  • Very interesting as usual, Peter... I've been away from your channel for far too long!

  • What? You found it interesting?

Are you by any chance also OVER 9000 years old?

  • I'm not quite as old as Peter, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying his videos... I'm about to turn 4500 in a couple of weeks :)

  • how sad the world we live in you can't share your son with us because of the immaturity of some people. You sound like a wonderful dad to him!!

  • happy new year peter.

may you have many more too.

    keep up the good work

  • This guy is awesome. Happy NewYear geriatric1927

  • Your so cool! I admire you

  • He didn't have to sign up for them! He was reluctant to go and fight in WWII! And anyway, you could have just politely corrected me instead of trying to make me look like a fool!

  • It is heartbreaking to hear what David has to endure from children who know no better, but I realize that David is very fortunate to have someone as caring and loving as you, Peter. Many people are not so lucky.

    Bless you.

  • I understand where Peter is coming from, all too well. That gauntlet. The more I listen to Peter's videos, the more impressed I am. God bless ~ (and LOVE the blues)

  • i was the 400 Thanks for rating dood

  • Thanks Peter for telling us about your disabled foster son, David.

'btlim5163' is obviously agreeing with Peter's decision not to show us David, as he might be ridiculed, so I think it unfair for his/her comment to have 34 thumbs down.

  • I agree. thumbs down not warranted.

  • your so cool

  • nice vids

  • May I adopt you as my Granda? I'm going through lots of difficult changes in my life and don't have any family to offer words of wisdom. It's tough. Thanks for your time on here.

  • I look so forward to all your words of wisdom and comforting heart chats. Your words always bring a smile into my day and refreshment to my soul. Thanks for sharing John Hurt's song...just loved it. I hope to find a copy somewhere. Peace and Blessings to you!

  • I am fairly new to YouTube. I am fortunate that I "bumped" into your videos. You seem to be a very distinguished and well spoken person. I look forward to viewing more of your projects.

  • Dear Geriatric

love the missippi music, and your foster son story. Thanks for sharing and for doing good in the world.

  • I love the blues also thanks for letting us hear Mississippi John Hurt I had never heard him before but I really enjoyed that song.

  • good on you old timer. good to see the older generation into the new millenium. well done! keep it up!

  • I am so happy you are still commenting. I had looked for you and couldn't find much after the Zimmers...keep doing what you do.

  • Sorry, meant- 'wise, insightful, and relevent, as usual.'

    (can't edit yet)...

    More Please.

  • Sir Peter, wise, insightful, and relevent usual.

"Well done Sir". I hope to be some day, more like you.

  • paul1967uk posted parts of the broadcast by sky news which included Geriatric1927

the video is kinda rough but it gives you an idea of the story and you can hear G1927's comments which were cool...

  • It is a wonderful thing to drink a cup of tea and to sit across from you when I'm in front of the screen here. Glad you had a busy and happy birthday week. I so appreciate your thoughtful communications to us all. Take care. --E. in California.

  • Glad you enjoyed your visit from your son. It must have been a great pleasure for both of you. I think you did the right thing in not showing the video of you both because, there are so many MORONS amongst us normal human beings, that makes it impossible to act as we all would like without their stupid unecessary remarks, that are meant to hurt as much as possible. Glad to see your back again. Cheerio, Denis.

  • I honor your decision not to post David's video. I only wish it were safer to post beautiful and personal moments. Love to you both

  • David needs to carry on your legacy Peter.

Think about it, get him involved.

    Be safe.

  • You are a good man Peter... I have worked with people with learning disabilities since I was 10... it is so wonderful to hear about David and the home you have given him. Keep up the excellent youtube videos! God bless you!

  • i love you and all your great stories =] <333

  • wow this guy is rly nice! i think everyone likes this guy! no one on youtube can make a bad comment about him!

