@sehlinger2003 the sega 32x was made and had many good games to it. It even had doom (it sucked). Knuckles chaotix was let out. Search it on youtube.(here)

Was there a story reason for why they all were holding rings with weird energy  tether, or did they just never bother?

also were the levels any good at actually making you utilize the tether in any unique ways, in this or chaotix?

Sonic Crackers was a game that was never completed and was turned into Knuckles Chaotix. It was on a system that never came out, The Sega 32X. But, people play Knuckles Chaotix on a ROM.

Do you know what "crackers" are? They are these two metal balls connected by a cord or something, from early last century or so. There was a chapter of JJBA entitled "JoJo Crackers" where the character Joseph Joestar uses some as a weapon, I'll have you know.

Yes it was GOING to be! not that it was but plans changed thanks to the devolpment of the 32 X. sonic 3 came out in 1993 but the finished product what WAS knuckles chaotix came out 1994-5 in japan.

p.s it never said it was sonic 3 it was Going to be but they up it on hold ( the idea was, not the the prototype ) its the same with the 3DS and 3d gaming its been an idea at nintendo for since the 90s its an idea but change by time. guess u guys are so hard to make understand. probably wanted something different. there is a hack though that changes mighty to sonic. it wasnt too hard because all they did was flatten the spikes and changed the colors to make mighty. they kept the same sprites as this sonic
