  • try the Ibanez SRX 700 very very nice! ...competes with basses cost three times as much..

  • you are playing this through a fender rumble? pppssssshhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

  • Love the sound and appearance of it, what amp are you using?

  • Umm. Try playing it like a bass?

  • opening riff sounded like Eyehategod - Depress.... nice!

  • should've had owen o'malley do this....

  • this is my go to bass i absolutely love it one of the best sounding basses ive ever played but i want to get an ibanez sr 4000

  • yang kau guna pick tu kenapa bodoh!!!!! bapa mu kau!!

    guna la jari bodoh!!!

  • these basses are sooo groovy. im pickin one up tomorrow.

  • @bobbygeisler Tell me what u think about the bass

  • @divinesalvia sounds so awesome dude. this is my first ibanez, and what i really like is the body. the shape of it allows you to wrap your thumb around the top and thump along with your fingers, but I normally use a pick so that doesn't matter as much, but the curve on the bottom near the neck is my favorite because you can very easily get to the high notes without ANY body getting in the way, which is nice because there's two extra frets compared to my old bass. Overall, I'm satisfied.

  • @bobbygeisler yeah...i was supposed to buy me a SR700 but i came over a SR900 with neckthrough at a web shop.Actually it was the last sr900 in Norway.one of the best Basses i have played on(and own),and a sound that words cant explain..

  • Transposing two octaves? The bass is tuned only one octave below guitar.

  • @WoWintosh he means 4 strings instead a 6

  • This one is old sr700.

  • that intro music is trippy as fuck

  • You look a bit like Jesus x)

  • i have had this bass for about 3 years know and the amount of lows and highs you can get out of this thing is amazing i have been able to every sound i have ever wanted from and the amazing treble of a classic p bass to the unbelievable lows of an ernie ball music man and everything in between it has a lot of warmth but it can bite when you need it to

  • I just got an SR700 last week. I love it.

  • not much focus on the type of amp but the bass sounds good!

  • Awesome. Thanks for the video. I'm thinking of getting this.

  • The sound just makes my body shiver. i love it!

  • lol its the same as the sr600 but with a mahagony body

  • do you never use the kontra-bass finger position?? :O

  • i knew that jesus plays bass!

  • Forreal, first off... the guy has no groove. I mean, what's a bass for???

I've heard great pick players, but this guy just makes the bass sound scared.

The amp must be horrible for that bass. I expected waaay more power. I understand it's a video, but still. And the little "scales" he's using are sooo limited.

Bottom line, sounds and looks boring and harmless... In a musical sense that is.

  • Nothing wrong with a pick, but I'd rather have a bassist review this bass, as opposed to a Guitarist, No offense.

  • Dude, I am generally a nice and kind person, but this review is lousy.

  • I have one of these basses myself, its probably one of the most comfortable basses ive tried. only problem is that i can never find a tone i find comfortable :l.. probably just my lame ass amp bwaha

  • lol a pick really? nice buzzing... not the bass its the bassist if u would call him that

  • I think a Bass review should always have fingerplay and picking.

It sounds completely different and I play with fingers most of the time so I want to know how the Bass sounds like when he´s played with fingers.

    But I love this Bass!

  • mal gibi çalmışsın :))))

  • God gave You fingers to play the bass! Throw away that fuckin' pick!

  • iot really all depends on what sound you want......for rock: pick......jazz: finger.....funk: finger...and then slap for the rhcp and the stanley stuff....

  • I really did like playing this, and there's a used one at my shop for $550. I'm tempted to get it...

  • I just got done using this bass at a music store and it sounded very good. Never think so from what i just heard

  • Use picks is good way to play bass , but this is review

You should play both finger and pick

    anyway good sound , vid

  • Ok. You can do some things with a pick that you cant do with fingers. You can do some things with fingers that you cant do with picks.

I like the sound of both.

  • no pick please. BASS IS AWESOME!

  • pick for guitar. not for bass.....geez

  • bass can be played however the individual player deems fit. grow up you ignorant turd

  • @Smoothbassistthatsme It can shame to hear good basses played with a pick. To each their own and all, but you lose so much with a pick. To name a few issues of using picks:

    1) Loss of good dynamics

    2) Loss of tonal variety

    3) Difficult to arpeggiate

    4) Few ways to stop sound or dampen sympathetic vibration

I understand that it can be difficult to learn, but a truly independent right hand (or left if you are a lefty) is way, way worth it.

  • @emilkrasich I had learned with my fingers, and picking just comes naturally as it does to a lot of people, and I agree, you lose much with a pick.

  • @Smoothbassistthatsme It'a review for the public, not a band/personal bass player demo, when you do a job you do it for a certain client not for yourself. You grow up ;)

  • Loose the pick goddammit XD!

  • @Oswah Hey man, although most people think that bass shouldnt be played with a pick, its a perfectly acceptable way to play. Ive been playing bass for about 3 years, i can do fingerstyle, slapstyle, and pickstyle. Using a pick isnt wrong, its just a good way to give your bass a different kind of tone which is more "sharp". pickstyle bass is often used in metal and hard rock so the bass is more forward in the mix. so pickstyle isnt wrong, its all about tonal preferences. I hope that helps!

  • @Oswah Oh and if it matters, i play a Fender American Standard Jazz Bass. Sounds great with fingerstyle, and with a pick. its all about the tone bro!

  • annd SOUNDS GREAT

  • looks really niceee (Y)

  • No one wants to hear how this bass sounds with a pick

  • @saraband0 Not too much to be honest. Just more warmer since the SR700 has a maple top and the SR500 is just the pure body wood tone.