  • grandad grandad lovely grandad thats what we all think of you

  • great video Peter! it is true that unfortunatley there are people out here who feel that hiding behind a computer they can be as abusive as they want, happy birthday for last week aswell! great song too :) Mim xx

  • Bless, you're a lovely man. I find your videos so inspiring! A model citizen of the UK, - keep up the fantastic videos!

    K. in Wales.

  • Sadly I don't get to see all your videos, but I appreciate it every time. Please keep up your very important and good work. I wish you all the best. Peter, Norway.

  • Always nice to hear from you! :D Keep it up!

  • > you have become too commercialized.

I don't think so. He surely COULD have become so if he WANTED it. But believe me, an 80 year old mate with such a nice house (have you seen the ample land around his house?), an SLK, has been working all his life, is definitely not dependend on money from e.g. companies.

IF he would have become "too commercialized", there would be some advertising banners in the background, and an additional 3,000 or 4,000 pounds per month on his bank account. :)

  • I would love to see the video with David! You could disallow comments no the video to curtail haters.

  • great track!!

in a way, i think you should put up the video of david, because the encourgaement he'll, im sure, recieve from viewers will, im also sure, outway the negative responses from simple idiots. and also, there maybe a chance that those simple idiots may learn something about empathy and understanding people...in time...

censorship is normally bad because it doesnt give people the choice to think..

    big love...cheers man

  • @rayzmadman:

You may right, but I think that protection is much more important than trying (!) to teach a lesson to some of those idiots. Teaching respect is not up to Peter or his son David. Teaching respect is up to their parents. What if David has to pay for it one day somehow or other? There are many nasty haters out there, so this could come to a bad end!

  • i hate people who abuse serious videos, i mean it really is harsh and pointless

  • Why are people down voting positive comments on this video? Does someone have a grudge?

I think you are right not to put videos of David up. If people can be so nasty to you just for being old and online, imagine what they'd say about him? Some people get off on making those sorts of comments, especially on the internet, where they are relatively anonymous. The both of you take care of each other, it seems!

  • We all should be thankful EVERY DAY that we are in health. Everyone can become handicapped or can even die in EVERY SINGLE SECOND of his life. Health is not an achievement, it's a gift. The most valuable gift.

Most people understand that. Some don't.

I'm so sorry for David that there are bad, stupid people who maltreat him. But I'm glad to know he has got you and your both bodily children and therefore a caring family.

  • You were right not to post the video. Sick people would have just abused it. You should get david to a more safer place away from all the idiots who have no idea how hard life is for him. I watched that sky news report and thought you did a good job. God bless you and david. Good song at the end by the way

  • Hi Peter,

    Nice vid as always,

    Best Regards,

    Drew

  • I have to say for sure one of the most good hearted people I have ever stopped to listen in my life. I wish we had more of our elders that took the time to explain life like you.

    Jimmy

  • I just read that it is possible to propose every British citizen for accolade (knighting). Propositions have to be made to the Prime Minister's Bureau.

What if we, all his supporters, would do that...? :-) Of course, we should ask Peter first (in order to not do something he does not want).

    What do you think?

  • Peter's audience are the world's best citizens. Are we all eligible to nominate Peter

  • David has been very fortunate to be fostered by your family. It is a pity you couldn't post his video, but I think you were right not to. It certainly made a thought-provoking topic for your video. Thanks for sharing.

  • Peter my hubby subscribes to your channel and so i listen to you when he does. I just wanted to say, i really enjoy watching your videos and your voice reminds me of someone off the telly a while back used to do a program called "Out of town", dont know if you remember it. Keep up the videos there great.

  • You should be Knighted! I'm proud to be English as long as there's English like you around :]

  • Knighting Peter is a nice idea! But my thoughts on that are the following:

1.) He's already knighted, in a much more modern and much more democratic way than this old-fashioned knighting which the Queen is doing: He's knighted by us, the huge flock of his supporters here in the internet.

2.) I'm quite sure Peter is so humble that it is not very important to him whether he's officially knighted or not.

