I saw the movie on the big screen. Awesome. Leonard loved it. Those folks covering his songs are his closest friends and/or admirers. These are not simply "covers."

This version comes from a tribute DVD featuring a retrospective of Cohen's work, and features amazing younger performers, Rufus and Martha Wainwright, Anthony, Teddy Thompson, Jarvis Cocker, Nick Cave. It is a magnificent DVD, and closes with Bono, Edge and Cohen doing Tower of Song. Get it now, I can't praise the performances enough. And the tribute to Leonard is most timely, after all, he is 75.

In the DVD it is clear that Nick, a talented artist in his own right, is honoured to be singing one of Leonards songs, and of course the whole DVD 'I'm your man' after all is a tribute to the man himself.
