-'53 season).
It should also be noted that the narrator was the late Jack Narz, in an uncredited role. Mr. Narz also served as the uncredited narrator for "The Mole Men."
@IHS7 ~ thanks, i found the sequence. "superman and the mole men" was a 48 min. feature film in 1951 with george reeves and phyllis coates, the same two then started this t.v. series in '51, but wasn't aired until 1952. (thru 1958) noel neill took over for coates as lois lane in year 2.
there were two other earlier movies in 1948 and 1950 with a different superman, kirk alyn. they were both 15 episode shorts (about 20 minutes) played in continuum every week in theatres. neill was lois.
That's Robert Rockwell and Aline Towne as "Kal-El"'s parents. He wasn't credited in the actual episode, probably because he began appearing as "Philip Boynton" on "OUR MISS BROOKS" the same season "THE ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN" first appeared- both were sponsored by rival cereal companies {"Superman", Kellogg's/"Our Miss Brooks", General Foods [Post]}, and there would have been a sponsor conflict HAD Rockwell been given screen credit.
So... The Kryptonian council was Republican controlled?