For, me, Peter indeed is "Sir Peter" ever since I've watched his first videos.

  • Well, whatever way he's knighted in I still think we should inform someone of higher power than us e.g. Queen/Prime Minister ;] We should ask Peter his thoughts...

  • Definitely the world would be a better place if there were more lovely people like you. And, about the children who do nasty things to people... humm, I think parents nowadays are not putting limits enough to their kids. Lack of limits is a sad contemporary issue. Some parents seem to act as if only the school education was enough to bring up children.

  • Yeah. It's sad that kind and innocent people are targeted by pathetic and ignorant scum who enjoy hurting others for amusement. Grinds my gears more than anything.

  • You Be one Mega Awesome Dude.

  • Peter, you're such a sympathetic, wise, charismatic and cool man!

I always enjoy your videos a lot. I deeply admire you.

Your story about the kids shouting and throwing stones at your handicapped stepson made me sad.

There are so many bad and stupid people out there... So your decision not to upload his vid is wise and correct - imagine all the stupid haters all around. Unfortunately, that's the world we live in. Sad, but true.

Best wishes and kind regards from Germany!

  • yes i wish he was my grand dad too. :)

  • ditto

  • Dito!

  • I enjoyed it very much. Thanks!

  • always the best...

  • That's mean. I've subscribed, but haven't had much time lately to watch, and I'm sure others are in the same boat -- how is that cheating?

  • well, every other top subscribed person gets at least that number of views.

  • Thanks for the great video!! Glad you had a good time with your son :o)

  • nice video you the best!

  • Sir, if you tried Skippy peanut butter, I am sure you would be quite pleased with the taste.

  • Thanks for again sharing your experiences with us. Happy Birthday to you!!

  • He was about 50 at the time and he's english, so he couldn't have really.

  • Thank you for sharing your experiences with us. Honestly, through all these videos i have to admit that you Sir have earned my sincere respect and affection, it's really nice to have you around. Best wishes, greetings from Venezuela.

  • You, sir, are a gentleman in every sense of the word. All the best to you.

  • You are a very cool old guy.

    :)

  • What does your children think of your fame on youtube?

    BTW nice vlog

  • You're an amazing man, Peter, and it's good to see you again. I hope all is well. :)

  • There will always be some people who think that it's funny to mistreat persons, just because they don't fit in their image of an respectable human being (1933-1945). It's a matter of fact, and we have to deal with it. Sad but true.

I like your videos very much! Greetings from Germany!

  • thx

  • Awesome video as always.Really liked the song at the end.

  • Hey Peter, nice glimpse of being close to a handicapped person. I wonder if he likes your imitations of him. (I also wonder what he does for a living.)

By the way, Happy Birthday! It was good to hear you had such a wonderful birthday in your previous video.

  • Since we are the same age, you can't possibly be old. I like your description of your foster child;he's a lucky man. Tell him you're not as old as the number of years would suggest.

  • Excellent video, as always, Peter. And loved the music at the end.

  • Thank you Peter for sharing

    Regards to David.

    Maria, Ireland

  • Another interesting video peter. i dont think you'll pass away for awhile yet! Looking forward to next video (as always).

  • Great song! He must have been a great influence on J.J. Cale.

I'm a long time blues fan myself. I grew up listening to John Lee Hooker.

    Great video as always btw.

  • dont die, peter!!

  • Young children can be shockingly cruel at times.

It's a shame that you can't put the video up, but I can imagine his delight in making a video just by your description. It was a wondeful thing that you did ^_^ Thanks for the music!

  • I am so happy to have you here. Your a Great man peter. God bless you in every way.

  • NICE VIDEO PETER

  • Hi peter

  • Peter is awesome

  • I'm so angered to hear that David has such thoughtless, mean children in his path to work. Would it maybe be possible for someone to walk with him? Those children just might regret their actions one day, but he should be spared there meanness!

Good to see you, Peter. Keep smiling!

