This gentleman has more skill in his Right big toe than I have with both hands! You mentioned this video when you demonstrated to the Tudor Rose Woodturners and it has taken me all this time to visit! Thanks for filming and posting something which should be a stimulus to all with an interest in woodturning. Regards Peter.

Hello pdmaroc, I am not sure whether your comments are positive or negative, positive I hope. You will see by the feed back that most people admire the amazing skill of the craftsman and my videos are a celebration of craftsmanship and personal endeavour. I admire hand skills, without which we would not have beautiful buildings, works of art or useful everyday artefacts that make life more tolerable and enjoyable.
@cesking actually the guy thinks that the comments are nice because the westerners hate us so much they don't want us to become sophisticated and get rid of these old practices, he means all handicrafts, then he ended up insulting the monarchy and calling for true revolution. Definitely our Moroccan commentator is f*** up in the head
Thanks so much for shooting this the way you did. It's inspiring to see the finesse with which he uses his toes and to get a good look at the mechanism. Questions that I'm sure have been asked are how long has he been doing this, and what kind of wood was he using?
Thanks for sharing this. I count my blessings. Realize how much I have to appreciate my tools and machines. Yet, with all my expensive tools I have not seen some trick he is doing, like the ring on the wood. I learned a lot from this video.
Hey bro ! if you still wanna buy his pieces let me know, I can help you, I live in Agadir, Marrakech is just a couple hours of car from my home, I go there all the time.
and the guy's name is not Mostopher but Mustapha just like me .
Not sure why but something about this video is weirdly relaxing and entrancing. The mix of the sounds in the back ground and the sound of the lathe. Watching it slowly come together.
Very cool video.I have a pawn that he made me years ago,he drilled a hole into the top and put a string through so I could wear it around my neck. The guy totally blew me away!
I'm not a woodturner, but this video is great and the display of skill is mesmerising. Thanksss for a great share! ( Found this via 9gag.com/gag/417542 )
We're talking about a people whose technology consists of wood, string, and a sharp metal stick. Now, I want to make something perfectly clear, they are as smart as we are today, but with the technologies of the time they cannot possibly have made such amazing chess pieces.
@FaKeShAdOw I don't know if you saw how his lathe works, but my whole body would have to be spinning around. Based on my size and his equipment, i don't think he would be able to. Also, beauty is subjective, just because I don't like the way it looks doesn't make me wrong.
somewhere, someone is sitting in an office at a computer watching this instead of doing what he should, while getting more money for it than this man gets from carving like this
Just got in from a Medievel Market in Antequera whereI witnessed a man using the same tool. I bought a few items as I was amazed by the skill involved. He made some fine pieces all identical in shape and size without measuring or comparing them. Such skill, I am in awe of this craftmanship

It appears that the simpler the tool the more skill one needs to use it well - and the more its versatility is manifested ^^
Such a high degree of craftsmanship without power tools... AMAZING!