  • I agree. I wouldn't buy a bass without a quilted maple top on it. It makes a big difference in the sound.

  • Grrr.. I wish he'd try it fingered!

  • @Lukeh47 I fingered your ma!

  • @Lukeh47It pisses me off when people post demo's showing all slap or picked :/.

  • word

  • please i need some advice wich is better an sr 700 or an sr 750 the 750 has a wallnut top i dont really think it makes a big difference but could anyone pls tell me your opinion thanks

  • i have a sr750...its sick

  • I don't think the sound is much changed, or the weight probably, but I prefer the look of the walnut to the 700, especially the yellow one, but the red one isn't bad. Have you checked out the 780? It's a bit weird, but you get used to it and when you do it's pretty cool. Unfortunately I have only tried the bass this guy has in a store once and only for like 30 seconds so I still don't know much about it.

  • play dont talk

  • i have the same bass in the same finish and its the best bass ive owned so far. i have owned an american precision bass, american jazz bass, musicman stingray, and various yamahas, this bass by far is more versatile and way more comfortable to play. this demo doesnt do it justice but the ibanez sr700 is da shiznit

  • any ibanez bass is "da shiznit". i've played on the gsr190 and on sr 750 and they're both freakin awesome cool whatafuck i mean the coolest damn. my advice for some one who wants to buy a bass is buy an ibanez. it fits any style and the sound is so customyzeble.

  • I wonder which is better?Ibanez sr700 or sr800?

    which do you prefer?

  • ima buying one of these soon :)

  • he scrapes the pick too much . . .

  • thats a lonnnnnnnnnnng neck.hhaha

  • naw, he's just short.

  • one what kind of pot do u smoke second what the hells a bass......jk

  • bass is only an octave down from guitar.

  • What strings are those? Factory?

  • hey man... how do you do that sound? is the amp? or is the bass eq? or do u have a pedal?

  • Ibanez SR700, number one bass among pick-players who have been living in the wilderness for several years.

  • gold!

  • Rule #1...Bass players review basses, period, end of story. The pick only review is completely limited. Not that pick playing isn't valid, but so is finger style! Geeze! Also, it's not a Bubinga neck, it's a Jotoba neck with Bubinga stringers. I own this bass. It's a great instrument for the price point.

  • +1000000000000

  • dont forget slaping, but i agree

  • lol, he reminds me of the guy from knocked up. the high one with the beard

  • lol, there all high, lol

  • u sound like randall from clerks haha!

  • i have this bass :D this bass is the fucking shit!

  • Sweeeet man..Pick it up until all hell brakes loose!!!

  • is that tom green?

  • This guy should ... leave. I wanna hear a bass player play this beauty. Slap it, pluck it, finger it, tap it just DROP THE PICK YOU PRICK! So much unused potential... this is a great bass don't mind this guy's playing he's a dork!

  • There are so many video for the maniac slappers :P There are so many good song without slap tap etc..

  • dude there nothing wrong with a pick i play bass and normally use my finger i can slap and tap to pick just give a dif tone

  • @tinyjewness My personal idol was a pick player actually, Marcel Jacob. The thing here, is that I don't think the reviewer is holding the pick in the right way, his holding it diagonally toward the string and that gives a raspy dirty and noisy sound. His fretting isn't too good also, thats why notes are not clear and have some buzz. You can play as you want of course, but when it comes to a review, the instrument MUST BE PLAYED in the academic way, to hear the inst. more than the player.

  • @tinyjewness <3

  • Who is this guy.

    lmao

  • damn how many frets does that monster have

  • its 24 frets

  • but the body is pretty small and the guy isn't that big either so it looks longer than it is!

  • wtf?! its an awesome looking bass!

  • I had a Soundgear Prestige 4-String and i didn`t like it at all.

Too hifi sounding and it didn`t cut through the mix.

IMO even a descent Cort beats it soundwise.

As for the first bass, i would go with a Fender, Music Man, Spector, Warwick, Cort or Yamaha BB series (not the RBs).

All this basses have a trademark sound and slap like gods, if you`re into slapping.

  • DAN AGOSTO'S BROTHER

  • Ding ding ding.

  • Holy, d'ont make reviews when you can't play.

  • Thanks for the review, very informative but with respect very limited - specifically to the distinctive sound of pick playing. Fingerstyle sounds vastly different over the typical tonal range than a pick, but none of that is touched.

  • Hi!

I'm going to buy myself a new bass. thinking about this bass, but i am thinking about the SR705 bass. the same bass only 5-string. What do you think about that bass?

  • hey i got SR-706..nice bass..you wont regret...buy 4 string if its your first bass

  • Okay =D. thx alot, but actually its my 2. bass. had a squire P-bass. pretty tired of it now. i have had that on in like 4 years now -.-' so i cant wait till i my IBANEZ SR-705 =D

  • Get a 5 string man. The more music you discover, the more you see 5 string basses are more common. Well, in metal at least

  • I allready heave purchased the Ibanez SR-705 5-string. its great. i totally agree with you

  • Thats awesome, im actually gonna be buying a spector 5-6 string, probably just a 5.

  • Looks like a great bass. If you play metal or use the lowest tones most you wont need a 6 string, but it might be cool at playing other things.

  • yea, i just want to improvise

plus, just think of the tonal variation :D

  • beautiful bass, that would be nice color for the sr706, but the himalayan black is awesome as well

  • shweet