  • I wish u was my Grandad Your Soo Kool I mean it (Y) Happy Birth Dat By The Way

  • Welcome back granddad! :)

  • What a really nice man you are.

  • if people cant behave themselves in a sivalised fashon then they dont deserve to have children themselves,i too know hardships and i know the affect it can have on people, and i commend your son for teaching them that it is a wrong thing to do!

you and your family are truly fascinating! It is good to hear your stories, experiance and advice, and it is certainly greatly apreciated!

    hope all is well :)

    rob

  • like your begining clips is cool liked the story ov what u did for that boy in your family i was fostered for a bit then stayed with friends ever since i was 15 im 23 now love the song on the end really felt it take care and respect to u and what you have done for others

  • Aloha Peter, Thanks for sharing your week. It is too bad that YT has so many people with the mindsets of those 10 & 11 years olds who harass David. Thanks too for the music. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be looking on the internet for more Mississippi John Hurt. Aloha :)

  • hi peter :] how r u

  • Pleasure as always mate! Really enjoyed the vid...

  • Welcome back Peter! I missed you. You look too pooped to pop. (Tired) I wonder if David is concerned about what will become of him when you die. Maybe he's worried who will love him. And who Could give him as much love as You. You have the most gentle, kind and loving nature there could ever be. Rest up.Love to you, dorothy

  • you inspire me :)

  • Granddad, you made me cry. When you told what children do to David when he goes to work, i couldn't stop the tears. I have a genetical disease myself and i have experienced that cruelty in my childhood. Anyway, you made the right decision, trust me. Take care.

  • how old is his son!?

  • You are such a wonder man! I love hearing your stories. Your voice is so calming. You are amazing! Thank you for sharing yourself with all of us!

  • I'm sorry we didn't get to know David but I think you made the right decision by keeping it private. He is a very blessed to have you in his life.

  • xoxooxoxoxoxo

  • I am an avid viewer. I rarely comment because quite frankly I am busy. I'm a newly crowned Doctor. I am doing my residency (speacialty) in Pediatric Oncology and Emergency Pediatric Surgery. My normal work weeks are 80 or more hours. I just wanted to tell you how much I admire your bravery, compassion and nobility in fostering a special needs child. For it is truly a noble, compassionate and brave thing to do.

  • Peter your fuckin awesome man! take care :)

  • Peter is David mentally disabled or just physically disabled and cannot speak because he is deaf? I found it difficult enough just taking care of the behaviour problems of a relatives child very briefly, so I totally admire anyone who takes in disabled children, esp when are not theirs. I hope David is well and happy.

  • Very Good Video:) I love the Music .. Hope to see more of your Great videos

  • Hugs Peter! We don't need to see David's video as I'm sure the cruelty that would follow would be too nasty. Seeing your face as you talk about David and hearing you talk about him and your relationship with him is more than enough! It's wonderful to see you as a very loving and protective father and I agree and applaud your decision!! As always, Granddad, I look forward to your next video!

  • totally agreee

  • It's a shame that there are such twisted people out there with nothing but hate in their hearts and ignorance in what passes for brains. Thank you Peter for sharing this last week with us.

  • Peter, your decision not to put that video up was correct. However, it was very interesting to hear that story, so I'm glad you told us all about it.

  • hello Peter im a new subsriber to youre channel and i have to say i have a great amount of respect for you. I thought that was very admirable of you to take in david. I have some family that have adopted 3 children recently. They are a true blessing from God. May God continue to bless you my friend. By the way im a blues fan also.

  • Happy Late Birthday!

  • Thank you for sharing this with us Peter. You continue to show your 'audience' what a thoughtful and caring person you are.

  • Hey I enjoy "The Blues" myself. My favorite performer is "Howlng Wolf".

  • another great video, they are always very meaningful. and i agree it wouldnt have been too wise to post up that video of david.

  • Hi, Peter. You are a very caring dad and granddad. Your family is lucky to have you, which I'm sure they know!

