Hey man i am looking to get a Ducati soon but i dont know if i should go with a 848 or a 1098 becasue of my weight and height i am 6 foot 1 inches and my weight is 210 pounds any in put man i have never tried out a ducati so i dont know if my weight would make an impact on a 848 thats why i am thinking about getting a 1098 i want a older model

@speeder741 dude weight and height has nothing to do with a bike you purchase....the only thing you should be considering is the power and if you can handle it. If your excuse for getting a 1000cc(especially a Duc) which has even more torque.

Hey guys, I used to hate Ducatis,but have found a love and respect for them. What is the secret behind these bikes. They are not very powerful compared to inline 4's and they aren't fast from a dig, but at highspeeds they seem to catch and pass far more powerful bikes. Is it the design is ment to be the ultimate bike in the Splitscreen,using another bikes speed to pull it alone? I know they are beast in the corners though. I'm die hard Kawasaki but I like these bikes though!

Can anybody explain to me, why is there so big difference in sound betwen 848 and r6 for example?

The R6 is a inline 4 (4 cylinders in a line) so 150cc'c per cylinder.

The 848 is an L-Twin (2 cylinders 90' ) bike so has 424cc's per cylinder.

This means there is a larger explosion per cylinder of the bike, since the R6 has twice as many cylinders its effective sound frequency will be higher, also the it has a higher redline than the 848 and generally needs higher revs to get its power so the sound frequency will be higher.

It comes down to cylinder capacity and configuration