If you are ever in the states, Gettysburg, PA, USA has a great biker weekend with more motorcycles than you can imagine.

    Take care! :)

  • Peter, may i make a suggestion to what to do about uploading the video of your adopted son. Make it available to your friends only, atleast i think that is possible i'm not sure myself because i'm new to this. Your are right he would be an easy target otherwise because there are some nasty people out there. I noticed you had your birthday recently so happy birthday! My birthday's comming up in a few days... i'll be 21... i feel old now.

  • Thanks for a great video! I always get worried when there has been more time than usual between your videos.

I agree with your decision not to post your video of you and your son. Not only would the resulting comments hurt you and your son, but they would be disturbing to the rest of us who are clueless about why people even bother taking the time to type in negative and sick comments. If you were not so widely viewed, I might think differently.

    Have a great week!

  • Hi PEter, good to see you again. I think you were right to keep the video private. people can be so wonderfully caring, but as you said they can also be so hurtful and cruel also, and largely for no reason. Those people who do hateful things, are filled with hate. Those that do loving things, are filled with love. its quite simple reaslly ;)

  • Thank you for another great story. You are appreciated. mc

  • Happy Birthday Week Peter. I like the motorbike start and the blues. You are so caring and you are an Olympic talker gold medalist or something like that. You cant say nobody cares for you ;)

  • Peter, it's so sad that there are "haters", not only here on YT but in the World as a whole.

I am so happy that you have a loving Son, and David is fortunate to have such a supporting and loving Father.

I enjoyed watching this video very much and once again found it to be insightfull.

    Thankyou for sharing.

  • I'm glad you had a good time with your son, Peter. I enjoyed the video!

  • What a sad reflection on our society that Peter cannot put up a video of his disabled foster son................thanks for drawing our attention to it, Peter.

  • Great Video Pete,

Its wonderful to know how caring

you are! Great video, and cool stories!

    Yours Truly, Kinny & Bonnie

  • Peter,

I respectfully would like to disagree on your not putting up a short video with your second son, David I believe, for fear of the haters. I would really like to see him as well as the both of you getting on. The lady who lives beside us is in charge of the "exceptional" students here in the greater Tampa area and always hear stories from her.

  • OK I stuck this one out to the end and am glad I did as there was Karl Daley, the best part of this vlog. sorry!

  • Hey, thanks for posting another video. Interesting about your son, good idea not to post on here.

  • Peter, you were abolutely right to not put the video of David up.

  • see my last comment...........

  • Peter, the fact is, as you know, fear is always what creates anger, and the hardness in people and causes them to lash out. Those that make their fun at the expense of others need our prayers, and blessings as they don't know any better. I am SO glad you enjoyed such a wonderful week with your boys, and again, Happy Birthday.

  • Nice work peter

  • We love you :)

  • Thanks... Still not sure what those thumbs down things do but now I see mine says -3 what the heck?

  • i think it is to weed out the realy bad comments or to see who they are... i think your commment did NOT deserve to get 8 votes. please, comment because we do care.

  • nice.

  • Nobody cares for me ?? not true matey we love ya to bits !! David is very lucky to have such a wonderful person who cares about him like you do, and for what it's worth I think you made the right decision re the video, all too easy a target and that's a great shame

  • looking great gramps! stay healthy =)

  • Beautiful music! But we do all care for you!

  • Yay! Another Peter vlog. Your production quality is very good.

  • Great video, I think that it was a kind thing to foster the boy; I'm sure it means the world to him.

  • Good to see you had a great week with your son.

  • Another great v-log Peter :)

  • I was pretty sharp-tongued and cruel as a teenager, but I regret it now that I've grown up. People being abusive to each other is probably the thing that angers me most. I can't stand it. Prayers headed david's way (and yours of course). great vid as usual

  • good work grandpa!

  • Inspirational, as always.

  • people in David's situation need people like you and your family to be the filter from cruelty and it reminds us that there is support and love out there. great vid.
